Description
Tall and somewhat slim, this Knight stands proudly and confidently before
you. Pale blue, his eyes burn with wisdom as they look out upon the
landscape. Faint wrinkles adorn the corner of his eyes, giving only a slight
indication of this noble Priest's age. The crisp Elven features of his face
are framed regally by his chestnut brown hair, which is peppered with a few
strands fading to a pale gray. Sharply pointed ears protrude from his mane,
leaving no doubt of this High-Elves' heritage. A firmly neutral expression is
fixed upon his lips, the clear result of many years of practiced routine.

A History, Part V
Added Sat Aug 30 07:24:07 2008 at level 51:
I am now known as the Captain of the Brigade. The entire Fortress looks to me
for guidance, for wisdom, and for leadership. I have no opportunity for
humility. I must lead them to victory. And so I will.
Thus far, I am not a failure. And I will not be.
I can not be.
So long as Lady Baerinika guides my actions, so long as I follow the path of
Purity, rather than the path of convenience, I can never fail.
I think back now, on my youth. I have come so far. I have changed so much.
Yet.. I have not changed at all. I am the same young Elf that nervously
walked into the Spearmaiden's shrine, so many hundreds of years ago. The same
Knight who charged so recklessly into battle, consequences to myself
irrelevant. The same Pure soul who struggled to maintain a path most
difficult, but a path most necessary.
And so, too, have I changed. Once a young Paladin, afraid to even raise his
eyes to Lady Baerinika, I now wear her mark for all to see. Once seeking out
others to expound upon her faith, I am now looked upon to share my own
wisdom, guidance and experience of the path towards true purity with others
of the faith. Once a young Knight, eager for acceptance to the Fortress of
Light, I now must judge others worthy of entrance.
But in thinking back, I must also look forward. It is not my experiences of
the past which will determine the course of events, but my choices in the
future. Our war is not yet over. My own impact not yet felt. My Fortress is
strong, and it is primed to win this war. To heal Thera of the taint. And to
bring purity where it has never truly been experienced.
I will not fail. I can not.
A History, Part III
Added Mon Aug 11 21:05:04 2008 at level 51:
The whole of Thera continues to offer confusion. My Fortress has just endured
a great war. But a war not of our choosing. The Village of BattleRagers had
decided, from some convoluted excuse which none of our number could decipher,
that it would be at war with us. It's Commander, specifically, was eagerly
set to wage war, distracting both their Village and my Fortress from our own
sworn goals.
The war is over, now. Or so they have claimed. But I am left worried of the
state of many within our Fortress. The frustrations of a war not of our
choosing. The vile measures used by the Village against us. The struggles so
many of us faced with our own morality. My Fortress itself was tested. Each
individual within the Fortress was tested. And I fear that some did not pass
this test.
There are some who openly argued for a declared war on this BattleRager
Village. Argued that all who dwelled in it should be hunted. There were some
who abandoned their beliefs to engage the war in a less restricted manner.
Some Paladins, even, who abandoned the Code at times. To fight, as they
claimed, on even ground. But this war is over now, if it every truly began.
And most within the Fortress choose to ignore the impact it had on each of
us. But I can not forget that which I learned. I can only hope that those of
us who remain pure of heart can lead our number back to our righteous path.
Away from the corrupted views brought on by this unnecessary war and into the
Purity that is the Light once more.
I am now a Maran within the Fortress. A title which bears with it
responsibility. I am looked upon, by the Squires, and by all others of the
Fortress and of the Light, as a symbol of Purity. As a beacon of the Light.
As an example for which to strive. I do not ache for the responsibility, but
nor do I shirk it. My Lady, the Spirit of the Jaguar, has blessed me
personally with great wisdom and insight. It is my duty to share her wisdom
with the Fortress, and with Thera. To do any less, is to fail them, and to
fail Lady Baerinika directly.
Unfortunately, I have learned that I will never be free of mistakes. Perhaps
no mortal can, but it is a goal for which I strive every moment I breathe. A
goal which all righteous souls must strive, in order to succeed. For any
single mistake, is to fail in our goal. And should we fail, then all of those
whom we have chosen to protect. All of Thera, will pay the consequences.
Unfortunately, I struggle still to instil this understanding in my allies
within the Fortress.
A History, Part III
Added Tue Jul 29 21:34:25 2008 at level 51:
I have reached the pinnacle of the Paladin's guild. There is nothing left
which my guildmaster can teach me. All else, must be learned on my own.
Yet I have already learned much in the years I have walked Thera. Things are
complicted here. Moreso than I ever imagined, upon leaving my simple home.
The way things were, The things I was used to, The things I was expecting
upon joining the Paladin's Guild, life was black and white. Actions were
wrong, or they were right. The individuals that I knew, that I ever even
heard tell of, were good or they were evil. It was simple.
No longer am I hindered by this delusion. There are those who I have
witnessed commit vile actions. I will likely never trust these Impure souls.
Yet they at times, too, will act as Pure as any High Elf. A confusing
dichotomy for any, I would expect. Moreso for myself, as I had previously
never witnessed such backwards morality.
I have never struck at one of these individuals. These souls who, while
certainly not Pure of heart, do at least have a viable opportunity to one day
bask in the Purity of the Light. But their ambivelance troubles me. And what
troubles me moreso is that they truly do not see the error of their ways.
They do not understand the beauty of the Light. The magnificent simplicity of
having a Pure heart and soul. One free of doubts and of regrets and crises of
conscience.
