Role
Shameful past lead to big plans in future.
Added Fri Jun 17 15:01:13 2022 at level 21:
Malagdin was never strong or fast dark-elven child, that's why other
children were often making fun of him and even humiliating him
sometimes. His parents also weren't important dark-elves and couldn't
even protect their son. But unlike them Malagdin began improving
himself early when he realized that discipline and hard studies with
magic is his only chance in life to protect himself and even earn
good position in society. He never gave himself any chance to relax
or chill, Malagdin was improving his body and mind all the time when
other children were having fun with each other.
Malagdin was already studying an entrails and souls of the elves he
has murdered when his peers were only studying how to detect magic or
invisibility. And soon after Malagdin enjoyed revenge for his bad
childhood when he murdered all those who humilated him before. But
he had to leave his home fast before all their parents murdered him,
at that time he was still to weak to fight them all.
On the surface he has joined the guild of anti-paladins because
souls of dead enemies serving him is the best version of undoubtful
slavery he wants. Unlike alive slaves these souls have no own will,
they will just assist his plans like a best possible disciplined
slaves. That's why he soon took bloodoath from Thokran in hope to
become the Emperor of Thera one day himself too. Malagdin believes
he's the smartest, fastest, strongest person in Thera and he's the
only one who can build better future for all therans, under his
control of course. The future what looks like a nightmare for most.
Learning mistakes of the past not to repeat them himself.
Added Fri Jun 17 15:04:19 2022 at level 21:
Being the smartest person in Thera, Malagdin learned the history
of Thera first of all not to repeat a mistakes done by great
people in the past. He was really surprised that Mages of Order
in the past were so disorganizted: at first they created the army
of ragers who easily resisted their own magic, then summoned
demonic creatures whom they couldn't really control and barely
survived themselves. They had no discipline and didn't really
know what planning is. Malagdin will never repeat their mistakes
and every one of his actions is well planned and even better
executed.
Another lesson is what Malagdin has learned is that it's silly
to trust anybody, especially not mages. He views everybody around
him as lesser beings, especially all kinds of priests who cannot
even use magic by themselves and have to ask Gods to help them
doing it. But the irony is that the Emperor right now is a
priest too, a shaman who doesn't even say anything about his God.
This dark-elf bows before Thokran for now and doesn't show his
disgust anyhow because his plans to control Thera will be much
harder to accomplish if he will be made an anathema to the Empire.
Malagdin knows how to hide his own feelings because they are too
dark to let anyone in Thera know about them for now.
While studying the history of Thera Malagdin learned about
all-powerful god Twist. Though this dark-elf doesn't quite
understand how can one be honest with others when he is very
young still and has to serve someone for long time before
becoming a ruler himself. Honesty with others can only lead
to failed plans in such situation. However Malagdin is always
honest with himself when none can see him, he understands that
he was just a little and hard beaten child who wants to become
the tyrant one day to humilate everybody around in a much
worse way than he was humilated himself when he was a child still.
Powerful magic and help of strongest God is what he needs for this.
First years in Empire and joys of being an anti-paladin.
Added Tue Jun 21 06:15:14 2022 at level 36:
After speaking and dealing with Emperor of Thera this dark-elf
wasn't impressed at all because Thokran always tries to be very
helpful and looks more like a servant, not a ruler. Malagdin
himself will be very different when he becomes the Emperor:
minimal amount of imperials of mostly lower tittles so they
don't try to challenge his new position and always feel themselves
unworthy and umimportant. He believes he alone can make the whole
Empire much stronger than it ever was to please Dark Gods enough.
Malagdin heard a lot about dark art of anti-paladins, but felt
his unholy spear glow with unholy light first few times only few
days ago. It's very odd feeling: he becomes stronger, but at the
same time the cost of his own death becomes much higher - and this
fact makes him more careful, what makes him less dangerous for
all other therans as a result. After brief thoughts he decided
that being too careful isn't a way for his personal glory, what
can be brought to him only by fear of everybody around him.
The more he uses different sources of magic, the more he enjoys
it. The amount of all possible scrolls, potions and wands carried
by Malagdin becomes a bit crazy for a usual traveler: much more
than half of the maximum possible weight he can potentially carry.
This young dark-elf never prayed to Lord Twist yet because he
believes that it will take few hundreds years of his life to prove
his strength and knowledge in magical arts to be worth bothering
most powerful God.
His Dread Lord can be often seen figthing unusually hard battles
and Malagdin is pretty sure that Varkal will soon take his final
rest. Whenever it happens, this dark-elf will gain four more
tittles fast because there are no other known pretendents for
the position of most feared mage in Thera.
First doubts.
