Description

Before you stands a fela of medium height and stocky build. His face is covered with light golden fur and the fur on his head is a slightly darker gold. The fur on his arms and legs is the same color as his facial hair, but it is much thicker where it sticks out from his equipment. As you look closer you notice that some of his hair is turning a whitish-gray color. His arms and legs are muscular, but dont quite fit his armor like they used to. The claws on his feet and hands have been sharpened to make them more deadly. His eyes are the color of the blackest opals with a small hint of red around the irises. His eyes have the look of years around them, and you gather a sense of knowledge when you study his expression. He has a warm smile with his front teeth sticking a little bit over his bottom lip. A sword is strapped across his back and he carries a shield in one arm. Stuck behind his belt is a small dagger. As you look closer you notice that...

Surias Diary - A sad husband.

Lerzion is the saddest that I have ever seen him when coming home from an
event at the village.  I have tried cheering him up in different ways and
even the little ones only make him smile slightly.  Ive even tried some of
his favorite things and I cant even get his tail to twitch.  He just seems
so resigned to mope about today.  Ive resolved to let him stew a bit and
work out his aggression on the practice dummies in the back.  They are
certainly taking a beating, or at least, that is how it seems.  It is
unfortunate to see him this way after he said he had a good meeting with the
Lord of the Flaming Crown.  It must be related to that Trial of Legends or
perhaps this war with the Fortress.  I know the latter was heavy on his heart
lately.

Surias Diary - Day two of a sad husband.

Well, he seems to be moping a little less this morning. I had the litter
bring him breakfast in bed and there is nothing like a bit of fresh salmon to
brighten a felas day.  He has been such a good husband, providing for us,
and trying to run a business while serving the village. I got him to open up
a bit during the litters nap, but Im not sure he is telling me everything
yet.  It seems the war with the Fortress was heavy on his heart, but that he
was disappointed at the outcome of the trial.  I read the news that said he
won one battle and lost one, but he said that wasnt accurate.  He said he
was very close to Djabree and that he actually defeated Dhaath in the last
round of combat while Djabree defeated the commander.  He said that the
commander chose Dhaath over him even though Dhaath answered fewer questions
correctly, and lost to him in melee combat.  He seems to think the Commander
has something against him, and that he must press on.  I told him I doubted
it was true, but that Dhaath just had more longevity than he did.  He
shrugged at me, but said I was probably right.

Surias Diary  - Day three with a sad husband.

I think that talking about it helped my Lerzy.  He definitely was more cheery
today and romped about with the little ones more than he has in a few days.
He hugged and kissed me on his way out the door and said thanks.  I didnt
let him go though without a last parting comment from him.  He explained to
me that he does what he does and expects nothing in return.  He knows that
even if the Commander doesnt give him credit, his fellow villagers do, and
they look to him for information, support, and help when needed.  Im just
glad that he knows his place and his value, and that it isnt based on some
other womans opinion of him.  Only mine matters in that regard!

Rimefang the Great White Dragon

A small fela can be seen running about in front of the fire while his dads
paws are propped up one on top of the other.  The boys eyes are lit with
delight as he chases after his sisters. They all look about the same age,
but there is only one boy, and three little girls.  The dad, obviously
content, smokes a pipe and reads the local Galadon Gazette.  His sketched
picture is on the front page with large bold letters proclaiming "Slayer of
the Great White Terror."  A smaller sketch shows a number of other legends
from around the lands below his picture.  On a couch next to him a beautiful
fela winks at the dad and stands.  She begins to herd the children in the
direction of a hallway off the main room.  The children look sullen, as it is
obvious they are being driven to bed.  They all look to their father
pleadingly as they make their way down the hall.  With a twinkle in his eye
he stands and points to the sketch of himself with a questioning glance.  The
children nod their heads vigorously at their father.  One of the felas ears
flattens down as he ponders their request, then a small little nod toward the
children sends them into a frenzy of fur as they fly down the hallway.  All
four children go running into one room and hastily change and jump into a
large bed.  The father quickly grabs a wrapped bundle and makes his way to
the bedroom.  He sits down in a chair near the bed and begins to tell a tale...