I must find a way to expain this concept. This ideal. This goal. And this
eventuality, to these supposedly neutral individuals. Perhaps many of them
may yet be saved, before their souls fall forever into the Shadows.
More complications arise from the Paladin's Guild. But what could be simpler?
12 simple Tenents. Guidelines. Rules, even. Yet there are many. Most, even,
who disregard this rules when they differ from some other goal.
Many claim the code to be optional. Or more, to be secondary to other
responsibilities. To this, I have only one simple response. A Paladin,
without the Code, is merely a man with a sword. But no, I am a Paladin, and
will be with every breath of my soul.
At times I feel alone in my convictions. Others are so eager to throw out
their beliefs when times become rough, or when the situation best suits them.
With this lack of courage in their beliefs, it is at times difficult to see
how we might find our way to ultimate victory. Purity.
Of course, as I now know, I am never truly on my own now. I have my family
within the Fortress. My friends and my allies. But more importantly, I have
my Goddess. The Spirit of the Jaguar. Lady Baerinika. She guides my blade
with every swing. My shield with every block. My feet with every step.
Without her, I am nothing.
I am her Priest. Her mortal proxy walking Thera's lands. But I am only one of
many. And I wonder if I falter, where these others do not.
I do not worship in silent prayer for days on end in her shrine. In fact, I
can count on my fingers alone the times I have set foot in her holy
sanctuary. I instead roam Thera with my sword drawn, to enforce her words
rather than reflect on them alone.
I have never congregated with other of her Priests to discuss her ideals, her
thoughts, and her intentions. I offer them instead to those who might one day
find the Purity she seeks. I am active, with every breathe, in enforcing

I have now completed my earliest training in Darsylon. I have left the bounds
of that great city, and begun my quest throughout Thera.
I have earned the earliest blessings of the Purest of the Immortal Lords,
Lady Baerinika. Her strength, and her wisdom will guide me on this quest, and
allow me to succeed where each of my predecessors has failed.
From the scantest of views, it might appear the outset of my quest to be a
success. However I am troubled by one glaring oversight. One which seemingly
no one will acknowledge.
There are those who call themselves "Balanced". They live a life of neither
Light nor Darkness. Purity nor taint. They are accepted by each side of the
great war, without regards to their past actions.
This I cannot accept. To raise a blade against the Light, or to spread the
taint of the Shadows is not an easily forgiveable offense. To murder a pure
soul is the gravest of offenses.
Why then, are these men and women, warriors and mages.. why are they forgiven
without further thought or conversation? I am called Judgemental. I am called
Hypocritical. I am called Untrusting. But I cannot comprehend how an
earnestly Pure soul might lend their strength to one who will use that
strength for Impure purposes. To enable another to commit atrocities, is to
commit them yourself.
I am not bloodthirsty. I will never be accused of killing indiscriminantly.
And I will not hunt those who are... balanced. They are not wihout hope. They
are able to be redeemed, to be purified. But until such redemption comes,
their Impure causes will not be furthered by my own sword and shield.
A History, Part I
Added Sun Jul 6 12:44:21 2008 at level 2:
I was born into nobility. Or to be more precise, I was born into a noble
cause. It is a cause of purpose, a cause of righteousness, and above all, a
cause of purity.
I come from a small village, near Darsylon. It's exact location is a mystery
to me now, as it will remain forever a mystery to you. But from this village
come warriors. Warriors of purpose, warriors of the Light.
Every thousand years, a male youth is chosen from the village, to serve the
most righteous of purposes. He will be taken to Darsylon, where he will
train, learn and prepare for his cause. His destiny is to fight the
encrouching darkness. Turn back the tide of shadow which envelops Thera. To
be a warrior for the Light, with every breath he breathes. And to bring
purity back to Thera, whatever the costs to himself.
And as you have undoubtably have guessed, I am the most recent of this long
line of noble warriors. I was chosen at the celebration of the centenniel of
my birth. I was removed from my village under cover of darkness, and placed
in the Square of Darsylon, never to see my village, my friends or my family
again.
I am blessed with this honor, and cherish the opportunity. The gift of
bringing Light to the Darkness. Righteousness to the unrighteous. Purity to
the impure.
Traits, quirks and thoughts of Llondolis
Added Sun Jul 6 12:42:48 2008 at level 2:
- High-Elves are the only pure race, the only pure beings. All others are
flawed, and Llondolis will not be shy of pointing out this fact.
- Llondolis despises Dark-Elves and Orcs, as all Elves do. But moreso than
them, are Humans and Half-elves. These individuals were not born into
darkness, but rather sought it out. This is the worst betrayel.
- He is extremely sure of himself, perhaps to a detriment, and will likely
never admit a fault. Particularly with his beliefs and opinions.
- He also considers himself smarter, wiser and more clever than any common
Theran. He regularly tries to talk circles around others, to prove his point
or even to dishearten them.
- He is untrusting of any neutral souls. To murder a Light-hearted
individual, or to assist in the spread of Darkness is no better than the
actions of an Orc. While perhaps more open to redemption, Llondolis will not
hesitate to strike one who's actions demonstrate impurity of purpose.
- Llondolis had never heard of the Paladin code, before being Chosen.
However, since studying at the Paladins guild, he's become it's champion. He
will use it as a guide to judge both other Paladins, and any other warriors
of the Light.
- He is by nature a loner, and while at times enlisting the aid of others of
like cause, he has never yet fully trusted anyone outside of his village.
Perhaps that will change, sometime..
