Description
Your gaze falls upon this wiry dwarven male with piercing grey eyes.
His cheekbones protrude above a luxurious beard tumbling in a brief
black waterfall that barely touches his chest, suggesting youth rather
than dishonor. His forehead is broad, his eyebrow ridge prominent, and
his hair black stubble upon his head. A ragged weal slides over his nose
and onto his left cheek, still the angry red of a recent wound.
Even unmoving, his body seems like restlessness in a travel-worn cloak.
His arms are thin and oversized hands bespeak of a dextrous strength
of a craftsman or musician. In addition to his bedroll and pack, you
also see that

Krazcart Stonespucker General Information

Background:
Born the son of itinerant merchant craftsmen, Krazcart
was raised on a diet of travel and hardship. The moving lifestyle
meant his family had to travel light, but a young dwarf always has
a use for a good belt knife, and a boot knife doesn't weigh much,
and a knife tucked into a collar can occasionally be missed during
a routine search. His parents were slain by a dragon in Feanwyn Weald,
forcing him to strike out on his own.
Personality & Motivation:
At the onset of his adventuring career, Krazcart is serious, determined,
but as yet aimless. The only thing he of which he is certain is that he
has an understandable hatred for dragonkind.
Religion:
Krazcart will ultimately follow Rahsael, although the pain of the loss of
his parents in his youth is not presently borne with the wisdom that
comes with age. Concealment is part of his nature, whether it is hiding
his grief from himself, his motivations from his enemies, or that knife
he has secreted upon his person.

Mother,
Some time after we parted, I decided to write down
stray thoughts and things I have seen. I know you will not
see these letters until I place them into your own hands,
but it does my heart good to do this.
I have been working odd jobs where I can find work.
Flaring forges! Just like always, pairing dwarven know-how
with good old fashioned sweat and tears. Jobs have come
pretty easily so far, whether it is finding lost magnifying
lenses for clumsy elves (I found it, but I haven't given it to
him yet, for I want him to be particularly grateful) or helping
keep the peace in the Galadon cemetery, which is overrun by
undead. The mourners don't say anything, as they are all caught up
in their own sorrows, but I know I am doing good by them
so they can reflect on things. I plan on moving toward
Voralian City soon, as I hear there is work there for
an enterprising dwarf.
I should get back to work. My love to you always,
Cart.

Mother,
I am good, really. I have had reliable work, and I have learned
a little about the southern continent, as I did what father always refused
to do, and I went on the long voyage to the south. I did not find any work
there, but south of the foreigner's city there are outlying villages
filled with farmers trying to make scratch out a living under the heavy
burden of the Empress. She seems to have a stranglehold on commerce
there, but I did learn a few tricks with my leatherman's knife
I can put to use.
I have taken into the company of the Brigade. I know you know of them,
as we traveled north a few times trying to sell armors, as maces were
not in demand among those who can conjure them out of fire. The few I have
met have welcomed me like a long lost brother.
I found the ruins of a temple that is not on any well-known maps
of the area. Despite the condition of the place, it has several
inhabitants. They don't seem to interact with each other, but
all of them have a look like the blade snapped while they were
testing the quench. I will tell you more later, if I learn anything.
My love to you,
Cart

Mother,
First, I am doing well. But I have had adventures I should share with you.
I have put my iron into the forges of the Brigade, and the fires have
flared some. I have stared into the eyes of dying enemies and watched
their spirit fade away, and I myself have gained a few scars and felt
the healer's touch after run-in with some magic-using git with an undead
army.
That defeat and other setbacks I've had have made me think about loss.
Loss is a catalyst, like using vinegar and salt to form a patina. Successes
Successes and gains may change someone slowly, but losing that fight to the
necromancer so soon after killing that ranger has sparked me to temper
aggressiveness with wariness. It has galvanized my belief that we need to
take the dross out of Thera, and I will do my best to stoke the fires needed
to do it.
Adversity grinds away at a person. Some weapons will be broken, but others will
be made stronger or sharper. I do not like having lost, but but each time I
lose something I have an opportunity for meaningful change. It is important.
Like I said, I am good. I need to find some honest work, for I haven't had a
good sweat or the accompanying jingle in my pocket, but I am good.
My love always.
