Description

A strong hint of age shows on this gnome as he stands here holding a staff in one hand and a brown, worn, leathery book without a title in the other. His clothing is all loosly garbed about him, yet you can still manage to notice that he has a small, thin build. He has several scars on his skin that are visible and most likly many more that are not. His body and posture are well kempt and give off a dignified look. A crimson red girdle wraps around his waste with several sheets of parchment sticking out. Several other various pouches dangle from his waist though most seem nearly empty. This gnome appears old and tattered, and yet he seems young and giddy.

Role

The Begining

Added Fri Apr 16 20:02:33 2004 at level 51:
Far away in the lands to the far North...
Inside a tavern in thsi strange land is many creatures, most of which appear
to be gnomes. The hustle and bustle of the tavern appears to be rather normal
for a place such as this. The customers here all seem rather peaceful and kind
and full of happiness. Behind the bar you see a rather stout gnome that appears
to be the owner. He's a short, stocky fellow that appears to be able to
handle any fights that may break out. He has a grim yet cheerful look on his
face and you notice many scars that run across his face and several smaller
ones that run across his neck.
A loud clash of dishes breaks your concentration on the gnome as he goes into
the back. The room begins to quite as if listening.
"Lemath, you bloody fool! How many times can you drop those damn dishes?"
"Sorry father, it was an accident. I promise it won't happen again."
"You had better hope it don't or you'll be out on your ass tonight."
The room gets loud again just in time for the owner to come back out.
Following him is a young gnome, short in stature and light in build. He carries
a tray with food and mugs filled with a light colored ale. He seems rather
clumbsy as he walks, barely avoiding the customers. He serves a table then
moves over to another and cleans it. On his way back he begins to
stumble over a customers bad on the floor. The customer catches him before he
falls and pats him on the back.
"Becareful there Lemath, your father's not the same without your mother around.
That ale is makin him pretty different and for the worst. Just becareful there
mate, watch whats in front of you and know your surroundings. Remember that
and you'll be fine."
"Thanks Talat, he'da got me for sure that time. Thanks again and I'll try to
remember that."
He begins to walk away but gets tripped up on his own feet and falls to the
floor with a loud clatter of dishes. The room grows extremely silent as the
owner leaves the bar and begins walking over to Lemath. The waiter begins
picking up the dishes rather frantically but before he finishes the owner places
a swift kick to the smaller gnomes ribs. You hear a short cry and see the
waiter sent sprawling back several feet.
"You bloody fool, get outta here and go home. I'm tired of you trashing this
place more than the drunks and the fights!"
A few more gasps of breath follow from the small gnome and he begins to speak.
"I said GET OUT! NOW!"

Past History

Added Wed May 12 19:57:13 2004 at level 51:
As the night continues on, the tavern slowly grows quiet and empty. The last customer
leaves as the stout gnome closes up the tavern. As he walks back to clean the bar a loud
knocking can be heard coming from the door.
"We're closed for the night. Come back tomorrow!"
You hear a familiar voice yell, "I'm not here for the drinks gnome! We need to speak!"
"Is that you Talat?"
"Yes, now open this bloody door before I have to!"
"Alright, alright, I'm bloody commin so settle yerself a bit."
The gnome walks over to the door and moves the tables out from infront of it and allows it
to swing open.
"Make it quick Talat, I've got to be goin home an deal with that bloody nuisance Lemath."
"That is what we need to speak on. Your to rouch on the boy. He has no mother at all and you
speak to him with hatred. He has it rough and he won't put up with it much longer!"
"Don't tell me how to treat him, he's my son!"
"Fine then you stubborn fool, but if you want him to stick around you'll have to stop your
drinkin."
"My drinkin ain't got nothing to do with anything!"
"Perhaps though it has affected your life and your family, when you kicked Lemath that
was due to your alcohol."
"Hrmph, he deserved it, the bloody nuisance."
"Like she deserved it when you were drunk and hit her?"
"Leave her out of this Talat, she has nothing to do with it!"
"If you hadn't been drunk you old fool, you wouldn't of hit her and she wouldn't of left and
had she not left she would still be alive!"
"I said do not speak of her!!!"
The gnome turns and runs out of the tavern with a rather quick haste about him.

The Adventure Begins

Added Thu May 13 16:13:16 2004 at level 51:
The stout gnome is seen entering a small hut outside the western edge of the city.
As he enters Lemath can be seen peeking out of a door on the opposite side of the house.
"Lemath, come out here son. I think we need to speak."
The small gnome opens the door and slowly walks out, you catch a small glimpse of him
reaching for his chest weither out of pain or remembrance.
"What do you have to talk to me about father?"
"Well I know things are harder without your mother here, and I understand you might not
like working in the Tavern. But you still can't trash the place, it's our living. Without
that Tavern we'd be broke and living on the streets."
"Father, if you'd stop drinking we'd nearly run this town and we might of been able to
stop....mother's dieing."
"So you think her dieing is my fault to? I keep you alive and off the streets by running
this tavern and you think it's my fault she died?!"
"I.."
Before the Lemath can finish he is knocked to the ground by the stout gnome.
"I don't want to hear your whining anymore! You'll go to your room and get some sleep
and tomorrow we'll pretend this never happened."
"No."
"What did you say?"
"I said no, we always pretend this didn't happen and we always pretend mother didn't happen.
You hit her and she left. You've hit me many times and I've not left you yet because
I know your better than this father!"
"So now you believe I'm something that I'm not and you want to lecture me?! Get out!
Leave! I don't want you hear anymore!"
"So you want me to leave like mother? You want to risk me being killed like her?!"
"I don't care you bloody bastard get out and don't ever come back! Try to fend for yourself
and see how it works! You'll never amount to anything, your just a nuisance!"
"I'll prove you wrong father, I will be known to the lands and I will travel to places
you've only told me stories about that you heard from your father! Your the one that's
never amounted to nothing!"
Lemath walks away into the door opposite the entrance and shortly after returns and walks out
of the hut with bag.
"I'll prove you wrong father, you'll see, then I'll return and we'll see what you think."
