Description

You see a tall, but slim figure of a young man before you. His heair is black as a raven's wing, his eyes are of a soft brown color. His face seems unnaturaly pale, and his lips look especially well outlined. His nose is straight and a bit longer than usual. A small tidy beard adorns his chin. His clothing looks a bit too fancy, but the coloring looks elegant enough. A small silver medallion adorns his neck. All in all, this man certainly doesn't look like a warrior. The best guess would be that he is a young nobleman or merchant.

Role

Laes, meet Katelyn

Added Mon Oct 6 06:12:13 2003 at level 13:
Dining table was served with various meals, including exotic ones.
"The boy is growing up", Avil said, turning to his wife. "Soon he
will need a teacher to help him with education". "Of course, dear",
agreed the Countess. "I have a good candidate for this position",
continued the Count. "Who is it, dear?", inquired Amelia.
"A woman by the name of Katelyn. My old friend recommended her as a
very talented person, gifted in many ways. I have invited her today".
Avil made a sign to a servant waiting near the door to the hall, and
the boy opened the door. A tall woman with long raven hair and sharp
features entered the hall, accompanied by another servant. Stepping
without making any noise at all, she approached the table. "Count",
said she in a soft murmuring voice, bowing deeply to Avil.
"Countess". She bowed to Amelia, bending less deeply. "I hope she
is not TOO gifted, dear", uttered the Countess, slightly shocked by
the appearance of the young woman.

Morning event

Added Sat Nov 8 03:44:24 2003 at level 40:
First rays of the sun marked the begginning of a new day. One by
one, servants and workers living in the castle yard shrugged off
morning laziness and get to work. Suddenly, a scream tore morning
idyl apart. When servants finally got to the barn where the scream
was heard, a gory picture drew their attention. One of the sheep
was lying in the pool of its own blood, its belly sliced by a sharp
weapon. Loosen ground near the pool of blood betrayed that poor
animal was convulsing for several hours as the blood was slowly
leaking from its body. However, as horrble as this even was, bad
memories tend to be forgotten with time...

On the road

Added Tue Apr 20 04:03:54 2004 at level 51:
Boy's disappearance didn't come unnoticed. Amelia raised her eyes,
full of tears, at her husband, Count Avil Leroy. No words were
necessary. "You were right, Amelia", said Avil, his face darkened
like a stormy sky. "We'd better forget that this boy was once our
beloved son. I shudder at thought that we might hear about him
again."
.
Meanwhile, in a small tavern not far from the castle Leroy, Laes
opened his eyes. He was completely alone, no sign of Katelyn was
found. Laes rushed down to interrogate bartender and barmaids, but
no one ever saw the woman leaving. Suddenly, Laes realized the true
meaning of Katelyn's words. "Looks like I will have to learn it the
hard way", he thought to himself. "I will not disappoint you,
Mistress".

Departure

Added Fri Apr 16 03:22:48 2004 at level 51:
"Now or never, honey", murmured Katelyn to Laes. "If you ever hope
to become a master assassin, you must learn to strike when the moment
is right. Your treachery will be revealed, sooner or later. We will
leave this home and continue our education in... another place, more
suited for it. Don't forget we will need money to survive, so grab
a few trinkets from your father's treasury, while you still can do
it". "I will do as you say, Mistress", answered Laes, swallowing
hard. A wicked grin momentrality brightened woman's face. "You show
signs of promise, boy. Maybe you are not so bad after all." With a
quick move she reached into her pocket and produced a small silver
pendant on a chain. "Let this pendant always remind you of me".
"I will never part with it, Katelyn!", said Laes with a true passion.

Crime and Punishment

Added Sat Nov 8 03:46:26 2003 at level 40:
"Get me a sack of wheat from the pantry, quickly", barked the chief
cook, turning to his assistant. Young boy did not hesitate a single
moment, and proceeded right to his destination. Right when he opened
the pantry's door, he stared in shock and horror at what he saw
inside. No scream left his throat, and his body went into convusions
as his stomach started to throw out its contents. One of the young
female servants was lying on the ground in the pool of blood, her
belly slashed exactly the way it was done to a poor animal a few days
before. Soon, the crowd of castle inhabitants gathered near the
corpse, too shocked by the horrid event to make anything. "Why are
you all standing here?", the Count Avil Leroy approached the crowd.
As soon as he cast a glance on the pantry interiors, his face became
darkened. Gloomy silence hung in mid-air. Laes Leroy approached his
father and leaning to him whispered several words. Avil's eyes
narrowed dangerously. "You'd better have your suspicions based on
a solid ground, my son", said Count quietly. "Nevertheless, let's
take a look". Followed by the crowd of servants, Avil made his way
to a nearby building where inhabitants of the castle were living. He
pushed the door Laes pointed to, and it swung open. A quick search
of the room revealed a long knife covered in blood drops and a symbol
of Satan. No explanation was necessary when Avil pointed at the boy
servant who lived in the room. Boy's eyes widened, his mouth opened,
but no scream came from it. The crowd silently followed two guards
who escorted the boy to the place of execution. The executioner was
skilled in his art, and one quick swing of his axe terminated boys'
existance.

Birth

Added Mon Sep 22 07:44:52 2003 at level 7:
Count Avil Leroy stood silently near a window. Peering through
the glass at a distant object, Avil was looking like he's made
of stone, and only his fingers, nervously drumming a window-sill,
betrayed his extreme uneasiness. Suddenly, a resonant voice broke
the sticky silence: "It's a boy!". A bright smile dawned Count's
face as he turned to a source of the voice. In a serie of gigantic
leaps he crossed the room, opening a stout oak door on his way like
a fluffy curtain. "His name will be Laes", stated the Count.
"Welcome to this world, son", he added with a soft smile on his
imperious features.