Added Wed Jun 22 04:56:54 2022 at level 36:
When Malagdin was taking bloodoath he knew thar current Dread Lord
often dies and was hoping that Varkal will take his life forever
soon. But not long time ago this stupid human began speaking with
Malagdin about experimenting to find ways to use current situation
with souls of dead people to strengthen black sect and the whole
Empire. So this dark-elf realized that it might take many and
many years before he gets his chance to become the Dread Lord
himself. Malagdin now has serious doubts about his glorious
future in the Empire and began thinking about other possible
organizations where his potential would shine the most.
The Emperor also ordered Malagdin to clean the floor in the Throne
Room after someone dropped there all their belongings. This stupid
and weak priest who cannot even use the magic by himself without
asking his God's help forced future famous and very dangerous
magician to clean the floor ... Malagdin's anger at Empire grows.
Important decision.
Added Fri Jun 24 03:17:02 2022 at level 40:
Malagdin was walking on east road when the Emperor suddenly told
to the whole Empire "Where is my council?". There were no other
imperials awake and this dark-elf thought that Thokran doesn't
really like current council and Dread Lord among them. So Malagdin
simply told the Emperor that he will gain fourtieth tittle in his
guild whenever Thokran orders it. Malagdin thought that the Emperor
would understand that Malagdin will get four more tittles with hope
to take Dread Lord's seat himself. Then Thokran helped Malagdin to
to gain these four tittles fast, but later told that he is simply
going to speak with Varkal and ask him to be awake more often. And
that's all, nothing else. Malagdin felt himself very stupid at that
moment, he would never gain these four tittles if he didn't think
he will soon become Dread Lord. He also worries that Varkal will
understand Malagdin's intentions after the Emperor speaks with him
and he sees that Malagdin got to fourtieth tittle fast. Malagdin
thinks that Varkal might simply anathema him not to lose his sect
leader position.
Malagdin also met first agressive to him thief Lorua who used the
help of Outlanders to try to kill this dark-elf. But Malagdin
simply used this tactic against the thief fighting Lorua near
Outlander's tree where Lorua couldn't hide. Malagdin took all
belongings of this thief to break Lorua's will. This dark-elf
doesn't like all thieves at all because he doesn't want to have all
his magical devices stolen and will break will of all thieves.
Wasted life, humilated greatness and plans of betrayls.
Added Thu Jun 30 02:28:36 2022 at level 40:
Malagdin is already 155 years old, but he is still considered only
as Elite Imperial Warlock. He always knew one day he'll become most
powerful and feared mage of Thera. But the Emperor believes that
even Varkal deserves to be Dread Lord more than Malagdin. This
human simply stays in Malagdin's path to glory and Thokran doesn't
want to change current situation. There is only one way now - to
leave Empire by killing his Dread Lord silently, when Varkal doesn't
even except a sneaking attack against him in Imperial Palace.
Another strong mage in Thera right now is Odaza, and Malagdin will
need to change this fact in any possible way. That's why this dark-
elf wants to join the Chasm and one day betray Odaza by killing this
mummy the same way he is going to murder Varkal. But Odaza is already
speaking about Malagdin with some random people like Captain of the
Brigade, Odaza knows that one day Malagdin will slay her and is
already scared by him. There are some chances that Odaza might
become Chancellor of the Chasm and simply kicks Malagdin out in
attempt to save it's poor life. But Malagdin doesn't believe much
that a mummy who is only strong in group with Regurgotta and is
totally powerless alone will be considered as a Chancellor of
Eternal Night. She simply doesn't deserve it at all, too weak.
After many successfull murders Malagdin believes more and more in
his own strength, magic and smartness. He will not try to draw
attention of God Twist or any other God. He is strong enough by
himself to become strongest and most feared mage of Thera.
Laws don't mean anything for Malagdin at all now, laws were
created to control people to build strong society. But Malagdin
isn't interested in building anything anymore. He only wishes more
power and fear of all therans, he enjoys breaking their will and
hope for any possible good future. Eternal Night and total terror!
Disgrace of dark-elven race Jahzenirr.
Added Thu Jun 30 06:29:08 2022 at level 40:
Young dark-elven assassin Jahzenirr asked Malagdin if he has a
pouch of nourishment for sale. Malagdin answered that he can sell
one for 25 gold even though he never had one. After taking
Jahzenirr's gold Malagdin just said: "If i ever decide to gamble
and win it i'll find you. Maybe." and left.
Few hours later Jahzenirr also asked if Malagdin also wants to
sell his ring from Aran'Gird. Malagdin answeres that he could
sell it for 200 more gold. Jahzenirr told that he already has 25
gold coins and will soon collect 175 more.
