Description
This tiny little Gnome is a strange sight to see! Instead of hair on
his head, he has red feathers sticking out the top of his head! His
hands seem to keep nervously smoothing the feather back down to his head.
He stands just under three feet in height and has large, round gray eyes.
Affixed to his chest is a silver badge with the words "Provincial" writing
in gold block lettering. He tends to move in jittery type motions, not
walking very smoothly or in a very coordinated manner. You get the
impression he does not feel very comfortable in his own body.
Role
Failures of the Father - Part I
Added Tue Feb 10 21:45:16 2009 at level 51:
While Lenfelin was still only learning his early forms, his father was still studying his texts
on Griffins. Finally, after years of dedicated study and investigation, his father was ready
to attempt to try and revert one of his former colleagues to their true form.
Traveling to the top of a mountain within the Jade's as an eagle, his father slowly descended
to the mouth of a massive cave. He had heard rumor of a large creature flying about this area
of the lands and thought it may be in fact, a Griffin. Landing just above the cave, he looked
down and saw large scratch marks at the entrance. It was as if something large had slide to
to a stop using its claws. Unknown to his father, a large firefly was also flying about the
mountain, but instead of watching the cave, it was watching the eagle. Lenfelin was not suppose
to be there, but he followed his father anyway. There was no way he was going to miss the
chance to see the creature he almost became.
His father slowly dropped down to the mouth of the cave and transformed himself back to his true
form, hoping his old colleague might be able to remember him. Slowly, ever so slowly and
cautiously, his father entered the cave. Lenfelin quickly flew to the spot his father had been
perched and listened intently. When he could hear nothing, he also flew down to the mouth.
Instead of reverting to his true form though, he changed to the new form he just learned, that of
of a Badger.
Slowly entering the cave, Lenfelin tried to stay as much to the side as he could. Up ahead,
Lenfelin could just make out the form of his father. Creeping as close as he could, Lenfelin
then moved off to the right where a low over hang was. He had just settled in when he heard his
father say "Lenfelin, there is a place over to the left that you will be able to burrow yourself
into if you insist on staying. But you are not to come out no matter what happens" His father
then turned around and looked him in the eyes. "Is that completely understood?" Nodding, ashamed
that his father was so easily able to figure out he was there, Lenfelin moved to the spot his father
indicated and created a burrow for himself to watch from.
"Gretlini, I know you can hear me! It is your old friend Twivindel Harventik! I have come to help
you my dear, please come where I can see you!"
For a bit, nothing happened, nothing stirred at all within the cave. Lenfelin's father stood
completely still. Suddenly, a massive head, shaped like an eagle, came out of the darkness and snapped
it's powerful jaws, just above his father's head. It quickly retreated back into the depths of the cave.
His father never moved an inch.
More time passed, his father still never moved. Finally, after what seemed like hours, a the massive
eagle's head loomed slowly out of the darkness; when it finished moving, barely two inches were between
the beak and his father's chest.
Lenfelin's first Forms

Lenfelin never lost his fascination with both powerful animals or birds. In fact, he became even
more excited about the prospect of being able to successfully turn into one. He heeded his
father's words and instead of just jumping into trying to shapeshift himself again, he took his
time and studied. Believing he had taught him everything he could for now, his father sent him
to an academy to help complete his training.
Lenfelin went to the academy and began his training in earnest. It was a time of great learning
within the lands. The Gods above granted all those who wished to become adventures the gift of
advanced learning. Having already begun much of his studies with his father already, Lenfelin was
able to quickly climb within the guild of the Shapeshifters.
When the guildmasters granted apon him his first form, that of an Soldier Ant, Lenfelin could
not have been more excited. Wandering the lands with his new friends, Barbakle, another Gnome
within his guild, and the warrior Waramanga, the three learned quickly all that they could.
As they grew, the guildmasters saw fit to entrust Lenfelin with more powerful forms, forms that
would strike with more accuracy and pain. A Panther was the second form he was granted, powerful
claws that would tear at his enemies.
Once apon a Gnome.

When Lenfelin was younger, he was always fascinated with both his father's profession and Birds.
His father was a powerful Shapeshifter and was able to take the forms of many different types of
animals, includes different birds. It was the birds that Lenfelin most enjoyed watching his
father transform into. After he would transfer back to his true form, his father would tell him
what it was like to soar the air current and be able to spy a mouse running through a plain from
far in the air.
One day, Lenfelin got it into his head that he should attempt to transform himself into a bird so
that he would be able to fly the skies with his father. While his father was sleeping, Lenfelin
snuck into his father's study and found a book with a picture of a winged creature on the cover.
Taking the book away into his room, Lenfelin began studing over the ancient text. After hours
of pouring over it, Lenfelin mistakenly thought he understood how to complete the transformation.
After preparing himself the way he always saw his father prepare himself before a transformation,
he begin the proccess as he learned from the text. No sooner had he began, than he knew something
was very wrong. Screaming out in pain, Lenfelin felt his bones begin to snap and break as they
attempted to complete what he intended. His head started to change, he began growing a beak and
feather began sprouting on his head. It fealt like his sides were splitting apart. At the sound
of his screaming, his father came running. As he entered the room, he saw the book sitting in
front of his changing sun. With a cry of fear, he ran upto Lenfelin and began casting a spell of
cancellation to attempt to halt his son's transformation. As his father completed the spell, Lenfelin
screamed out in pain even louder as the pain seemed to intensify ten fold. Slowly, the pain in
in his side began to subside, his head began to return to it's normal shape, and his bones reformed
back to their original state.
After Lenfelin completed his transformation back, his father began to explain to him what, exactly,
the text he was studing was. "A Griffin, An extremely powerful flying animal with devestating
offensive and aerial abilities. Few have ever even attempted the transformation and even less
have survived through its completion! The problem is, only one has ever maintained enough of his
self to ever be able to revert to his true self. I was studing the text only for the purpose of
hoping to perhaps help those that became a Griffin revert back to themselves. It in only through
these studies that I was able to transform you back. Although it seems I was not completely
successful." Lenfelin wondered what his father meant until he pointed to his head. Reaching up,
Lenfelin's fingers brushed against something... strange. Feathers! There were feathers still
atop of his head! "I believe I could possible remove them from your head, but I think perhaps it
would do you better to have a reminder in your life that without the order and discipline in your
life, chaos will be allowed to take hold. Once chaos it allowed to do such, there is no telling
who, or what, is may damage. Let those feathers always be your reminder of this."
