Description

This perfect picture of an elegant male human stands purposefully erect surveying his surroundings through his sharply enhanced eyes. They appear to take on a solid color of blue, although fiery energy can be seen crackling and blazing beneath. His ears are quite small, and his skin complexion very fair, and smooth, suggesting he is of a higher magical descent. His fingers are long and slender, they are certainly fingers of a musician or a mage.

Close to the dawn

Having quite a long way past, Linden still have not lost the love to life. Just started to sit
more and more in the splendid throne room in the palace, thinking about his future and
remembering his past travels. His hair starts to become gray-colored, his face
covered with a wrinkles, but his voice and body are strong still.

His efforts to support young soldiers of Empire lead to little results. Most of them dissapointed
Linden due to their incompetence and lack of brains. Still he hopes that there will be a few
worthy additions to the high-ranked Blades and Mages.

Another thing he is trying to accomplish lies in the field of darkness, betrayal and cheating.
There is a group of travellers, who like to explore the world. They do not belong to any cabals,
they do not fight, but they hold the artifacts of great power. It is his task to sneak to them
and kill them. Its more difficult since these people do not want to fight and avoid any battle.

But the first one, Egrelam the bard, has fallen already. With his friend Zwerg Linded
joined the party of the travellers to Hell. After they arrived there, Linded and Zwerg turned against
and killed the bard, but left the fourth one, Zakke, to live. The awesome trophies were got,
but there was also some strange feeling in the heart, some bitter taste in the mouth. A shame?
Does not matter, Linden wont let himself to be distracted with such from his ascendance to
the power.

Many years have passed from the last time Linden had a pause to resort his wishes and thoughts.
Life of Imperial citizen was like a travel in the mountains: climbing and falling, climbing and falling.
Not a once he thought that it was a bad idea or felt lonely or perhaps he should become
a tragic singer to reflect his mood and state of lone heart. But gladly he managed to keep
himself lightminded and loving the life as it is. He likes to "play" some kind of role, presenting
himself and the Empire as all around peaceful and kind ones. Add some sarcasm and irony,
a bit of boasting and willingness to be rather a mortar to strengthen the Empire, than a corner
brick and you will get pretty accurate portait of Linden.

He views himself as a supportive lighthearted bard, rather than a lone hunter. Also, his years
are taking the price, and he spends more and more time just sitting and dreaming in the warm
sect room. But surely it is not the end, and he has a lot of falls and peaks in the future.

Rocks and brambles on the way

It was a truly dark day when joyful and tipsy Linden bursted to the guildmaster with the
request to teach him that wonderful vibrato techniques. "What? You wish to do something
with a voice, only capable to scare just little puppies with its roar or create hiccup among
your drunk friends with its singing? No. Go and work on it, lad".

"Blast be the voice training, I can sing and play this damn song well enough just now,
so teach me!" - this were the exact words he was going to spell, but instead he just said
"Eh...". No words could shake the guildmaster, even the money offering!

Coming down upon the street he looked with a growing envy on the guilds of other professions.
Lucky shifters, damned be they, just drink and learn up! Who knew that bards' profession
require not less practicing than invokers'? Maybe its not too late to run into some other guild
and call for the refuge? Sigh.

But the long days and weeks of voice training gave him the possibility to think about yet
one more important turn in his life. Where can he go actually? Or no, where can go the one
who likes good company, good drinks, good battles and good money? Guardsmen's Spire
is empty like bottle of wine after thirsting Linden drinks from it. Villagers tend to run all
alone. The Empire? But the Empire TAKES money, not gives them, which is inherently wrong
idea. But to be a loner is even worse...

The past

From his birth Linden was a favourite of fortune. A junior son in a wealthy mages family in Voralian city, his life was predictable, easy
pleasant. And boring. At least so Linden thought. Good education in respectable school, then joining to some mage guild, either conjurers' or invokers',
Then long weeks and months and years of studying nuances of magic, rituals and of course court etiquette. And the same easy and predictable life
of a city mage.

Bleh! First 'bells ringed' when he smashed wooden board from the fence at the head of his classmate, who complained about him to teachers.
And then it all began. Linden spent more time in the streets or taverns, wasting his parents money (when he had them) on wine, women and joyful
parties than studying lessons or in school. The days when he actually came to the school were as rare as holidays in ascetic monk's life but for
the teachers those days were truly dark. He was an expert in wines, women, ways to waste money and ways to get all of those. Seeking a good wine?
Look at the Azure vineyard. Pleasures and party? Come in Crow's Nest or Goodmaiden.
Being 15th years old he fled from the house with some company of sailors and arrived to Hamsah, were he became the sailor himself. At this time
he has found that he has a good voice and hearing and actually people like when he sings sailor's songs. Between the sails he had no reasons
to change his way of life. But one day he got a message from a fellow one citizen of Voralian. He was told that his father clearly left by will all his
belongings to his older son. And he repeatedly said about Linden that Thera did not know more useless and ungifted creature as his junior.

Maybe these words hurt him more than he could even admit to himself, or maybe his natural ambitions woke up or maybe he just tired from
boring sails and cheap wine but anyway Linden decided to change it all again and joined the bard guild.