"What a stupid dark-elf, disgrace of our race" Malagdin thought.
Adrenaline, fear and betrayal lead Malagdin to being manic.
Added Fri Jul 8 07:32:02 2022 at level 40:
As planned Malagdin killed Dread Lord right in Throne Room in the
Imperial Palace. He soon took his longspear with just ten souls
within and also almost all of Varkal's belongings. Malagdin began
feeling fear for his life and most beloved thing in Thera - his
precious unholy weapon. Malagdin later killed this human again and
many other people - all was done in very short period of time. This
dark-elf lately was full of adrenaline because he was fighting
almost all the time with only short rests. Lately he can barely
sleep because of this adrenaline and became total manic. He cannot
even think clearly and did a lot of mistakes in a lot of his battles,
but always was lucky so far even though he should have died few
times already. After betraying Varkal and Empire he also became much
more evil and dirty person. To betray or take someone's all armors
and weapons became normal for Malagdin, he got used to being really
evil and breaking will of some dangerous enemies he has.
He also pledged to Scions of Eternal Night and forgot about his first
plans and intentions he had when he was a child still. This atmosphere
of anger and hatred filled Malagdin's thoughts and body. But this
all doesn't help him anyhow. At lone nights he feels himself guilty
for a lot of dirty and evil actions he has done to other therans.
It looks like Malagdin isn't really evil himself by nature. He even
returned young Jahzenirr gold he brought to Malagdin in attempt to
"buy" his ring. All these deaths and blood around him, constant
feeling of adrenaline and fear made Malagdin manic and make him do
unusually evil for him things. But Malagdin doesn't like it at all!
Malagdin becomes good.
Added Fri Jul 8 07:35:30 2022 at level 40:
Malagdin is tired of all this hatred, betrayls and evilness in Thera
and himself. He rejects his own pledge to Scions of Eternal Night. All
these evil things such as breaking will of others are no longer for
new and good version of Malagdin. He considers himself now as a very
good person who's only goal is to become stronger himself only to
make Thera better place for all other therans. He is the only one in
Thera who's will, body and magic is strong enough to accomplish this.
From now on Malagdin will just try to murder other therans being
very calm himself, he doesn't do it because he likes to kill or break
will of anyone. He's just doing it to become stronger himself by
stealing souls of other therans. He is very curious where will
power of magic lead him, what bigger goals in life Malagdin can
achieve with his strong unholy weapon.
Tamazin was very mysterious when speaking with Malagdin about his
plans for future. So Malagdin didn't even get any clues what might
happen soon, but agreed to help the lich when the times comes. Though
if he sees that Tamazin wants to make something evil or bad for Thera,
then of course Malagdin won't help him anyhow and will just try to
stop this lich from destroying Thera.
Malagdin from now on doesn't take anything he doesn't want to use by
himself from the corpses of any therans he kills. The only exception is
Odaza because this mummy is too strong to fight it on it's terms, and
the goals of this scion are too dark and evil not to stop them at any
cost. Though Tamazin might become second exception to this new rule of
Malagdin if he sees that this lich wants to destroy beautiful Thera,
what Lord Twist was building for so long time.
Malagdin prays to God of Magic nowdays often and believes that new
and good version of him can do many good things for Thera with help and
guidance of most powerful God. However Malagdin doesn't have any exact
plans how to do it for now. He is just becoming stronger these days and
looking for all possible opportunities to build better world of Thera.
Being a criminal sometimes.
Added Fri Jul 8 07:36:34 2022 at level 40:
Malagdin doesn't respect Laws of Blood Tribunal much, but he doesn't
have a goal to always be a criminal either. First time he became a
criminal when he killed Varkal in Galadon when Tamazin was near. Second
time was he struck unknown thief in Hamsah and later he found that
Chrawqi is a Magistrate of Voralian city.
However Malagdin cannot afford to be a criminal often for now because
firenewt charms, potions of healing and useful dusts won't be sold for
criminals and he needs all these magical devices. And also all these
guards everywhere attack Malagdin and yell about it, making it nearly
impossible to come fast and unnoticed after all his many preys.
Lone homeless dark-elf in evil Thera.
Added Fri Jul 8 14:29:06 2022 at level 40:
Malagdin's intentions to become good person are being tested very hard
right now because thieves like Chrawqi and Cerlis are suiciding their
lives in attempt to steal this dark-elf's belongings: wands, potions
and other magical devices. It's not easy for Malagdin to stay calm and
nice in such situations even though he's trying to do it. However he
isn't hiding somewhere far away, he's fighting his enemies wherever they
hide - even Magistrates in Galadon.
