Description

A large giant is here, covered from head to toe in gleaming armor. Various etched designs are imprinted on the armor and seem to encompass the entire pantheon of goodly beings. You see a phoenix floating over his left shoulder while a jaguar prowls down his right arm. A hammer wreathed in flame splits his back on an angle, and a brilliant white pegasus wraps around his right side. Finally, an angel floats above a mirror shimmering with a sunlit crest of waves on his upper-back. The giant itself is quite large and well-proportioned and stands with casual ease of one accustomed to warfare. The tiniest glint of emerald-green eyes and brilliant white hair are noticeable just beneath his helm as he shifts. Looking closer you notice...

Role

Character background (part 1)

Added Wed Oct 26 23:24:59 2011 at level 13:
Laesron Fhen-Gonddir was born to a small community of storm giants that
reside in a lesser travelled area of the Western Aryth. Far from most
communities, this small village has actually had a grand history with sending
warriors to the main continents to aid in whatever evil befalls them. Laesron
himself can trace his lineage back to the warriors that first besieged Mount
Kiadana, and on his mother's side those warrior-monks that first colonized the
lake northeast of Voralian.

It was within this community that valued virtue and combat above all that
Laesron was raised in, and began his life as a man. To many of the village, at
a certain age the men were asked to take the sharpened backbone of young
blue whale and find suitable prey. Laesron was, in his village's recorded
history, the third youngest male to ever undertake the "test" as it is known.
Even stranger, he came back with a dead sahuagin scout, a creature that had
not been seen in waters near the village in ages. Laesron was quiet and
humble about his accomplishment, but brought back with him a strange piece
of metal, worked with the symbols of many mythical creatures. He seemed not
to know how it came within his possession, nor where exactly he had battled
the scout.

After some period of reflective travels within the calm waters south of the
village, Laesron realized that he was different than most of the children born
in the area. His glory lay elsewhere, to continue the great tradition of his
bloodline. He told the rest of the village and was received pleasantly, and
wished the blessing of the Light in his journey.

Character background (part 2)

Added Wed Oct 26 23:29:03 2011 at level 13:
Laesron journied to Seantryn Modan after a period of years learning to fend
for himself in the wilderness. He was appalled by what he found there, and the
vice and degradation of the city disgusted him. He nearly came to blows with
a large minotaur near the Southern end of the city before being put on a ship
headed to Hamsah Mu'Tazz by a fortunate chance. As he watched the "horrid"
city of darkness from the bow of the ship, Laesron wondered if perhaps he had
made the wrong choice.

The battle ahead would all be confirm he had made the correct choice.

Laesron stood with the crushed bodies of several lumbering orcs at his feet.
The battle had come so furiously, but Laesron had no time to continue to
think about the glory that had come to him in battle. A large, bearded man
was yelling at him to get off the docks and make his way to the city. Laesron
clearly remembered the man reaching out a free hand and calling down the
wrath of his Lord on the orcs before the broken mast Laesron had used
clubbed them to their eventual demise. The ambush had lasted seconds, but
still, Laesron thought he could trust the man.

Character background (part 3)

Added Wed Oct 26 23:31:47 2011 at level 13:
After a time in Hamsah, he began travelling with Galadir Swiftblade the Pious
and his cadre of elite warrior-priests. Laesron began to have renewed
appreciation for the tremendous wars that raged across the land like a typhoon
out on the open ocean. Laesron did what he could in battle, eventually
earning the respect of the band with his stoic determination to never
surrender, to never retreat from battle unless victory was impossible. In time,
he worked up a decent enough skill with coventional weapons to become
a prospective apprentice within the Voralian warrior guild. The bands roots
were as peacekeepers that grew in stature and skill and branched out, so
the peaceful shining city was their home base.

Galadir told him one day that their time had come to an end. A great
Academy was waiting. 'Find yourself a great warrior Laesron! And learn
from him!' was the last thing he heard before a blinding white light.

Terms from his life in his village

Added Wed Oct 26 23:40:09 2011 at level 13:

Laesron's story (part 1)

Added Mon Jan 16 06:27:30 2012 at level 40:
Laesron continued to work within the guild, doing odd jobs for many that needed aid
and began to learn the ways of the warrior guild with exceding skill. Though his
dedication was evident, there were times when it was not enough, and he felt the
sting of defeat several times. It was after such a time that he first spoke with the mighty
warrior-priest of Iunna, Garwern Warpoldson. Laesron had heard the legends of the
mighty dwarf often in his travels, as the wicked duergar and fire giants of the guild spoke
openly of their fear of meeting the dwarf. Laesron saw one who could perhaps teach
him of the ways of righteous combat, and so a prospective friendship was born.

It was during these brief conversations that Garwern told Laesron about the Fortress
deep within the Redhorn mountains of like-minded soldiers, a place Laesron had
often dreamed of living. However, Laesron was unsure of himself. His poor form in
combat made him think himself perhaps unworthy, but as he listened to words of
Iunna's favored, his fears melted away and he began to realize that his destiny lie
within.

Laesron eventually spoke to Garwern of perhaps apprenticing underneath the dwarf
to better learn the ways of combat and the Fortress. Garwern himself was amused
but up for the charge, but before their training could begin, the dwarf was called to
join his ancestors within the Azure Fields. Laesron would have to find another.

Laesron's story (part 2)

Added Mon Jan 16 06:37:24 2012 at level 40:
Laesron continued to travel, continued to master his skills, and took upon a weapon
that he would make his preferred choice in any battle. Glaives, polearms, poleaxes.
These were weapons that suited his large size and his strength, allowing him
to keep his enemies at bay while he figured out a way to defeat them. He continued
to work upon the tasks set forth by some of the people he met in the world, and
continued to search for one who might take him as their apprentice in the ways of
Combat.

After a few years, he spoke with another warrior-priest, this time a priest of the
Spearmaiden named Caerdryn Blackstone. This was another who held the qualities
that Laesron sought to learn from, and in his talks with the human, he realized
that he was truly on the path that he had set out from his village to find. It was then
that Laesron knew he was ready, and walked deep into the Redhorn to pledge himself
to the Maran and their ways.

It was shortly after this that Laesron defeated a necromancer by the name
of Forid, and drove her from the lands. At first, Laesron felt sadness for seeing
such a tortured soul never find redemption, but as he contemplated her fate, he
realized that she had made the choices that led her to her life. All beings
were given the ability to decide how to live their life. All could choose redemption.
It was not Laesron's place to lead this tortured souls to redemption, for the only
redemption he knew of was in blood.

Laesron continued to train, and worked his skills until he felt he could be a true
soldier of righteousness. Finally, the powerful Captain of the Maran brought him
within the Halls of the Maran, and he was finally a Vnshuld to a cause he
believed in with all his heart.
