Description
Before you is a beautiful elf, slight of stature. She carries herself with
remarkable grace and an edge that seems vigilant and ready. The armor which
she bears is of a variety representing many various parts of the land, but
with the commonality of design for heavy battle. Her hair is of beautiful
golden blonde, but oddly in a bit of frazzled disarray. In stark contrast
are her piercing blue eyes, which seem sharp and focused, seeking out her
goals and objectives with steadfast intensity.
Role
The Transformation of a Young Girl
Added Thu Aug 4 12:25:26 2005 at level 10:
Laurendia Ki'Avari was not born a warrior. Raised at the orphanage of
balator, as she grew into an older and beautiful young girl, she had a daily
task to which she must set about with a vigor: Cooking. She might not have
been the worlds' fanciest or most experiened cook, but it was something she
did with duty and devotion, assisting the head cooks at the orphanage morning
and night so that food and soup would come to the plates of her fellow
orphans.
Life was much simpler at first. However, in the lands of Thera, nothing
stays simple forever. Oh the orphanage was known to have had attacks on it
in the past, but the months seemed particularly bad now and it seemed to grow
worse and worse without end. Jaragh was a very old knight and while he had
much wisdom to offer, he could not fight the endless battle against the
incursions.
Inevitably, blood was often spilled at the orphanage. It begin to be taken
matter of fact, and almost came to be accepted as a part of life that just
couldn't be helped. Laurendia Ki'avari, had no other family to her. A
surname of a house with no other line known only by Jaragh, the orphanage was
her home and all she had ever known. Yet it seemed that complacency and no
action was to be found at the Orphange of Balator. The passive acceptence of
the evil visitors begin to draw fire and a need for change within Laurendia's
soul.
Laurendia Ki'avari would stare out the window, watching to warn the orphans
into hiding when another raid was expected. How she wished to rise up
against the evil in this world. She became frustrated with the lawlessnes of
Balator. And the imperials? They kept so close, drew on the resources of
Balator, taxed the roads, yet they were as guilty as supporting the raids as
any!
Laurendia Ki'avari had no more training that with pots and pans. But a day
came when she took her first important step and visited the young students of
Thrym's school to put down her pots and pans and take up a sword. She would
take this sword and with faith in Lord Shokai whom Jaragh spoke so highly of,
would bring retribution and destruction to the Wicked.
In recollection, maybe the history books will right this was her second step
of importance. For that day, when she looked out the window, something had
changed in young Laurendia. A change that would begin the shaping of the
beautiful woman she would become, fighting evil in the hardest of the worlds'
coming days.
An Orphanage Grown Small
Added Fri Aug 5 12:16:08 2005 at level 15:
The balator orphanage, the home I have always known, seems different to me on
this day. I returned to it for the first time in quite a while, but this
time not as Laurendia the helpless orphan.
Zaxdreg, the sneaky anti-paladin, bloodoath of the Empire was attacking and
slaying orphans mercilessly. I chased him off several times, but he kept
returning and returning to lay waste to those I had grown up with.
With the new sword I had trained hard to learn, armed with my faith in Lord
Shokai, I was able to bring him down and end the assault with his
destruction.
Pleasure at his kill? Nay, I did not feel that....but rather, a sense that
something was right in the world. That here, in this small corner of our
world, the light was a little brighter and retribution had been served.
But yet as I looked around at my fellow orphans, many in shock, it became
clear that the orphanage looked different. The walls were smaller,
everything seemed so tiny, the rooms and hallways, not so big at all. This
was a beginning, but just a small part of the true wickedness that the world
faces. The true wickedness that must be dealt with by those brave enough and
determined to train and hone themselves with the tools necessary to take on
this burden.
Do not give in to Tyrany and Terror

While in my guildhall, skizz the bloodoath came to Darsylon.
Indeed, my soul revolted at his presence, he was much more
powerful than I, so much that the Gods would not let me do
battle with him.
He came to the Paladin Guild and layed assault, I immediately
came out and began to heal the paladin, at which point he fled
and returned. See his threat not but a taunt, I returned to the
guild. He then began to threaten me, that I must come to him,
follow, and listen to his speech or he would slay all the citizens.
My heart cried out to come, none were near, and there was no
danger to myself. But to do so, would be to give into his tyrrany
and threats. To empower his torture, to empower his blackmail.
It was one of the most difficult shows of restraint I have
encountered in my life, but wisdom came to me and it proved to be
the right decision, to temper my hearts strings with careful thought.
He was focusing on citiezens, that which my healing could not aid
before they were nearly slayed instantly. He nearly immediately
cursed me when he knew his blackmail and threats would not work. It
was then at this dismay, that he left the City of Darsylon, leaving
the elves unharmed and in peace.
I will remember this, but I will also remember my oath to train hard
and defeat this Imperial Skizz, this vile and treacherous human murderer.
Innocents and Law
Added Mon Aug 8 23:36:08 2005 at level 25:
Surrounded by elven guards who stared grimly at me, I was forced
to perform my own ceremony of death. Elves value highly life,
but far worse would have been the bloodshed as my kin sought to bring
me down. It was hard on my body, but it serves as a reminder
that the law protects many innocents, and those who disobey the
law are forced into confrontation against the benevolent.
Let this be a painful reminder of why we observe the laws of the
cities.