He's thinking right now that maybe it's not worth it to always remove his
criminals flags anymore, he considers to continue his hunt without some
very useful magical devices that aren't for sale for criminals. Any of
his deaths hurt his feelings even when he does it on purpose somewhere far
away from common lands. Though he didn't decide anything about it yet.
It's very odd feeling not to have a place what could be considered like
a bastion where he could rest at least sometimes, like imperial palace
once was. He now feels himself homeless, like an outlander without their
tree. But it all only makes him stronger and more creative!
One with shadows.
Added Sat Jul 9 13:58:55 2022 at level 40:
Lately Malagdin is often surrounded by shadows: few thieves, one assassin
and an outlanders who are hidden from his sight most of the time. He also
expects to be often surrounded by rangers later after he reaches the
pinnacle in his guild. This is very odd feeling to know that someone is
watching you from shadows most of the time. Odd, but not too dangerous.
Malagdin learned to use different seas, rivers, not common paths and few
important portals, but he found Underdark to be most useful place to
travel across Thera. Often he thinks that a subterranean sorcerer could
murder some very dangerous enemies in Underdark if he manages to make them
follow him into Underdark. He even considers becoming one after some time.
Malagdin got used to being surrounded by shadows most of the time, he is
no longer feeling fear in their presence. He's now calm and well prepared
for most possible situations he can get into. Instead he made these
shadows to be scared of him, avoiding him at all cost because he can set
all kinds of traps even for unseen enemies using different magical devices.
Malagdin learns Thera well.
Added Sun Jul 10 04:32:02 2022 at level 40:
This mature dark-elf always knew that it's very important to learn big
world his God Twist built together with other Immortals. Even little bits
of knowledge can sometimes be useful because knowledge is big part of
power of Magic.
After endless travels and researchs Malagdin is now can be considered as
master explorer of Thera and twice as obvservant as many other therans
only dream to become ever. His commerce skills are also very close to
those best merchants what can be rarely met anywhere in Thera.
It all and his growing in power unholy weapon should help Malagdin to
reach some bigger goal than just personal power. Though he still doesn't
know what future awaits him.
About Magic, God Twist and Masters.
Added Thu Jul 14 04:47:17 2022 at level 40:
As Malagdin became older and wiser he began to understand it more and more
that his own strength isn't enough to keep the Veil thin and Magic strong.
He still finds it a bit weak to spend his precious time gathering powerful
magical artifacts to give it to the couriers in the Rift, but he is no
longer hunting other mages unless they are a members of Scions of Eternal
Night, Outlanders of Thar-Eris or attack Malagdin first by themselves.
His prays to Lord Twist are unanswered still, but he didn't even hope to
actually speak with the God too fast after his past full of deception and
betrayals. Though he's totally changed now and being honest with himself
and others became very important for Malagdin because power gained itself
is as important as methods used for gaining it.
Tamazin sent his missive to everybody about Masters, so the mystery was
revealed. But after reading about them Malagdin decided that there no
even point to try becoming one. From his point of view they are too
peaceful, and wasting their lives and power only for studies, without
murdering and torturing most therans isn't worth his energy and time.
Though of course if there are any possible allies in Thera - it will
be them, Masters, first of all.
To destroy Thera and himself. Anger and hatred over magic.
Added Sat Jul 23 04:59:12 2022 at level 41:
Lately Malagdin doesn't enjoy his own life and the world he lives in
at all. He spent his whole life murdering almost everybody he met to
steal their souls with goal to become stronger. But his ideas of how
to use all the gained power later in life were always changing. Last
few weeks there was almost none to murder for Malagdin and he feels
himself in deep depression as if he's wasting his life. And he clearly
understands that he was only really happy those few days of his life
when he betrayed his Dread Lord (by killing him in the Palace) and was
a pledge to Scions of Eternal Night with big, cruel plans for future.
Malagdin was never a creator of any kind, and magic itself was never
important for him, he values magic only because it can potentially
give Malagdin never seen before power and fear of other therans. He
never really wanted to be a master or servant of the god of magic.
Malagdin only wants to feel himself alive again, he wants to feel
adrenalin during endless battles, he wants to feed on fears of others
who are scared of him. He wants to fight strongest people in Thera -
other mages, with Tamazin being strongest of them. He wants to burn,
to break will of others, and to destroy everything and everybody.
... Or finally die himself trying...
Malagdin never wanted a peaceful and long life with many allies and
almost no risks for himself. He's going to reach the pinnacle in his
guild of anti-paladins right now and see how much destruction and
pain he can cause. He hopes to finally become a Scion of Eternal
Night and one day destroy Thera in it's current shape... even if it
means he'll die together with the world he was born in.
Pain, fear and death instead of peace, boredom and endless trainings!
