Description
A figure with an unmentionable stench looms before you,
dark red specks of light glint from hollow recess' that
once held eyes, dark black robes adorn his skeletal body,
the Imperial Codex emblazoned on his chest , set behind
the Codex a Hornets Nest, then you realize the Codex is
formed of small hornets, the Hive seems to be giving life
to the Codex.
His hands almost completely hidden inside the arms of his
robes, except the thin skeletal fingertips extending out.
Severl strips of decaying flesh still hang from the boney
hand. As you avert your gaze from this atrocity the smell
still gives you a sign of it's presence. A bare white skull
sits atop the Lich bearing the Crown of the Emperor of Thera.

I have risen far in the Hive achieving my place as Dread Lord
for the time being, as well as gained the mark and blessing
of the Great Hornet to seek out the Lich Priest in Barovia
to grow ever closer to the perfection I expect in others.
Many times have I sought out the Lich Priest I believe
my presence weighs on him but he still holds silent. I'm sure
he has seen many come before him but few if any were Dark
Hand of the Great Hornet as well as Dread Lord of the Empire.
The Great Hornets will be done and his word is law and he has
spoken naming me the first Dread Lich since ancient times.
I weave an even greater web as many I have in my service
fulfilling the will of the Great Hornet through me as it should be
Those of the masses knowing their purpose and doing as expected
for the betterment of the Hive.

Deciding that since Baelind Telthin wrote of the Imperial Codex
begining the Empire which has risen to Greatness. Makholvek would
take his name as he will one day Lead the Empire to Darker times.
And such will it be from Begining to End as he will one day Become
and Rule for an Eternity under the will of the Hornet Lord.
The Meeting
Added Mon Feb 21 06:34:55 2005 at level 31:
Finally meeting his Lord in the flesh so to speak was told
to seek out the High Priest and let it be known that he
was one of the One True Faith. The Lord that all will bow to
in the days to come. As those who fall to his black magic rise
again to serve his Lord, the Black Sect, and the Empire. Making the
worthless and meaningless hold purpose within the Hive through
their Death.
Winter Solstace (VI)
Added Sat Feb 12 08:47:34 2005 at level 1:
The Ritual began at dusk with Makholvek tied to an alter that sat
in the center of a ring of ground unicorn horns, and held in a near
vegetative state with Jakinol uttering silent incantations above his son.
His hands flowing fluidly with the glyphs and runes necessary moving
swiftly with the grave of a Master. Working throughout the night
as he each symbol he drew turned black in the seemingly white sand dawn
began to approach. It was time to finish the Ritual, leaning over Makholvek
he whispers silently to his son as he places over the Vessels he pulls
his sons soul out of his body and forces it into himself displacing his own
soul...Jakinol shudders slightly as his vision goes black.
Opening his eyes slowly unsure of how long he had been unconscious
and his memories seeming vague, he sees his former body laying in a
crumpled form on the floor. Instantly he begins trying to form
the spell needed to turn the body into a corpse but something seems
wrong, his body untrained and magically weak from never having practiced
the arts was incapable of doing the things he was capable of before.
Grabbing a dagger nearby he plunges it into the unconscious shell that once
housed him completing the Ritual making the transfer permanent. Taking
the name he had gave his son one that will be remembered in legend one day
he grabs the potion that he had prepared and left nearby took one last look
around and quaffs it taking him away, away to fulfill his Lords will.
Makholvek (V)

