Description

A whimsical duergar is here with eyes of black malice destroying any notion of his heritage. His cheeks are bare and his square jaw is cleanly shaven in contrast to his black hair that he has sculpted to appear like a beard that towers above his head. Dark scars seem to be self inflicted as they litter his tattered skin to form insulting depictions of society. One arm shows a broken Scales of Justice, the side of order chained to the ground. Upon the other arm is an inverted Imperial Sigil that is now barely visible beneath the lacerations and scars as if he attempted to hack the marking from his own skin with glee. Infernal magic has taken root in his capricious soul as his manic expression flows from hatred to euphoria and back again in the blink of an eye. A dark assortment or armors protect his body, mismatched without a single care as his hands affectionately stroke the weapon within their grasp with an eerie love and adoration.

Krata was born in Aran'Gird. He was the royal bastard of a horny king
who passed the child off as an offspring of his ill tempered advisor
Ordran. And life sucked. To keep the guise complete, Krata was forced
to spend his days with the dreary advisor and watched as other sons of
the king were given glory, position and riches. He began to act out to
get his father's attention, pushing the boundaries of society thought
of as acceptable behaviour.

Time and time again his father found a way to excuse his bastard son,
so time and time again Krata thought of new ways to embarrass the king
to see how far he could push his position. It wasn't until he shaved 
his beard that he earned his father's anger. It was funny how he got
everything he wanted in just one day. 

And more.

Not only was he claimed by his father, he was belittled, spat on and
eventually he was exiled from Aran'Gird. So here, sitting out in with
the critters and monsters of the Underdark he began to truly find whom
he was. He was Krata Srata and he was beardless, disowned and yet for
the first time in his life he finally felt free.

Greed and Freedom.

Galadon stunk. He hated it. Ever part of the rigid order that demanded
people act and behave a certain way. Krata had found his way out from
the Underdark and eventually crawled himself into this cesspool. With
annoyance, he ignored the curious looks they gave this beardless dwarf
as they walked through the markets. Guards and commoners alike stared
at him as if they were trying to figure out what the hell he was. 

"Haven't you ever seen a bloody Duergar before?"

Idiots, he thought to himself. He wasn't mad, he was actually happy in
the fact they didn't know what he was and happy with the idea he could
craft out and empower his own life. He didn't need his father's power
or the approval of his society. He had all of himself now and planned
to use whatever he could to make that image sting.

He had one advantage to get him started. His father's embarrassment of
his bastard son had resulted in a tutelage of sorts from Ordran. Magic
had woken in his veins and he had just the right amount of ambition to
do something about it. He marched his ass down through the foul city
and to the only guild that would provide him with a trusted companion
to live out his life of freedom.

And what better companion could a duergar find than a trusty weapon to
shove full of souls?

Absolutely none!

Strength and hard choices.

Entropy was a falsehood. If I wanted to be ignored and disrespected I
should have just stayed at home and continued my life as a dirt secret
of father. But I wanted more than that. Once I learned the blessing of
unholy might, my mind began to take a dark turn. The hunger for these
volunteers to join me in my freedom crusade became like an insatiable
fire that burnt in my soul.

So I began to listen to this fire and to give into my desire to build 
a better land in my own way. They would not listen to my case and join
the holy crusade of freedom then I was left with no choice but to take
power myself or drown in a world of weakness. If they wouldn't respect
reason then they would respect my strength and power.

My magic had grown well. I'd not ever dreamed of learning the things
I could do now. Ordran was the invoker of sorts and I begun studies in
the Anti-Paladin's guild well with the sorts of magic he taught me. As
I grew stronger in the guild it was obvious that my sorrow made me the
perfect conduit for darker magics. I channelled my grief and rage into
my magic and my weapon and it was true...

I would find no greater companion than her!

Withdrawing my pledge to the Barons of Chaos I decided it was time for
a darker path where we would be embraced for what we were. Harbringer
of Eternal Night and bringer of freedom to the long lost lands.

Strength and Pride.

Ignore me will you? You have just missed out on the opportunity for an
empowerment you have never known. I asked if I could prove myself as 
the anti-paladin to join your Chasm. It was the opportunity for you, I
was always going to be the vessel to bring around a realm of freedom.

I was angry at the God of the Eternal Night. It was never the smart to
be angry with such a being with mighty power to kill me with the blink
of an eye. But I could not help it! I was Krata Srata! Always was I to
be ignored back in Aran'Gird and pushed to the side. I would not take
it now, even from a God.

So I put it behind me and thought of the new plan to find entrance to
the Chasm. I found the advisor who told me to destroy my spear. It was
only a fake spear so I did it to test her. She called me a fool as she
turned into a bat and flew away. She was a bloody idiot too! My blood
filled with anger and rage with pride swelling in my chest. I would be
the one to make them regret.

I pulled out my real weapon where I hid my precious souls and stroked
her gently as I was telling her I would never destroy her. And there
was only one place left that would value the dark magics and give me a
change to make my mark on this world. Freedom through oppression had a
sound to it that I liked and I saw the opportunity to lead the Black 
Sect of the Empire. And you know what?

I didn't care anymore! I just wanted what was mine!

Plan born from rage.

They made me the Dread Lord very fast. It was as if there was fear in
the Empire and they wanted to make sure I stayed with them and not to
kill them. With darling love in my hand and dark ambitions deep in
my heart it was only the matter of time until I took what was mine!

But I did not like this Emperor. Told me to bring him gold for my own
promotions as if he was doing me the favor. Then when the time came to
promote me to the Dread Lord, he asked for three times the amount of
gold he initially told, as if I was some little servant whore. It made
me ANGRY! I was always the creature of greed, strength and pride but 
now I began to feel true rage with this false emperor. Bring me this,
do this for me, find that for me. And then he even had a nerve to tell
me that I will call him sir and never make the mistake not to again!

So I did this. I called him sir. Then I walked away with the snort to
begin making the plan to rid myself and the empire form this weak man
that paraded about like something strong. I was true strength, not an
little man like Itzenxilaatl who relied so heavy upon some fake deity
he calls bliss or something like it. True strength is found in embrace
of your own path and not prayers made from your knees. I guess it was
all the steps of my life which brought me to the path to see this and
I was even thankful for my rejection of my home. They had made me into
a true champion and I could do whatever the hell I wished.

So I decided here, I would find the way to get rid of this weak filth 
from the throne to see something stronger for this empire, this human
would be made anathema and I would hunt him to the ends of the earth.
I could be enticed by the Morius to the chasm, Chancellor would suit
me well but I would sooner take the soul of Narra before I bend knees
to another weak human.

One way or another I had the plan to taste the blood of Itzenxilattl,
but decided I had no use for his soul in my weapon. I would not defile
my love with a soul as weak and disgraceful as his!
