Description
A squat and burly figure stands before you. Spiked, leather straps criss-
cross his torso and match the hide worn about his midsection that hangs
raggedly down to above his knees. A black belt adorned with skulls of
various creatures encircles his waist. Fur, knee-high boots are worn
on his feet. His skin, amply visible, is obsidian black and marred with
many battle-scars. A horned helm crowns the figure and sits upon a face
intense with conviction. A wide, pug nose protrudes from his somewhat
flattened face, nostrils flared, the septum pierced with a heavy gold ring.
A black, unkempt, grizzled beard hides his mouth and hangs down to the
golden rings which pierce both nipples.
Deep-set, ruby-red eyes burn in their recessed sockets as they drink you in.

The Beginning

Lucrucien was spawned in the dark depths of the mountain of Mortorn. There he was raised by his parents in the tradition of the Duergar, cunning, deceptive and ruthless.
Lucrucien's voice came later in life than most of his peers and when it finally did, it was very weak, much like a whisper at its loudest.
Because of this, Lucrucien escaped much attention and became the proverbial fly-on-the-wall as he watched those around him in silence. As a child Lucrucien came to enjoy watching others.
He eventually developed a great curiosity for the nature of the people around him. In silence, he studied and analyzed those around him and attempted to ration out why his fellow Duergar behaved the way they did.
As the years went by, Lucrucien became bored of the primitive and mindless ways of his Duergar tribe and decided that there was more to his existence than the herd like mentality of his fellow Duergars deep in the depths of Mortorn.
Thus, a few years later, Lucrucien bid farewell to his tribe and decided to head to the surface to discover the distant lands and to try and ration out the truth behind man's behaviors and desires.
Making his home in Hamsah Mutazz, Lucrucien embarks upon his quest for the Truth.
The First Steps in his Faith

Now that Lucrucien has traveled the lands somewhat, he has observed many things and drawn numerous conclusions.
He has seen that, far and wide, the choices people make are not made independently by themselves, but rather are predetermined by those who would seek to control mankind by shackling it in their chains of morality.
Few are truly free to act out their wanton desires and these few must be embraced before the free-will of man is snuffed out of existence entirely by the blinded children of the light.
Lucrucien vows to always be true to his inner desires and free from the influences of others. He is a free duergar who has glimpsed part of the truth and wishes to delve further into its embrace.
He now seeks to approach the Lord of Truth in order to be his pupil and gain his blessing so that he may learn more of the concepts of Truth.
Until he speaks with his Lord, Lucrucien shall look to himself for strength and guidance allowing his base desires to be fulfilled and he shall revel in their heinous nature.
The Cleanse Begins

Lucrucien has found that the masses are weak and deluded by virtue of their unquestioning acceptance of the ideals of the many.
He has tasted battle in the name of his Faith and he has been most victorious in his conquests.
His inner-self guides his malevolence and his ruthless nature begins to manifest itself in greater and greater capacities.
Lucrucien takes joy and pride in cleansing the masses who are unfit for life among the enlightened. Once the wrath of the Father is felt by the blind, they are asked to look into themselves and let their wills be done.
Failing this, these deluded fools will be utterly destroyed in the Name of the Father.
Lucrucien is slowly getting a grasp on the Truth of Man. He eagerly awaits word from his Lord in hopes that he may be found worthy of being the personal and unique Priest of the Father of Devils.
Until he is able to speak with his Lord, Lucrucien shall continue to bath himself in the blood of the beguiled.
The Blessing
Added Wed Jun 2 22:09:57 2004 at level 24:
After many, many years, Lucrucien has finally had his prayers answered. The Father of Truth took him into his chambers and listened to his words of wisdom concerning matters of the Truth.
The Whisperer in the Darkness was satisfied enough to bless this faithful priest and allow him to act as a conduit of his will to the prime material plane. The blessing was not complete however,
It was given conditionally and limited providing Lucrucien embraces the Truth of Man and embodies it fully.
Lucrucien has begun to understand the beauty of a free spirit
He has been able to break free from the suffocating hold of the blanket acceptance of one's conscience. Lucrucien holds allegiance to no one save his faith alone.
He does not act according to the morals or values bestowed upon society by the blinded and profane. Rather, he listens to the call of his inner desires and lets his will be done.
To Lucrucien, there is no greater cause than to have a world where people act freely and truly according to their deep, dark desires no matter how vile or disturbing they may be.
This Truth must be set free and its growth must not be stifled by those who walk blindly through life fulfilling a cause that is not even their own.
To this end, Lucrucien crushes and cleanses the denizens of Thera in the name of his Lord, relenting only when those souls who hold true to their own inner free wills remain to inherit the earth.
His path has been a bloody one and shows no sigh of reprieve. There seems to be no end to the wayward souls trapped in the delusions of morality.
Lucrucien seeks a place of refuge where he can meditate and be among others who share his view.
Ancient texts have revealed to Lucrucien a long lost Cult which at one time held beliefs similar to his own as its foundation. Lucrucien now investigates the status of this order.
The Initiate.

Lucrucien continues on his path in pursuit of the Truth that lies within him. The dark path he has found begins to darken and deepen as its tendrils reach out to guide him into its depths.
As the days pass, Lucrucien's chilling yearnings come to him with more and more ease. He finds that he is quite at home walking the darkened road that the profane have deemed as too dangerous to brave and best left untravelled.
Lucrucien finds great irony in the fact that the dark path he has walked for so long has liberated his spirit and allowed him to find his inner-self, has allowed him to break free of the imprisoning lies of the light.
It seems the very thing the Profane shun is actually the key to the very chains that bind them to their hypocritical lies. There is no room for these prisoners amongst the enlightened.
The bars of morality that form their imprisoning cells have grown too thick for most. Escape is impossible for these deluded souls. The only course of action left for these hopeless souls is destruction.
Through death and servitude to the Father of Devils in the Inferno, perhaps they will finally see the truth of things. Lucrucien shall act as the collective will and wrath of the Cult and his Lord himself.
Lucrucien has spoken to his Lord a second time. His actions were received well by the Whisperer in the Darkness. He received the Lich's full blessing and was taken into the fold of the Cult of the Ruby Scarab.
So devout is the priest in his faith, that he feels an almost tangible bond between his spirit and the Lich.
. As such, Lucrucien now taps the very essence of his faith and tries to call forth from his spirit telling prayers bestowed directly from his Lord, prayers unique to the Whisperer,
, prayers that define Lucrucien as THE priest of all that is true in the hearts of men. Lucrucien strives to be a worthy avatar of his Lord and continues to carry out the purification of the profane.
The Sign
Added Wed Aug 25 01:46:15 2004 at level 40:
After many years, Lucrucien has finally received the sign from the Gods that he was waiting for.
Enacting his will upon Thera, the profane have fallen in numbers.
The Gods have witnessed the ferocity of his wrath and show leniency for the weak.
They now protect the weak from Lucrucien and open the more seasoned adventurers to the will of the Initiate.
This has happened several times in the past to Lucrucien. This final occurence was the sign he was waiting for before pursuing his final ascension.
Now, Lucrucien seeks to ascend to the pinnacle of his guild while further embracing the truth which courses through him.
Steeling himself, Lucrucien now embarks upon this difficult journey.
