Description
Maehayla is a fit young wood elven woman. She stands 5'7 and is
thicker than most wood elves, yet still svelte by any human
standards. Her piercing eyes are different colors and swirl
with vibrant emotion. Her right eye is emerald green set with
an amber starburst around the pupil, the left is cobalt blue
with a marble starburst. Lush auburn hair tangles past her
shoulders and dances on the gentlest breeze. She has a petite
nose and thin lips, covering pearly white teeth. Her impeccably
smooth skin is fair and she sports a faint natural blush on her
cheeks. Maehayla's dainty hands and feet seem quite nimble.

On the day of freedom, during the month of the spring, Maehayla was brought
into the world. The whole tribe rejoiced as she cried her first breath. Her
mother was a wood elven druid and priestess of the Fair Paw tribe, she had
never left the forest they called home. Her father was a charismatic half
elven bard, he was once a Nexun, but had grown tired of war and found a small
village in the middle of nowhere to live, as to not disturb the balance of
Thera. Perhaps that balance had winked at her birth, for as Maehayla grew
older, she had some of her mother's affinity with nature and some of her
father's bar brawling skills. At this age, Maehayla often watched the children
of the village as the hunters went out in search of food. The tribe soon
realized she had a talent for it, the kids loved her. It wasn't a big surprise
for as soon as she was old enough to hold a child, she had to be over at every
newborn's house to meet and hold the baby. She still had an infatuation with
babies and young children, but in truth, she was in no hurry to grow up herself.
There was something about the youth of the tribe that connected her to her own
childhood, and that vibrant spirit still resided in her. She delighted in their
expressions and enthusiasm as she told them stories and sung them songs,
prompting her to tell them bigger and bigger, exaggerating them to get the
biggest reaction from her crowd.
One day, as the hunters were returning, members of the Imperial Shadow sect
stepped out from the shadows of the woods. One blew a loud horn which brought
the Blades. The tribe didn't stand a chance, there was a reason her father
believed he could exist outside the balance here, they were not trained for
war in the slightest. Maehayla's view of her father changed that day, as he
stepped inbetween the fleeing survivors and the approaching horde. For such a
gentle man to begin such an attack against well trained soldiers mystified her,
but such thoughts were short lived as he shouted at her to run. She froze in
the middle of her flight, for a second she thought she had heard him scream in
pain. The sound of heavy boots trampling through the forest pushed her forward
again. The survivors all met in the holy grove, as they had planned. The Fair
Paw tribe had resided somewhat close to the Imperial lands, they knew this
could happen someday, but all wished it never would. For six months Maehayla
waited in the grove, but her parents never showed. Once she had snuck back to
the village, but only decayed horror greeted her. The huts were all burnt and
there was a large pile of skeletons piled high in the center, also having been
torched. She stayed at the holy grove a few years, helping the surviving
families and their children settle into their new life. As they became
comfortable with this new way, Maehayla decided to venture out into the world
as her father once had. She settled in a plain, north of Galadon, for the time
being.
