Description
Standing before you with skin of a golden hue, is an elven man.
His face is well defined and set with a look of determination.
Flowing brown hair is pulled back and tied into a tight ponytail
that hangs just down to his shoulders. Twin braids hang casually
down the side of his head, and lay quietly tucked behind the fine
pointed ears of his elven heritage. Adorning the lobes are what
appear to be two fine hoops of a mithril origin. Bright azure
eyes flash quiet amusement as they shift to take in everything
around him. His armor is a mixture of various styles, all tailored
to his muscular elven form to ensure comfort and mobility. His
movements appear graceful, and he seems to be in a cheerful mood.

Reality hits hard
His training was hard, his devotion to the guild tested many times, but his
will to succeed was strong, and his heart was big. He gave everything he had to
his training and soon his love and passion for her telaryllana turned into respect
and admiration. As his training was nearing its completion, wanderlust began to creep
into the heart of this now growing young elf. As with many, he set out on his path
to find his way among the light and to succeed in becoming a holy knight. Maybe along
the way he could paint a picture or two for the ladies, who knows, while her vows were
strong in remaining celibate, his weren't, and his time was now to move on and to live life.
His chance to be a hero is now, and he embraces it fully.
Himself

Lathan has never had a rough life. The only child of a minstel and a craftsman
he was pampered for most of his life, given all of the fine things any young elf
could ever want. He was popular among his peers within the vale of darsylon, and
he always seemed able to attract the ladies. This wasn't enough for lathan though,
throughout his life he always took a keen interest in the stories told by his mother
and by the other storytellers he heard at festivals and gatherings. Stories of
stoic knights, of fierce warriors of the light. Folks who sacrificed everything to
keep the good people of thera safe from tyranny, and darkness. With wonder he would
listen to these tales, secretly wishing himself to be the one the story was being
told about. Lathan the Grand Knight! Lathan the Master Bard! Lathan the Hero!
At night, he would dream of these grand thoughts, during the day he wondered what it
be like to be famous, he imagined how the people would embrace him, and all of the
grand battles he would have been in, and all of the wonderous deeds he would have done.
But alas, Lathan was a dreamer at best, or at least thats what he told himself.
Only time would tell if he has what it takes to be a Hero, though in youth, his interests
remained focused on the arts of painting and sculpting as he could.

Interests
His mother taught him how to manipulate paints on a canvas, and she also taught him
the gentle touch needed to form a hard piece of clay into a masterpiece. Unfortunately,
he wasn't very good at either. He tried as he could, showing for of an affinity
to painting than anything else, but still, some people made fun of his attempts and
others just made kind comments to cover the fact that he wasn't all that good.
Still, what better way to get a fine elven lass alone then to ask her if you could paint
her portrait, or create her with a lump of clay. This was his angle, and he pursued it
with all his heart.
A fatal mistake in judgement and the beginning

Lathan found himself infatuated with the Guildmaster of the Paladin guild.
Telaryllana was beautiful to his eyes, and very graceful and delicate.
His attempts at courting were met with unfavorable results, and a deepening
want for her. She was much older than he was, but he didn't care. Love
knew no boundaries. In one last ditch effort to have her, Lathan asked if he
could paint her portrait, and she agreed, though she remained wary of his wily
charms and clumsy advances. Realizing his ploy, she sat him down and told him
the hard truth about his art, and about her vows, and while she was flattered
nothing would ever happen between the two of them. She could see a lot of
promise in him, his big heart, his stubborness in never giving up. So she
offered him a position as a squire in her guild. He eagerly accepted, anything
to be close to her, and soon his training to be a holy knight began.
