Description

Clothed in various skins and furs, a towering figure stands before you.His skin is pale and his hair is light. He is slightly crouched, understating his true height of near on twelve feet tall. Massive hands grip equally mighty clubs which his muscled arms could swing with deadly force. He turns his head, bushy eyebrows showing green eyes, with a gentle yet haunted appearance. Many large beasts were fallen to create the miss match of leather armor and clothing that adorn this giant of a man. He also has a worn travel back strapped to his back, and some other weapons are also in his possession showing training in more than a couple arts of war.

Role

Vision

Added Sat Feb 3 21:32:42 2024 at level 7:
Krorg grew up in a village high up in the Southern mountain ranges of Thera.
Isolated, the village barely ever saw outsiders. The giants live a simple
life, hunting for the food they needed and making clothing out of the hides
of the various animals and monsters they slay. They fashioned primitive
weapons like staves, clubs, bows and spears. Being far from the largest
creatures to inhabit the mountains, they have learnt to fight with cunning
and strength. Krorg's kindred follow the teachings of the Ancients. They do
not dig or mine into the earth, and only take what they need to survive.
Over the years the cloud giants noticed that they had to travel further and
further from their home high in the mountains to find food. They would even
leave the mountains, and traverse the forests and plains looking for game.
Krorg and a few of his brethren were heading north-west, careful to keep the
belching black smoke of Galadon to their east. Trying to find a deer or two,
or some other game to take back to feed the village. They soon came across a
burnt blackened forest as far as the eye could see. They carefully wandered
amongst the ashes, wondering how such a large forest could have its life
extinguished so. They headed west and soon found the last remaining grove
amongst the ashes. They settled down to rest before they would leave this
cursed place. Krorg removed his pack and settled down near a strange smooth
rock.

A vision filled Krorg's mind. A vision of those sworn to defend the Mother
against those who that would bring her Harm. He saw the Disease sweep across
the forest. Most precious sapling being stolen. Twisting Curtains of
apocalyptic fire washed over the trees! The Ancient Bear cried as death and
destruction ended his life. The slaughter of all but a very few Sylvan
Warders. The vision overwhelmed Krorg's feeble mind and he passed out.
Unable to wake him, the others fashioned a simple stretcher and carried Krorg
back to the village with haste. When the giants finally reached their
village some days later, Krorg was mumbling incoherently in his sleep. His
body was weakening as his mind wandered. The village healer placed Krorg in
a deep healing sleep. Two days later, Krorg awoke from his slumber, weak,
but of sound mind. He told his kindred of his vision, of what he had seen.
The elders among those around him spoke amongst themselves, piecing together
what Krorg described with what they knew of the outside world.

Krorg soon gained his strength, but the lingering vision filled his waking
hours as well as his dreams. He felt that his path was no longer with his
kindred but somewhere else in the world. He felt that the Mother was calling
him, calling him to travel forth, and find kindred spirits with the strength
and desire to stem the tide of devastation that was slowly strangling the
very lands that sustain us.

Points of interest

Character traits and other important information.

Krorg is a simple minded cloud giant who comes from a village high in the
mountains. He has no need of coins, as he is able to find food and clothing
in the wilds. He does not like cities and avoids them.

Ethos He is Chaotic as he does not believe in order. He could have been
Neutral but I decided to go with Chaotic as his eventual path in life will be
Outlander.

Class Krorg decided to join the warrior guild which he found in blackclaw as
he had been noticing in his travels many heavily armed soldiers and other
foes that he realized he was no match for. His skills as a hunter would not
go far in the world he was exploring so he dedided he needed training, being
simple minded, he just wanted someone to show him how to use his clubs
better.

Hometown Hamsah - I took another ooc choice with this one. He does not use
cities, but he eventually will find a home in the Refuge. Hamsah is the
closest place he could pick as a home town to there. Bearing in mind Hamsah
is his home by name alone as he will never use it other than the odd recall.