The day finally came when she went into labor, she screamed and agony
as Jakinol reveled in her seemingly silent screams, and with a flick
of his wrist she floundered a moment and stopped breathing. Thinking
how he did take care of her the rest of her life he grinned evily. Flowing
from one spell into the next he holds his hand over her heart and begins
silently uttering an incantation as he pulls his hand away from her chest
as is mouth moves through the motions of the chant she spasms a moment
rises up her eyes opening glazed over with the look of Undeath.
Silently commanding the zombie to push the child from her he holds
his son in his hands, the unlife, Makholvek born from Death to be born
into Death.
The zombie took care of the child from the early years as was dictated
by the Ritual the child had to gain sustanance from the Dead before he
could begin anything else. Though his health seemed to continually fade
he found a rare item of power that gave him a few more years to complete
what he started. After the year with the zombie he began to slice paper
thin slivers of flesh from himself and began feeding them to his
son Makholvek as the new vessel for his soul and knowledge had to have
enough of his original essence within for his soul to latch onto it, so
he did so every day for twenty years. The Ritual dictated to do so for
twenty five, but he did not have that long so he decided to complete
the Ritual on Winter Solstace the day of the year when the darkness
and negative plane holds the most sway. The Ritual that may one day
lead to Jakinol's Unlife.
The Ritual (IV)
Added Sat Feb 12 08:20:32 2005 at level 1:
Realizing his youth is not what it once was but refusing the relinquish
the House he had built up he began studying and researching ways he
could extend his life. So he began delving into the necromantic studies
and soon discovered a Ritual which could extend his life. Though he
was not certain if he used a drow as his vessel it would mature fast
enough for the Ritual to be completed. His solution to the problem
was a human vessel they aged quickly enough for the Host to be of age before
Jakinol died.
Finding himself a human slave who had fled from the Surface, trying to
escape an Emperor for she was his concubine. Taking her in and showering
her with gifts and promises that he would take care of her for the rest
of her life, after speaking through pen and paper conveying his want
of a child the nieve girl soon became pregnant adoring the one who
saved her. During the pregnancy they wrote back and forth often as for
the Ritual to work properly the Vessel must have love and complete
trust for the one performing it.
Though during the pregnancy all she ever spoke about was an
Empire that made nations quake that had tortured and slaughtered her
family for not bending to the will of Order when they had their chance.
who are not relevant. Though he told her how sorry he was and
carressed her face telling her how their new family would be starting
soon, and not to worry all was taken care of. Though inside he knew
that she had planted a seed in him that one day this Empire would
be his, under the will of his Lord.
Khasotholas (III)

So he killed one of the lower wizards in his house and
spirited off the books and secrets he had guarded with his life.
He was not even suspected of the murder due to his station which
which he was in but that suited him fine for the moment. One of
the most astounding to Jakinol was a book titled "The Hornet and the Hive"
that preached of Lord Khasotholas. Reading it over and over, as he
looked at Chaos around him and how his people stood near stagnant in
life because they argued over power. Deciding it was a waste of time
to continue on with such a menial existance. He began seeking out
the Servants and telling them to support him and the Way in the
events that would ensue. The first dozen or so all declined his offer
to try to seek perfection within his house and each met the same fate
of a Ritualistic Sacrifice to the Order Lord. Soon after the others began
agreeing and banded with him as he went up the ranks until all in his
house were either a part of the Hive or served their only purpose in
life a Sacrifice. His meak body did not stop him from soon dominating
in his house, even the Matron, by his will alone. Ruling his house with an
Iron Fist for nearly 800 years it soon became close to rivaling the 1st
House in power through the Order and Discipline Jakinol kept among those
he ruled.
Magic (II)
Added Sat Feb 12 07:54:30 2005 at level 1:
Later that evening Jakinol began looking at the books and
recognized many of the depictions that were drawn to show
exactly how to hold ones hand or where on the body to focus
energies to cause the most pain because they had all been
performed on him countless times in his lifetime. Every moment
he spent with the Slavemaster burned into his memory, the
evenings of torture Deklan put him through holding him on the cusp
of death for hours at a time. His silent screams seeming to fill the
void in his misserable life.
In the twilight hours in secret he practices the gestures and
mouthed the words he did not understand for near 20 years. As
he became more skilled and familiar with the works within the book
he began to gain an understanding. The meaning behind the words held
the key to unlocking the magic. Over the next century he unlocked
all of the Slavemasters books and sought to learn more of the magic
he had discovered, darker magics.
The Beginning (I)
Added Sat Feb 12 07:46:56 2005 at level 1:
Born what some call "Deaf and Dumb" Jakinol was born into
an esteemed position in a noble house within the walls of
the Drow City but when found he could not hear nor speak he
was forced into servitude to the Slavemaster of his house. A
pet for him to experiment and demonstrate the arts of pain on.
So was spared the death his race for those born with defects
but made a slave to his house. Treated worse than most and
in near constant pain from the malice of the Slavemaster he
became bitter and enraged at the pitty and disdain those of
his house gave him because of his supposed ignorance.
One eve the Slavemaster Deklen was assassinated by his
brother out of jealousy, and Jakinol was forced to clean up
the remains and dispose of the body of his former Master, but
when rumaging through the pockets he discovered the Primer and
Spellbook of the dead magi. Looking around to see if anyone
had noticed the find he hid them from sight to look at and
study later in the hole they called his room.
