Description
You see before you an avian figure, stretching to just about six feet,
perhaps a bit short for one of his race. The feathers of his face are a
shiny black, but give way to an incredible, shimmering silver crest that
starts at the crown of his head, and down his back to his tail feathers. At
the center of his back, the silver bleeds out to his wings, highlighting the
tips of black wings in the same, blinding silver. The feathers on the rest
of his body are the same, shiny black of his face, which bears a rather
prominent beak for an arial who would otherwise be considered quite
attractive, and whose orb-like icy blue eyes seem to hold intense passion. He
is lithely built, like many others of his race and carries himself with an
air of nobility. You notice an emblem of some sort fastened to a black, iron
around his neck.
Role
Kyrilos Divumarchos
Added Mon Sep 20 16:05:55 2010 at level 16:
Kyrilos is the bastard son of the Arial Emperor. He was raised in a noble
household, and knew who his father was.He had good relations with his
father until he found out that he could not inherit anything because he was a
bastard. He murdered two of his brothers by poisoning them the night he left
the Arial City.He will follow Enlilth under the sphere of Envy. His goals
include being crowned as the Arial Emperor, collecting the crowns and royal
trappings of all the races, and eventually becoming Emperor of Thera. He is
noble and aloof in his dealings with others. Particularly those who are seen
as poor, or servant like. He gave himself the last name of Divumarchos,
which in the old arial tongue means Ruler of the Sky.
Inheritance
Added Thu Sep 30 14:27:05 2010 at level 28:
"Mother, can you believe it? Two days until my fifteenth birthday, and I
will be crowned a prince! I will stand next to Father and be a general of
his armies! I will be what I have always desired!" The excitement was very
real in Kyrilos' voice.
"Yes my son, it shall be so. You will be a strong general, and a fine
prince." His mother turned and acknowledged the servant who had come into
the room.
"It has father's royal seal on it. It must be his summons!" Kyrilos quickly
tore the letter open and began anxiously reading. The look on his face
turned from joy to disgust as he read the message.
Kyrilos,
You know the laws of our realm. I have
decided not to change them. You will not become
a Prince of the Arials. You will not become a
general of my armies. I am sending you to the
Academy to enroll in the guild of warriors.
Serve our race proudly.
*The Arial Imperial Seal*
His face went dark and he dropped the letter, leaving the room without saying
a word.
Vengeance
Added Thu Sep 30 14:30:43 2010 at level 28:
Kyrilos paced back and forth across a dimly lit room blocks off of Carnation
Drive. He was deep in his own thougths of revenge. He barely noticed the
man emerge from a back room, and absently paid him the three pieces of gold
as he took the small vial. He left quickly and slipped into the shadows on
the street. He was focused. Hate and greed drove him, kept him warm in the
blustering winds and slashing rain. He moved through the streets like a
ghost.
He entered the palace by a secret entrance and made his way to the kitchen,
where the meal for his half-brothers was being prepared. The servant never
knew who, or what, struck him down. A flash of silver in the candlelight and
his throat spurted blood across the stove. Kyrilos quickly donned the
threadbare robe and covered his head and face with the matching hood. Arial
servants were not allowed to make eye contact with the nobles of the Imperial
House. His brothers would pay little attention to him in any case. True
nobles, they never suspected their servants would betray them. As Kyrilos
put the finishing touches on the meal, he withdrew the vial from a small
pouch near his breast and poured half of it in each glass of wine.
The bodies of the two princes were not found until the following morning,
when their father called on them. They were to go on the Sky Hunt, a great
tradition of the nobles. What he found was two bloated bodies, with blood
pouring from the beaks, ears and eyes. He also found a note.
Father,
I am a rightful prince of our realm. I
have taken from you, as you took from me.
I will serve our race proudly, and I will
have my vengeance. I will make our race
not only proud, but powerful beyond your
wildest imagination.
I have taken a new name, in the old tongue.
You will grow to fear it.

The two arials approached the Altar of Envy. The first, a regal looking
arial, his black feathers and silver crest shimmering in the candlelight.
The second, obviously of a lower caste, head slightly bowed and a few steps
behind.
"Swear your oath to me." The regal arial commanded, standing tall before the
Altar.
"I, Karicel Divumuneris, so named by the rightful Emperor of the Arials,
Kyrilos Divumarchos, swear this oath."
"I will serve his will, protect the house of Divumarchos, with honor,
humility, and unwavering loyalty, until the gods take my soul."
"This oath I take, for myself, and all who are born to my line, for time
unending."
"It is done, Karicel, return to your studies."
This oath was sworn before the Altar of Envy, in the Shrine of Lord Enlilth.