Krorg can not budge the visions that fill his mind, he left his village in
search of answers and meaning to the visions. He also feels a pull to the
next stone that will continue his understanding of his path that will
eventually lead to a member of Thar-Eris.

Sphere Seasons.Being a hunter gatherer Krorg knows the importance of the
seasons in knowing when game migrates and when fruit becomes ripe and edible.

Sentinel

Added Mon Mar 11 15:54:17 2024 at level 34:
In the time that preceded Krorg leaving his village, he tried to find out if
others had seen the vision also, or had knowledge. First he asked a Felar
Ranger named Frssyr. Frssyr had know knowledge to share. He then asked a
friendly Storm Giant named Usanaar. Krorg mentioned the stone in the ash
forest vision. Wise Usanaar said he knew of the stone and to seek out more
stones. He said to look in the virgin forest, and in Prosimy. Krorg
continued his travels, seeking out the stones he was told of, all the while
giving cities a wide berth and also seeking out others that he could
befriend. Eventually he found both stones and saw the visions that they also
gifted to those that touched them. The pain of death that filled Krorg's
heart was now filled with survival, friendship, devotion, love, purpose and
hope. He had seen the creation of the Refuge and now knew where he must go,
what his purpose in life now was. He would join the Refuge and help restore
Thar-Eris.

Krorg found the Refuge in the forest of Prosimy and pledged his life to the
Centaur beneath. He then wandered the lands, gaining strength and meeting
others of the Refuge. He even met leaders but was unable to find the
Harbinger for some time. He did not lose heart as he knew he was but a small
part of the grand design that would end in the eventual rebirth of Thar-eris.

A few years later, Krorg found Snarbeldina, Harbinger of Thar-Eris.
Snarbeldina asked Krorg about his youth, where he came from and what brought
him to seek out the Refuge. It seemed like Snarbeldina knew of the stones
and thought their talking to Krorg was important too. Snarbeldina asked
Krorg what he knew of the difference between a Sentinel, Warden and Reaver.
Krorg explained in simple ways what he thought the difference was.
Snarbeldina decided that they liked Krorg, could see that Krorg was dedicated
and spoke from the heart. Krorg is now a Sentinel.

Many years have now passed and Krorg is slowly gaining strength and also
helping the Refuge as much as he can. He has met many people that travel the
lands, ones that follow the path he does and also others that seek different
paths like villagers and Fortress types. These ones can not be trusted as
they also hide among their numbers those foul defilers that the Bark in the
Refuge has shown to be the true enemies of Thar-Eris.

Pawns

Added Mon Mar 11 20:51:49 2024 at level 34:
Krorg's simple mind had little understanding of the Gods. He only
comprehended what he could see and feel. When he died and was reborn the
first time he understood that the Outlander Gods had chosen him for a greater
purpose. There were few dedicated spirits that walked the lands, able to
live their lives over and over, Champions or Pawns of the Gods.Recently
Krorg woke to be told by Sinnyah that Mauotto a Shadow Assassin of the Empire
had recently been slain near the Refuge. Krorg made haste to the Refuge to
see if he could help. Again came Mauotto, reborn once more, only to find
Krorg in his way. Krorg smashed at Mauotto with his clubs, smash, smash until
Mauotto was a bloody heap at his feet, his life shattered. Again and again
came Mauotto, with fanatical zealotry that Krorg had never seen before.Five
times Mauotto died to retrieve the dread Codex. This day left a profound
mark on Krorg. He now understood that the way of the Reaver although
necessary would never stop the tide of fanatics that would strike at the
Refuge. The only way to talk sense to these people was to get to them before
they dedicated their lives to civilization or the dark arts. We of the
Refuge must seek out those that are young, those that have not been seduced
by the corrupt Gods that would make them pawns.Yes thought Krorg, must
teach young ones and show them the great things Mother provides before its
too late.