The night was beautiful outside as many of us made our way to the Inn of the
Eternal Star.  It was to be a lighthearted night of jokes and ale.  The event
was attended by many from all walks, and a mood of peace was about the place

as the goddess Iunna was there.(At the mention of the goddess, Suria raises
an eyebrow at Lerzion.)We told lots of jokes, and even I told one or two.
They were of course the best as you can imagine. (Suria again raises an
eyebrow at Lerzion and rolls her eyes in a fond way.)  As the night wore on
the festivities were picking up and a great song could be heard across the
land.  It was coming from an eastern sea and suddenly a previous unknown
goddess made herself known to us.  She was carrying an instrument and played
a merry tune for us.  It was a grand time as the Lady Neltouda was introduced
to all of us.  The merriment was bound to end as the dawn approached.

Just as many of us were looking to head to the comforts of our homes an
unnatural fog crept over the lands.  I noticed right away it was a magical
fog and so I kept my ears open for something unnatural. While I had stepped
out from the Inn it seems a storm of small dragons came biting at the crowd.
Howls could be heard from the onlookers there.  In Galadon a prophet shouted
signs of doom and in the north the paladins and giants fought against a great
explosion of ice.  I arrived just as the dragon bit the King of the Giants
and killed him. I took up my sword and shield.(Just as he says this,
Lerzion unwraps the bundle to reveal his prized saber, and hefts a shield as
he stands to imitate his actions.)  The dragon quickly came for me in a
flurry of claws and icy bites.  I entered the trance of my learning and
engaged the dragon with full force.  He was beating me soundly,

Journal 2 - Slow Days

I was sitting at my desk contemplating all the events of the day.  I hadnt
found much work outside of my villager duties, so that was beginning to grate
on me.  My tail was twitching in an agitated fashion as I perused the mail
that had come that day. Bills, lots of bills, and me with no jobs to pay for
them.  Suria keeps telling me that things are going to be fine, but I can
hear the worry behind those words.  After all, she is three months pregnant
with our first litter.  It hasnt been long since I rehung my fathers
shingle outside of the rebuilt building in Galadon.  Already Im having
thoughts of relocating. It was during that unpleasant thought that I came
across a neatly signed letter that could only be from my mother.  It was
addressed to "My Little Ler," after all.  I couldnt help but growl in
amusement as I opened the seal with my claw.  The usual preamble filled the
beginning of the letter.  Things about dad eating some catnip and not giving
her much peace.The basic Lionsclaw drama, some of which, the catnip in
particular, I didnt care to read about.  As I came to the end of my mothers
portion of the letter I noticed that my father had written a few lines.I
went on to read...

My son,

I hear such good things coming from my old friends who still linger about the
village.  I am glad to hear that you have obtained the pinnacle of your guild
and have gained the respect of your peers.  I hear even some surly dwarves
admire your ability!  Those stumpy, smelly, bearded folk are usually hard to
impress.  I am excited to meet my first litter of grandchildren.  I hope they
have Surias looks, just kidding.  How is the business going?  Times can be
tough, but Im sure you can manage and pull through.  Galadon can be a hard
place to have a business when your other line of work sometimes puts you at
odds with its laws.  Keep at it though, it wont be long until the mayor
comes knocking on your door with a job. You have good wits about you, you
always have.  Your exploits even reach my ears and I am glad to hear of it.

I closed the letter that ended with the typical we love you, were proud of
you, blah blah blah.  I dont mind reading those things of course, but now I
was perplexed.  Looks like Ill have to fight more dragons to keep the
business afloat and prepare the hut for the arrival of our first litter.
Just as I finished these thoughts and started to brood once again, my nose
caught the smell of something delicious.  It seemed my little Suria had
cooked me some salmon and dinner was served!  With a sigh and a chuckle I put
the letter in my desk and went to greet my beautiful wife.