Excerpts from the private journal of Kyrilos Divumarchos follow.
Day of Deception, 1st of the Month of Long Shadows
More arials flock to my banner. I now have a Spymaster, and a Hunter. They
are poor arials, orphans the both of them, and I have promised them titles
and riches. Of course they will have neither, but they will serve me well.
My servant Karicel continues to please me. He seeks the dark magics of the
Scions. As long as he does not forget the oath he swore, and who is true
master is, I can let it slide. It could however, be used against me
politically, if any of the Theran Empire were to learn of it. It is of
little consequence, he is easily discarded.
Day of Freedom, 5th of the Month of the Winter Wolf
I have seen my queen. Her name is Kezawk. She is a squire of the Fortress
of Light, but I will have her as my own, all the same. Her plumage is quite
stunning. She is attracted to me, obviously, but rambles on about light and
dark. She will come to serve me, and bear me many children.
Day of the Moon, 3rd of the Month of the Grand Struggle
Many times I have gone before the throne of my Lord Enlilth. He has yet to
honor me with his presence, or even so much as a whisper. The High Priest
Jharazoul has spoken with him many times. I envy him in this. I must learn
his secrets on the matter. I must be wary with him, he is sharp of wit, and
powerful as well.
Day of the Sun, 2nd of the Month of the Battle
I am now an Elite Shadow of the Theran Empire. I must have more. Perhaps it
is time to push the human Loradanian off of his seat. He failed in his bid
for Emperor and allowed the drunkard Gvantulak to ascend the throne. He
shames the Shadow Sect.
Day of the Bull, 1st of the Month of Great Evil
I have heard rumors of the suicide of my servant Karicel. I am not sure I
believe them. I believe it to be some plot of my Father. Servants cannot be
trusted. Many months have also passed since I last heard from the others
that serve me. I will have to do this alone after all.

Day of Thunder, 2nd of the Month of the Sun
The God Emperor has spoken to me, and my full name has been made aware to
all. My reputation and power grow. He spoke only briefly, whispers from the
shadows, but it heartens me. I believe my rise to power is sanctioned by the
gods themselves. I will have the Throne of the Arials.
Day of the Bull, 4th of the Month of Futility
I know of a way to shame my father. If I can get Tweeliglik to agree to it.
She was once a man. If I could get her in front of him, and get him to chase
her, and then expose the whole thing in front of the court, I would gain much
support amongst the other nobles. Perhaps even avoid a civil war.
Day of the Great Gods, 1st of the Month of the Dragon
I have come to a very loose truce with Shiloh. I have promised him the
secret power deep within the Arial Imperial Palace. I don't even know if it
is real or not.I heard rumors, but only rumors. Never have I seen or heard
anything tangible. I would bet it is there, and I certainly don't intend to
share the power with him. But he doesn't need to know that. He speaks of
eyes and ears within the sect. With what I could gather from the High
Priest, I do not doubt him. I must get to the bottom of it.
Day of the Moon, 1st of the Month of the Dark Shades
I have a brother. Thraris Nightchild, an Acolyte of the Golden Sun. I
intend to use him as I can, to use his empathy to my gain. When the time is
right, he must suffer the same fate as my other half-brothers. I do find a
strange connection to him however, as both of us were effectively
disinherited. I must not let my emotions interfere with my plan.
Additionally, it seems Kezawk may be coming around to my charms. I will have
to use Thraris to my advantage in this as well.

Day of the Moon, 4th of the Month of Long Shadows
My health if failing me. I will not let this pass. I will do whatever I
must, pay any price to continue to live. There are too many things I
must accomplish, heights that I must reach. I will be Shadow Lord. I will
unseat my father. I will claim the Throne of the Theran Empire.
Day of Freedom, 1st of the Month of Futility
It has come to my attention that I am being strongly considered to replace to
the recently deceased Shadow Lord. I must first however, reach the
pinnacle of my guild. I must have that seat. It will aid me in my quest for
the arial throne, I am certain. Additionally, from there I can
better engineer things within the Empire, and the other factions. My
standing remains high with many arials in the realm. Let us hope my
strength does not fail me before my ascension.

Excerpts form the private journal of Kyrilos Divumarchos follow.
Day of the Great Gods, 5th of the Month of the Great Evil
I am the Shadow Lord. I was angered to learn that the High Priest sought my
banishment from the Empire. I had supported him loyally thus far. No
longer. I will engineer his fall myself. He has foolishly underestimated
me. They all have foolishly underestimated me.
Day of the Sun, 3rd of the Month of the Dragon
It seems I do not have the favor of my Lord Enlilth. In what manner I may
have angered him, I am unsure. The High Priest flutters around the palace,
almost woman like, and flaunts the attentions my Lord gives him. It is
shameful, the limp-wristed, low-born walker. I must see him struck down.
Whether it angers my lord or no.
Day of Thunder, 1st of the Month of Winter
Thraris has revealed to me that we have an older brother. He says it was his
mentor amongst a secret organization in the city. He claims that this arial
is a legitimate son of our father. I must find a way to remove him. Nothing
will stand in my way. Not even the gods.
