Description

An arial with milky grey and beige plumage stands at about 6ft 7in tall. It is quite hard to tell his true height as he constantly moves and then re-adjusts his footing with little rest between. His eyes are dark blue with yellow centres and are surrounded by a pink, almost red, flesh like area. The top part of the eye has small feathers that stick out like an eyelash would but longer. Those eyes jerk and move ceaselessly in a twitchy fashion that is mimicked by his head as it bobs and tilts on his scrawny looking neck. His beak is raptorlike with sharp edges that are ragged and broken in appearance like it has been damaged in combat or mutilated on purpose by someone. It makes a soft clicking sound that keeps time to his jerky little movements. His plumage is not well kept and it is patchy in places where you can see his dimpled gooseflesh, but his wings are the most unbelievable. They are so damaged looking you scarcely believe they can help him fly. The middle coverts and alula are only half present and those that are there look matted or broken. Only the large primaries are of any discernible quality and they are beige with faint red flecks. As you look a little more close you can see what he actually wears:

Role

Mad Prophecy

Added Thu Jul 31 05:10:04 2025 at level 28:
The goblin chief approaches the cavern where the seer dwells in darkness. Although he is the chief he
remains a little fearful of the seer. It is not the disfigured face, the bent and twisted spine but the power
that it uses. He makes himself heard and the seer bids him enter. He leaves his bodyguards behind and tries
to look confident and strong as he walks into the darkened cave.

The chief peers into the darkness, but cannot see anything before him and so he asks 'Seer, are you there?'

The seer whispers into the chief's ear 'Yes, Grihmlik-Chief, I am here!' and the Chief nearly falls over in shock.

'What is it you seek, Grihmlik, Chief of the goblins?' to which the Chief replied
'You know what I seek, Seer. Power and Legacy!'

The seer tossed some gnome-bones into a bowl, bit into the neck of a small salamander, spat out the flesh and
spread the blood onto the gnome bones. He spat in the mixture of blood and bone then bid Chief Grihmlik do the
same. He did so and then the seer moved his long-nailed and twisted looking index finger into the bowl and pushed
it all around. The noise if the nail scratching through the blood, spit and bones made Grihmlik's teeth ache, but he
had seen worse things in his life and he wanted to know if he would rise as to be the Goblin King or even as high as
the great Skreenak.

The seer breathed in the vapours from the bowl and their body went stiff as their normally milky white eyes turned
red. 'You will rise above all others when you embrace the *cough* gikt from the swamps'
Grihmlik questioned 'Gikt, did you mean gift or gikt?' but the Seer did not respond and went on with the prophecy,
still coughing and wheezing. 'Skreenak's mark will mar the chosen egg to show his favour. Hatch it and treat is as
one of us, watch it grow and you will rise to the heavens!'

Grihmlik turned sharply and left the seer as his mind tumbled over the words spoken and the future prospects
that he could envisage based on the ramblings of the seer. Mad Prophecy is very much open to interpretation.

Making Plans

Added Thu Jul 31 05:11:48 2025 at level 28:
Grihmlik, goblin chief, became obsessed with the seers' words and the prophecy of his own interpretation and he
began training the goblins more intensely, creating raiding parties that he would send out into all the swamp-like
regions of Thera in search of Saurian eggs initially discounting arial eggs as being less likely found in the swamps.

He neglected all other things and his focus was so narrowed that the guile and wits he had used to climb this high
in the goblin hierarchy dulled and he could not see his own son plotting his father's demise. Such is the goblin way
and prophecy be damned!

Countless raids left the goblins short of numbers and there was the beginnings of unrest and so Grihmlik started
a breeding plan to produce more raiders and keep the women whelping and the men.wellbusy doing what their
chief commanded.
Grimhlik felt that the Gikt would soon be found if he just kept them from turning on him and managing a couple of
raids a week. He increased the scope to include the mountains below and Ayr'Trinil too. He had thought early
on that the Gikt would come from a saurian egg, but desperation had caused him to think outside his usual ways.
'Surely, it must be soon?' he thought, 'The Seer said he would rise after finding the egg and hatching it, but he
feels age creep up on him so it must be soon!'
Such is the belief in prophecy.

Misadventure

Added Thu Jul 31 05:17:39 2025 at level 28:
Most Goblins are by their very nature, a screw up and despite training, tactics and strategy, any skirmish will always
result in the screw ups coming to the fore and, well, screwing up. This is what happened when the Glorious Gougers,
as they would later be known, 'successfully' fulfilled the chief's wishes and brought him the Gikt.

