Description
Before you, clad in several layers of leather and hides, is the silhouette of
a giant, tall, long and lean. Slim sinewy muscle bellies ripple as he moves,
many of them can be seen clearly through his jasper skin. A few healed scars
litter his exposed flesh, the most notable is horseshoe shaped and resides
over his left eye. All together, he has a clean-cut visage of weather
toughened skin which is highlighted by dark amber eyes and short unkempt
hair, of a malachite hue. Strapped on his back seems to be some sort of
hefty-looking sack or small wooden chest along with a weapon or two.
Somehow, one last glance shows that..

Floating life's river.

Average, is the perfect word to be used to describe the earliest years of
life for Kygro.
Youthful, care free, yet adored for by his parents, Maula and Vardo Crashdum,
were his first days. Because of this, he was well on his way to being a
loving and wise aquatic giant.
Although kind, he was adventurous as well. A few years ago, this attitude of
adventure changed the course of his life, for good.
One day, while on a family getaway, his sense of adventure compelled him to
swim to a nearby island and this was his last act prior to a forced
independence.
The weather that day, was deceptively calm, yet under the smooth surface
raged a ripping current. Over half way to his destination, it grabbed him,
plunging him into the swirling dark stream for what seemed like days.
Eventually, he arrived on a small island where, in his solitude, he learned
to fend for himself, fight, and feed his most basic of needs.
After a few years of survival and with little regard for safety, he boarded a
makeshift raft, mostly driftwood, and set out on his own.
He drifted, for what seemed like eternity but was soon to be captured on
board a pirate's schooner.
The large chunks of time he had spent alone, coupled with the vile pirates
interrogation, subjugation, and torture, stripped away much of his joyful
personality and replaced it with dull, quiet, maybe even primal insight.
Upon his eventual escape, he traversed the mainland, and learned many details
and customs, even joined the ranger's guild.
Shortly after his guild indoctrination, he bore witness to several vile
instances of interaction. Foul creatures from other planes, men and women,
who like the pirates, seeking to subjugate others are simply despicable.
As his insides twisted at the thoughts of the atrocities he continued to
observe, he felt his calling. One day, he'd seek this Fortress of Light, so
that he could do his part.
Transitory Developments

A mighty dwarf stood against the herald of one of the most dominant
oppressors. Golial, glared and stared, invoking his lords divine punishment
against the vile Imperial until he drew his last breath.
That was the event that was the final push toward Kygro beginning his search
for the Fortress and eventually the Marans. Although he knew, deep within,
that something needed to be done, this was his path defining instance.
His adventures began coming at an ever increasing pace and before he knew it,
he had learned of all the groups of enemies to the Fortress and their main
goals, and the lay of the land to and from each.
Without a doubt, the largest challenges are beginning to sprout after finally
convincing Marshall Yuolud to grant him a chance inside the Fortress.
Many times he is set to meet the vile and corrupt outside of the woodlands,
where he feels at his weakest.
Wether it is before the vanquisher, or tromping through the sands toward the
cavern, or even inside the pillars of the Fortress, his slow mind gleans bits
of wisdom from his many endeavors.
However, after many skirmishes, he has attempted to converse with the tainted
in hopes that one among many will awaken and see a better path.
The very dry responses and abrupt shorthand form of speech that he uses,
lands him into some situations where it can be a little difficult for others
to understand.
Overall, after his initiation into Fortress life and duties, and the passing
of his mentor, Golial, he has began a spiritual search. Learning the
teachings of the Lady of the Mist, is is present goal.
To seek her without awe and respect, he believes, would be a heavenly slight
and inside, he feels that with patience he'll finally make her acquaintance.
The Life Taken.

Too many days passed without ever feeling an incident, the weather was kind,
the battles were in favor, and excitement gleamed in his eyes. This day,
he'd do some shopping and relaxation.
Knowing that some useful items hailed from magic shops, he figured that a
trip to Tir Talath would be in order, after all, Yuolud did say that some
useful sight potions were there.
While browsing, he did find a few interesting talismans, potions that would
render him transparent, and one quartz talisman with a unique spell trapped
within.
Although a bit impulsive, he was eager to test some of these new magical
devices out. The first one put him into a a righteous frenzy but the second
one, became the source of his greatest pain to date.
Excitedly, he departed the city and headed back toward the fields and hills
in the direction of the Fortress but before he'd gotten too far, he decided
to test the unique talisman.
The instant he'd released the magic, regret cascaded across his face. The
magical light trapped within, burst forth, striking a small dwarven fellow,
camping nearby.
Before the small delay in thought and action from the release of magic
dissipated, the dwarven lad lay there, dead. With his passing, a deep ache
settled on his heart.
Immediately, he fell to his knees, weeping, beside the fallen fellows still
body. As cold tears began to stream down his cheeks, his actions were
completely disheveled.
He sacrificed the talismans right at that very moment. Feeling pain, almost
distraught, he sought another to confide in. Another paladin, who did try to
empathize with him.
After some time passed, he returned to visit the resurrected dwarf and
proceeded to give his deepest apologies. As they smiled at one another, he
felt reassured but did depart with all his coin to charity as reparation.
The reaction from the diminutive paladins were reassuring, as the champion of
Corrlaan and the dwarf both confirmed that the pain he felt was real and that
dark people didn't sense the same things.
Although, he decided that he'd move on with his life, continue the crusade,
he'll never forget the Paladin's teachings and the painful lesson behind his
impulsiveness.
The Gentle Kind.
Added Tue Aug 20 20:23:32 2013 at level 38:
He pondered. For some time, feelings rang throughout his core consciousness
and erupted from deep within. To what ideals would be called upon to define
in his life.
To arrive at this point, he had spoken with the elven Goddess, Baerinika, of
desire to adopt her teachings. She was kind and instructive, a gentle hand
which acts as a guide toward her ideals.
For hours they chatted and he discovered that many of his feelings coalesced
with the divine. Punishment of the oppressors, the true courage needed for
forgiveness, and unlikeliness of redemption.
However, for any chance of forgiveness, a genuine feeling of remorse would
need to be felt. One he feels that retribution from their past deeds
requires to segue into the empathy needed to overcome evil.
Among the other ideals discusses were the tenants required to best represent
the righteous Goddess. The first of these that must be embodied is that of
Purity and she asked for three rules to guide this purpose.
As he continued pondering, thoughts of what it was like to be known as the
elves would say "Alma Norsa", or simply, goodly giant. These very words, he
feels will be the center of his rules.
Firstly, like he had discussed of another disciple of the Jaguar, Yuolud,
he'd need to be the example setter. Although his instinct is centered toward
recompense, embodying "Gentle Kind" is paramount to him.
Continuing to incorporate examples that he'd witnessed, a page from the
Paladin's code, he likes. Forgo greed and ensure that those less fortunate
than himself, have their needs met.
As the final tenant, he's chosen to remain true to the wilder roots that has,
in the past, sustained him and has presently allowed him to grow strong
enough to combat the oppressors.
Each of these disciplines has uniqueness to their cause yet all of them
pertain to the purity of his giant race and the wilder path that he's chosen
to live.