Journal 1 - Love Lost, Love Found (part 2)

The scene in her home was something out of an Eshval followers dream dcor.
Pentagrams adorned four walls and the scent of blood was strong.  The sickly
sweet stench of it was almost enough to toss back up the tuna sandwich I had
for lunch.  Suria began crying again when she saw the blood, but I assured
her it was not her fathers.  It was definitely too dark to be fela blood, but
why would they have brought someone elses?  I looked down to find there were
tracks in the ground, some of them paw prints, but not those of any fela.  I
left Suria at the local inn and followed the tracks from her home.  They lead
into the desert near the temple in the sands.  I followed the nearly to the
rocky hills of the Tahril mountains, but they went where I had been hoping
they would not. As I approached the chasm I could hear screaming from
within, there was still hope!  I quickly impaled the shadowy nightwalker on
my spear. The foul beast from the nether worlds did not take long to die.  As
I made my way to the bowels of the chasm there came loud chanting.  I turned
the corner just in time to watch the dagger extract the heart of Surias
father. The screaming was at an end, but my blood was fire.  Brandishing my
spear I laid waste to the foul mages who had killed Surias father.  I knew
this wouldnt do much to help this situation, but mages deserve only one fate
and the dance of fire enveloped them.

I left the gruesome scene, not bothering to bury the dead as they did not
deserve such respect, and headed back to where I had left Suria.  I related
to her the story and she collapsed into my arms, fainting dead away.  I
lifted her up and cradled her in my arms as I walked her to the rooms bed.
I gently laid her down and tucked the blanket in around her.  I then took up
a position in the chair nearby watching out into the night, and seeing the
moonlight radiate off her golden hair.  She was beautiful, and I was in love.
An odd thing at such a tragic time.  After awhile I dozed off and awoke to
find those beautiful ruby eyes staring at me from the bed.  The sadness from
those eyes had left, and a smoky look entered them.  Suria motioned me to the
bed, and I was no longer thinking about stickball.  It was one of the worst
and best days of my life.

Journal 1 - Love Lost, Love Found (part 1)

The day was like any other, or so I thought.  Business has been slow lately
as the tribunals have really be cracking down on illicit activity and the
stupid imperials are exerting their domination. I was just sitting there at
my desk in Galadon waiting for a bit of work to come my way.  Id grown weary
of the same old lost pet cases and tailing spouses.  It was a hot day, the
kind of hot that makes you want to sit back with a jug of fresh milk and a
salmon sandwich.  I had just lit a nice cigar and had kicked my claws up onto
my desk when a wave of hot air came rushing in through the door.  As the
smoke cleared from in front of my face my eyes beheld the most beautiful
young fela.  Her eyes were like sparkling rubies and I could get lost in them
forever.  Her claws were well manicured and painted a deep red. My eyes
about popped out of my head as she sauntered into the room.  She had long
flowing beautiful blonde hair going all the way down her back.  Her top was
cropped short and left little to the imagination, and boy was my imagination
going wild.  If that wasnt enough, she turned toward the window to gaze out
it and I caught a glimpse of her tail.  Her sweet succulent blonde tail was
poking out from her small dress.  She swayed that beautiful tail in the light
just so and my feet slipped off the table as I leaned forward to get a better
look.  The desk suddenly came rushing toward my head, or perhaps the other
way around.  Everything went black as the solid wood of the desk proved
stronger than the front of my head.