The report to the chief from the Gouger leader Krthar was glorious and painted them all as great fighters, heroes or
accomplished raiders but what his report did not convey to the chief was the utter confusion and chaos that ensued
from the moment young Pirkit got caught by the avian mother with his hand in her clutch of eggs. It was because
young Pirkit got soo excited when he saw the pattern on the egg, that looked like the teeth marks of the Lord Skreenak,
and blurted out 'It is!' to Dingus, his slow-witted companion and thief, waking and warning the avian mother and the
rest of their village. It was pandemonium as spears were thrust, daggers swiped and bows fired through the hut and
the surrounding houses. The gougers made off with all three of the eggs in the clutch, pursued by the avian down the
treacherous Calandryl mountainside, through Darsylon and into the vale beyond but the avians were still in pursuit.
Krthar had an idea that they could maybe lose them in the Blackwater swamps, so they headed west. Over the days
pursuit at least 3 gougers had fallen and almost twice as many avian had too, but the chase was still on in the swamp and
the ground was hard going. The gougers had made there way to a small mound of solid ground in the swamp and Krthar
made them rest and swap watch duty every half hour. Dingus had the pack with the eggs in it and Krthar told him to
keep them safe at all costs. Dingus placed the pack behind him and began to chew on a hacked off avian arm from the
initial skirmish. As he ate, the three eggs had slowly rolled out of the pack towards the swampier ground behind him.

By the time Dingus had noticed and scrambled over to get them, one had already slowly sunk beneath the surface and
was now lost. Dingus wasn't a smart goblin and was not so good at counting either and didn't twig that there were now
only two eggs when there was three before and to be fair, he was a little preoccupied with the crocodile that had the
largest egg now firmly in its jaws. He recalled the word of the gouger leader Krthar and panicked, he leapt onto the back
of the crocodile and began to hack away in a great frenzy! Pirkit saw the struggle and came to help Dingus to eviscerate
the crocodile. Pirkit's leg was bitten for his efforts but they managed to overpower the crocodile and recover the two
remaining eggs.
Krthar had finished scouting a way out and called them all to follow. Pirkit and Dingus put the eggs back in the pack and
hobbled their way out of the swamp behind Krthar and back to the Chief and to glory for they have found the Gikt!

Meanwhile....

Added Thu Jul 31 05:20:32 2025 at level 28:
As the Gougers traipsed out along after Krthar, the egg with the markings on it bubbled up to the surface, likely due
to some swamp gas, and was summarily swallowed by an enormous python.
So much for prophecy!?

The egg, the egg, the egg!

Added Thu Jul 31 05:25:02 2025 at level 28:
The Gougers returned to much excitement as the goblin horde gathered in a massive, squirming morass of sharp teeth
flailing arms and general filth. Krthar turned to Dingus and Pirkit, demanding the Gikt from them. Dingus reached into
the pack and brought out the smaller of the two eggs and handed them to Krthar. The gouger leader rolled it over in his
hand, frowned deeply, then backhanded Dingus across the face. He then tossed the egg into the crowd where it was
smashed and eaten. Dingus trembled as he reached in for the second egg, the thoughts of the painful torture he may
endure if Krthar was not happy with this one. Krthar took the last egg and examined it, his eyes narrowing as they took
in the look of the shell. 'See the marks of Lord Skreenak on it!' exclaimed Prikit. Krthar looked at Dingus and asked him
in slow, deliberate tones 'This is the egg you showed me in the avian village?'

Dingus glanced sideways at Prikit who was willing him to say 'Yes, Yes it is!' for both their sakes.
Dingus nodded and mumbled 'Yes, is the one it is!'
Krthar turned quickly and strutted over to the chief to present the Gikt.

The chief held the egg above his head and proclaimed it to be the Gikt the seer had foreseen. He laid down the law to
all of the horde that it was to be hatched, reared as one of them and that it would bring great things to the horde, when
of course he meant great things for him. He imagined himself rising to the heavens as the Great Skreenak had done.
Prophecy restored??

Miserable and Envious

Added Thu Jul 31 05:26:32 2025 at level 28:
The egg hatched 1 month later and neither the chief, nor his son were impressed with what they saw. A spindly pale
looking child, with even more scrawny looking arms and beady yellow eyes. The chief's son wanted to kill it and be done
with the whole thing because how could this rickle of bones and skin be a power yet to come? The chief forbade it and
decreed that no goblin of the horde can take the life of the Gikt, less they be cursed. He then commanded the seer to
make the curse hold true, which he did, all be it with a great deal of disgruntlement. No goblin of the horde can kill the
Gikt, less they be cursed.

