Description
The man before you is adorned in the humble clothing
of a traveler. The leathers and comfortable pieces
look well worn but also shimmer with astral runes to
suggest he has traveled a much bigger distance than
just across the land. He has blonde hair that flows
down his back and frames his determined face. A blue
eyes stare out from his determination and offer the
world a small glimpse at his indomitable spirit. His
passion and interest in magic is obvious as he holds
many artefacts that look to be from other planes and
contain magic.
Role
Zeal and arrogance.

Thera was not my home. But I was glad to be here in this place. I
was born in the far away land, maybe it was even another plane to
live completely! I came to Thera only because of my Djinn, he was
the wise friend and knew many tribulations of the innocents in an
entire universe.
When I first made it to Thera, I did not quite understand what it
was that I saw. It was like the land was bleeding and crying all
at once. It made no sense! I saw all those who said they were the
ones bathed in the light, and I saw them doing nothing to change
it. I thought to myself? Why do they sit and watch as people die?
I myself simply could not do then. So when I found the place in a
mountains called the Fortress, I turned my back on them like they
had done to all Thera.
Instead with my Djinn I went to fight for the real innocents of a
land that was in pain. I knew there would be much costs to all of
the blood I would spill. But it was as if there was no other way,
these people and innocents of Thera deserved peace. And the only
was for them to have peace was for someone strong enough to make
the victory over the darkness once and forever.
No matter the cost!
Losing the way.

Blood was covered all over me. I had taken many lives and yet did
not really understand the cost it would take on my own soul. The
pinnacle of the guild was reached by purification of many wicked
souls. Would I do it again? Yes! If not me, then who? There was a
real war here and turning our backs on it would not change a fate
of Thera!
But then I was made a criminal and saw myself through the eyes of
a light hearted guard. I saw myself covered in blood and as one
whom had just broken the peace and taken a life. This guard came
at me and my companions from the planes struck him down fast and
turned his remains to ashes. I didn't know where to look, I could
not look at the archangel. I could not look at my Djinn. Instead
I looked upon the ground that had the innocent ashes upon it and
forced myself to scribe a circle of protection over his remains.
There was sadness in my heart as I made this circle and dismissed
the archangel, I even sat there a while longer as I asked myself
over and over...
Was it worth it? Would I ever conjure again? With the sad heart I
made my way out of Galadon and into the distance of the northern
road. It was time to think hard about what it was to find victory
and what cost would be worth it for peace.
The pure victory.

Then I came full circle. Back to the mountains that I once a long
time ago dismissed as weak. I knelt before this Maran and pledged
to do better and show more restraint. It was not just the death
of the guard that weighted upon my soul, I had felt a darkening.
A burden of bartering with evil forces.
In my youth I had used nightgaunts and smoke mephits. I was happy
enough to use evil to kill evil and a little to brash with it all
as I did not completely understand what it was I was trading. The
short term victory was not true victory, killing someone now was
not the same as wiping evil at the source. I learned quickly that
it was not just the battles we fought and innocents we saved, but
the picture of a life in the light that we were meant to show to
all the innocents.
So it was my new pledge. To understand there was a cost too high
to pay for victory and to find victory the right way. It was what
Thera deserved. Not a peace paid for with blood and foul deed but
a peace hard fought with honor. A victory worthy of Thera!
First step - Join the Fortress and become a Squire.
Second step - Find redemption and became a Maran.
Third step - Achieve victory over darkness the right way!