The next thing I know is Im coming out of a great dream with fela feeding me
sardines and keeping my mug full of the freshest milk.  The waking was all
right though, as I found myself face to face with those ruby eyes.  Her body
was straddled over mine and her tail was lying across my chest. I about
fainted again at the sight of that luscious, curvaceous tail.  She looked me
in the eye and said she wanted my help, I gulped hard and shifted my body a
bit so I wasnt so directly connected with her. The hair on my tail must
have been standing on end, because she nervously giggled at the sight of it.
If she could have seen my cheeks they would have been as red as her eyes.  I
couldnt form any words as all the moisture had fled by mouth, but I could
awkwardly nod my head like a fool.  She said she couldnt pay much but I was
so lovestruck that I said whatever she could do was fine.  She winked at me
and began to get off of me.  As she stood her tail flicked under my nose and
my tail stood straight at attention out to the side.  Again the nervous
giggle came out, but man did she have the fire in my blood boiling.  I tried
to play it cool as I moved to my desk, but how can you play it cool with a
tail frisking about showing the excitement of my beating heart. She was a
lioness and I was caught like a sick antelope.

I sat down in my chair and started to think about the game I used to play as
a child in the streets of Galadon.  Stickball was a fun game and it
definitely helped divert my attention as I thought about it.  My tail was
finally under control and I made sure to sit on it to keep from showing my
affection.  The vixen in front of me must have noticed because she sat on the
edge of my desk with her legs cross

The beginning of Passion.

It was a gloomy day in Galadon. The clouds were dark and ominous and a light
drizzle had just begun. As the day wore on the sound of rain became louder
and louder on the tiles of our little stores roof.  My dad was at his desk
like always and I was reading through herald missives and stories from the
local news of all the major cities.  Some of the papers were a little old,
especially the one from Seantryn as it had come a long way.  My father keeps
telling me that one of these days he is going to take me there and show me
the great palace of the Empress.  He says he saw her once from a distance and
that she was radiant in a dark way.  I dont know that I believe him, he
tells a lot of stories. Of course, he always makes sure I know that it was
from his days as a villager, before he retired to be a private eye full time.
It seems like such boring work, what he does.  Like he says though, it pays
the bills, and sometimes, its exciting. All I ever hear are stories.  Grand
stories, mind you, but stories all the same.  Dragons and wizards, warlocks
and goblins, are not uncommon to hear from him. He has toned down his
storytelling a bit lately.  I think it is because he knows I will be choosing
a guild soon.  Im fast approaching my thirteenth birthday after all.

The stories have lessened, but our sparring with weapons has increased.
Every now and then when things are slow he will set the bell on the door and
we will go into the back room of the store.  Since we dont deal in goods
like other retailers, we have a large storage area that he turned into a
personal gym.  Lately I have really grown accustomed to the spear and stave.
He offers me great compliments on the speed of my hands with them.  I think
he is secretly hoping that I will take up his specialty from the guild of
warriors.  Being the good father that he is though, he knows it would go a
long way should I choose a more stealthy profession.  He doesnt have to warn
me about magic, so Im sure he isnt worried about me choosing a magical
guild.  Looking back, all those sleepless nights I had as a child because of
the nightmares of his story really did the job. Mom used to scold him for
it, but I think deep down they both knew it was the right thing to do. So
many of our race have been giving in to the sweet seduction that magic
offers. I know enough to know that once you start down that path, it only
ends in your inevitable quest for more and more, only to find an abrupt and
deadly end.  Yes, yes, I know, some can cheat death and all of that, but no
felar has ever obtained that status, and what must you give up? Me, I like
the taste of fish to much to give up eating food all together.  No magic for
me, thats for sure.

Anyway, the rain was coming down in sheets that gloomy day when a dark figure
strode into our storefront.  He was garbed in a black hooded cape and had a
large axe on his belt.  Just as I turned to greet the customer my father
looked up and shouted a curse.  He told me to run but the man caught me in
his large ebony hand.  He threw me against the wall and everything went dark.
Im not sure how long I was out, but when I woke the wall opposite of me was
on fire and my father was locked in a deadly struggle with the man.  His hood
was thrown back and I could see he was a duerga