A couple of years later the chief was supplanted by his son. The chief had been disembowelled and tied to a balloon that
had been stolen during a raid on a gnome village. His son declared the prophecy fulfilled as he jeered as his father's
body slowly rose into the heavens, dripping blood and other bodily fluids as it did so.
Gikt feared for his life from the new chief, but it seemed that the son consulted the seer and deep down, feared the curse
that may befall him taking the avian's life.

The misery began when Gikt was given the mocking name of Krawgikt, from the Goblin term Kraw for 'scrawny/weak' and was
for all intents and purposes, a slave. The worst jobs and tasks for the lowest of low were done by Krawgikt and he knew no
different. It was the only life he had known, he was a lowly goblin with a vicious streak that he could occasionally unleash
on an equally low living soul. He was kicked, beaten, mocked and in many ways, raised as a goblin. He wished for better or
for more. More strength, more speed, more power..just more!! They all have more and he wanted to rise, but he knows,
or he has been told how worthless he is and so he often plays the part to avoid the brutality of some.
Prophecy or just Piss poor luck?

Magical advantage

Added Thu Jul 31 05:27:47 2025 at level 28:
One of the many shit jobs that Krawgikt had to do was to be a raid-lugger, despite his relatively poor strength. I think the
goblins though it was funny to watch him struggle with the heavy loads, carting them back to the rest of the horde. It was
to be their undoing and to his advantage though. He was not as dull witted as many of the goblins in the horde, especially
the raiders and so when they plundered the gnomish villages, towns and libraries he would be tasked with sorting through
and lugging the tomes, wands, scrolls and other magical treasures the raiders wanted but never understood. They just
wanted it because the gnomes had it and everyone hates gnomes in the horde and for some reason that includes Krawgikt.

It was this time spent deciphering scrolls, tomes and other magical artifacts (as well as the occasionally sneaky quaffing of
a potion) that formed Krawgikt's education in magic, which grew with every raid and lugging he had to perform.
These gnomes had so much and did so little with it and soon he would make proper use of this growing power and have true
lasting power, like the Lord Skreenak he has learned of in the horde.

The final piece he needed came from a raid on the gnomes near the violet woodlands. It was a scroll of boroughs and it had
the power to remove him from the young chief and his horde and place him far away. He wrapped it around his ankle as if it
were some flimsy armour and after the lugging was done he returned to his dwelling with it, unfurled the scroll and took a
deep breath. He had studied the words and those like it but he knew he had this one chance to get it right. He spoke the
words as written on the scroll, felt a tug in his stomach and opened his eyes to a city full of wonder.and sand?

Prophecy still or just free will?

Malicious and Magical

Added Thu Jul 31 05:32:19 2025 at level 28:
Krawgikt, avian raised by goblins, is cruel, malicious and feels hard done by. He does not know why so many have so much
and why he was afforded so little, but he appreciates all that he has scrabbled for, the little magic, the minor martial training
and knows that there is more to be had. He just has to take it as the Lord Skreenak did when he rose from horde whelp to
a GOD! The guild of Anti-paladins suits his cruelty and lack of formal magical training, and he won't have to suffer a guild hall
with gnomes in it either. This is how Krawgikt came to be, a mixture of prophecy, fallacy, luck or fate? Maybe we just see
if he has the stomach to do what needs to be done to rise in power.

Meeting the King

Added Tue Sep 23 16:00:06 2025 at level 36:
Krawgikt stumbled through the mountains to the east of Voralia in pursuit of the halls of the King of the Goblins.
When he eventually found it he left his most valued gifts and gave thanks to the Lord Skreenak so that he may
get his attention and learn how to claw forth and climb to the heights of power that he seeks. His feathers nearly
fell out when the King stepped forth from the shadow and noticed Krawgikt, he actually noticed him. The King
looked him up and down and Krawgikt did his best to stand still but his eternal nervousness still had him hop
from foot to foot but the Lord King Skreenak did not notice or did not care. He accepted Krawgikt's gifts and
he questioned Krawgikt about his ambitions and his wants, his needs and it soon became apparent to Krawgikt
that his humble beginnings had him thinking too small and that seeking just power and a place in the chasm
was simple not enough. The talk continued until Krawgikt exclaimed that he wanted to learn more about
the shadow planes and the beasties within them and to not just become a scion but to hold a position of leadership.

Lord King Skreenak looked pleased at the little fire started in Krawgikt and set him to complete two tasks before they
spoke again. To gain 10 souls in his unholy weapon and to be a scion! Krawgikt accepted and Lord King Skreenak
left him with some parting words of advice
'Do whatever it takes ta git whatcher want. Ain't no reason ta leave ah path untrod. Take it all, at any
expense. Use yer anger, yer hatred, ands take it all.'
Krawgikt left determined and buoyed up with the words. Let us reap.

Marvelous findings

Added Tue Oct 7 04:38:46 2025 at level 38:
Krawgikt has long held the belief that the filthy and irritating gnomes may hold the key to unlocking the prophecy of the Eternal Night.
This has been underpinned by the fact that almost all of his magical knowledge and the power he has amassed from it, has come
from the pillaged libraries of the gnomes. All those scrolls, artifacts, wands and scripts hold such knowledge and power and they have
kept it from everybody else, locked in their libraries, their vaults and in their bulbous little heads. Krawgikt hates them for it and hunts
them for it. It was after a recent chase down of a small and pudgy little shifting magus that Krawgikt had thoroughly wounded with his
spear point, that he came upon some marvelous findings. The disgusting little pudger had managed to hobble and bleed all the way
through a hidden entrance to a small glittering cavern. It was another one of their 'libraries', which Krawgikt thought was just another
word for a horde. 'They say Goblins, Orcs and Dwarves horde, but Gnomes put in Library?! Bah!' he thought angrily. At that moment
he felt the vibration and hunger of his unholy weapon as the disgusting little pudger's life expired.

After riffling through the corpse for coins, wands and other useful things Krawgikt began to explore the various holes and crevices in
the cave and tried his best to decipher the languages on them. He sat in the middle of the dry and glittering cavern and began reciting
or trying to recite the words of magic from the various scrolls. He spent hours, creating balls of light, causing grievous wounds on the
corpse that sat in front of him, making balls of fire and sometimes just making his feathers tingle. He tapped artefacts, bit them, waved
them and invoked them until he felt he had some idea of their purpose. None were as useful as a periapt to syphon disease or poison
but he gleaned some information from them. Just as he was getting up to leave his eye was caught by a green twinkle in the darkness.
He looked into the hole and saw an old, emerald-encrusted, book. He reached in nervously, allowing his envious nature to outweigh
any fear that he had of what trap may await his fingers. He pulled with all his strength, as the old book had calcified in the space and
become part of the rock, but eventually it came free with a levering from his spear. Krawgikt went sprawling backwards, arse over end
and came to rest beside the gnomish corpse, dead eyes seeming to stare accusingly at him.

He got up quickly and studied his green and glittering prize. On the front of the tome was an array of emerald in various shades and when
a little light caught them he could make out a '13' in the sparkly emeralds. He opened it eagerly and when he saw the words he did not even
stop to consider what they may do and he spoke the words aloud. A small, pale wisp of a creature rose from the emerald covered tome and
shot forward into Krawgikt's forehead andwell.nothing.or so he thought.

Marvelous findings cont'd

Added Tue Oct 7 04:39:10 2025 at level 38:
After sending himself back to Hamsah Krawgikt entered the guild hall to discuss matters of protective wands, but instead of the usual
bargaining the guild master noted 'There is a change in you Krawgikt.' His eyes scrutinised him deeply and he spoke in a careless whisper
'You have been blessed by the Pit Fiends, without my knowing, which is curious enough in itself but you look to have discovered both a
blessing and a curse in the art of butchery and unstable enchantments. You have been meddling in some deep magic Krawgikt, these
things have not been seen in many a year.' He snorted and ignored Krawgikt's requests to help him understand what it all meant and
what benefit or curse it may bring him. Frustrated, Krawgikt left the guild not knowing how he can make use of them. As he left he mused
'Maybe the brains of gnomes might hold the knowledge. A library made flesh!'

Messenger of the gods or Malfeasance from Takoa?

Added Thu Oct 23 09:17:40 2025 at level 40:
Krawgikt entered the guildhall in Hamsah and was presented with a pale yellow vellum, sealed with wax, imprinted with a lantern.
He opened and unfurled it to read a missive from Takoa, a saurian knight of death that resides in the chasm as a scion. The latter notion
felt odd to Krawgikt as Adelia and other he met along his journey spoke of how Takoa had attempted to become an Imperial and
had made some deal with the then Empress Felyndiira. For this reason and for not hearing that Takoa was Advisor or Chancellor he
read the whole scroll with scepticism. This scepticism became anger as he read between the looping script and found it to have teeth,
as it questioned his guild advancement and even the disguised demand of procuring a soul to be given to Takoa to allow him
to reflect on loss. Krawgikt has had much loss in his early life enough to fill a treasure room. His anger built but he began to have
questions about whether Takoa really spoke for the Immortal Lords of the chasm and so he gathered up an offering for his King and
went to consult him in the Royal Court.

The King, he felt, was the pinnacle of scheming, politicking and taking. So, it was his advice he sought. The King first laughed
at the thought of Krawgikt being taken in by Takoa, who had no station of importance, but when Krawgikt explained himself
better the King listened and questioned, nudged and guided Krawgikt to make his own decision. This is why he is a great King!

Krawgikt left with renewed purpose of how to navigate and negotiate his way through this mire of perceived entrapment.
He first sought out the Lord Morius at the gates to his church, he did not enter as he felt it a disrespect when he held other
beliefs. He prayed for a sign that Takoa did act on his wishes to determine a path to be taken but the Father of Sins did not
let on and so Krawgikt began to put together his own penned vellum. Krawgikt speaks often like a goblin still and often
does so to maintain other's belief in him being less dangerous for the words he uses and in the manner he does but he
would not let such pretence, in a missive, cloud the meaning or the intent of his words. He put down his feelings to Takoa
and the tasks he came up for Krawgikt, agreeing to some (if it is the will of the gods), addressing the slights and negotiating
a path that allows him to show his skill, passion and knowledge but also maintaining all that he holds strong, all that
the King has instilled in him since he ventured into the Royal Court. When he was finished putting it together, he made three
more copies to be taken to the Lord King Skreenak, Morius and Rahsael as well as 'Takoa and He'. He paid the messengers
well and made it clear that all should be delivered by hand to the recipient or to the first of their followers to ensure delivery.

Misery

Added Thu Jan 29 05:48:33 2026 at level 41:
Krawgikt took heart from the Lord King Skreenak's words and his challenge to build a clutch of souls amounting ten
in one weapon and find a place in the chasm before returning to him. Krawgikt ran with this challenge and amassed
a weapon containing a clutch of 30 or more souls as well as gaining acceptance into the chasm, but when he had gone
to the Lord King Skreenak's shrine there was cold empty silence. Some of the court said the Lord King Skreenak was
away seeking more power and so Krawgikt used patience, which is not a trait of his kind, but he would endure it.

Then disaster struck in the form of an elemental magus cloaked in magic Krawgikt could not penetrate leaving
him at a disadvantage. They battled for the scepter and Krawgikt was blindsided by a lowly storm giant belting him
over the head with a mace at the same time. Krawgikt was defeated and they took his brood, his clutch of souls and
Krawgikt puffed up his feathers in anger, but knew they were the sort to take them out of spiteand for that he actually
applauded their goblinature, despite their protestations. Krawgikt was suffering such a blow he thought he may
never recover but he nestled down for a time in a nest of mud, sticks and clay to contemplate his future.

He awakes from nesting having concluded -
He now has nothing to show the Lord King Skreenak and so must avoid his gaze until he amasses a clutch of ten.
He is not just the sum of the souls in his brood, but by Skreenak's lashing tongue the climb back up is arduous with
many setbacks.
This ill luck that now follows him since the loss, he will have to break, to build again, maybe even employing orcs
or other allies he has made instead of lone hunting.

He needs to find out about the uses of the unstable enchantment and butchery for his sanity may tilt upon it's
unravelling, yet all experimentation to date has yielded nothing. His trust in the Lord King Skreenak knowing relies
on his regaining ten in his brood and being able to stand tall again before his Lord King.
We must Reap.

Maledictions, Malaise and Minor breakthroughs

Added Thu Feb 26 03:42:51 2026 at level 41:
Krawgikt regained his focus and started to live once again by the catechism he had adopted after meeting the
Lord King Skreenak. He would often mumbled it beneath his breath as he performed more menial tasks as
well as when he knelt before the Lord King Skreenak's Throne -
'Self before others' - 'No rock unturned' - 'Do what must be done' - ' Plunder and Take'
This is what has allowed him to regather 5 souls to his new brood and to not take so many foolish risks born of
anger or general gnome hatred. They have cost him too many run-ins with the law, which is regrettable as they
were a strength he planned to yoke as he rose in his guild standing. His fear of standing before the Lord King as
one who failed to hold on to his brood, has abated. He thought he had been forsaken as fate flung him into
a torrent of sand and air, battering him to death as he spun aimlessly within the vortex, but after a close encounter
with the outlanders he lay riddled with plague and unable to eat a curative from his bag. He knew himself to maybe
not die from the malaise, but he was as vulnerable as he could be in that musty cave, and the fever and plague held
strongly. That was until it suddenly stopped as Krawgikt was on his third repeat of his catechism when the fever broke
earlier than expected. He revelled in sudden recovery and felt, deep down that it was swallowed and eaten by the Maw!

Fear of failure to one side, Krawgikt pursues the Lord King Skreenak's attention and seeks to bear his mark.
