Description
The scent of lavish oils and spice fills the air as a handsome
looking drow catches your attention. A wave of both arrogance
and nobility bounds forth from him as he gazes towards you with
large white eyes that look like a flawless pair of moonstones.
Luscious, gray-colored hair, cascades down below his neck and
comes to rest atop his shoulders like cold ash. His lithe build
is accented by a wardrobe that is equally flattering toward his
physique and overly garish enough as to deliberately garner any
and all attention towards himself. His skin is much like ebony
and has an sleek shine to it as if he keeps it well moisturized.
Two long-fingered hands emerge outwards from beneath the white
satin ruffles of his cuffs and gently caresses a small skull
in a compulsive manner that looks to be the size of an infants.
As his gaze shifts from you to his surroundings, it's almost as
if he is burdened by what he sees as irrelevant and beneath him.
Lastly, a jagged green scar curves along his right cheek, as it
seeps a pustules abscess and is surrounded by infected dead skin.

A sinful beginning

Where does it really all begin?
Sometimes it literally begins from the very beginning actually.
But what is "it"?
"It" is sin.
We all have our vices.
Some more then others.
Some not even realizing their indulgences.
Others hide it out of shame.
But the "real sinner" was born into it.
Such a gifted state of being it is.
I remember it just like it was yesterday.
The complete darkness.
The pulsating sounds.
I could not open my eyes as I struggled in the dark.
It was like drowning in a sea of pitch black.
I could hear my heart beat.
Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump.
Then. I heard the steady thumping of another.
It was louder. It was pronounced.
Why was this phantom in the dark chastising me?
Taunting and belittling me.
I could feel this other presence near me.
It struggled just as I in the darkness.
However it was stronger, louder, and full of life.
I felt... Little. Insignificant.
But just as I was about to give into the darkness.
I felt it. Something around my waist.
It felt slippery and pulsated with life.
It was like a chain bounding me to this prison.
But I was not alone.
The taunting. The ridicule.
I grabbed this chain and reached out into the dark.
Over and over I blindly tried to ensnare the phantom.
Then finally.
I felt this ligature of chain cinch tight.
I pulled and tugged as I felt struggling on its end.
Then. With a gurgling and a SNAP.
The taunting. Grew silent. Lifeless.
Suddenly the silence was broken with screams.
A light pierced by eyes as I struggled in the sea of dark.
All that was left were cries and tears.
Life and death.
Twins. A boy and girl.
One alive. One dead.
Born in sin. Let it begin.

Background:
The Qhilless Elovru name and their family seal in Teth Azeleth was known
in the drow city as a family of both reverence and intrigue. The matron
mother's rule over the house was one of absolution and there was no surprize
what the outcome would be in regards to the birth of Maolmoth and the still
born twin that would have been his sister. Maolmoth was shunned by his
own house and ridiculed for his sister would be the heir to the matron one
day. Maolmoth was seen as a pox upon the house and his worth lowlier then
a half-breed.
It came to pass that the family purposely conspired a story to save face
for the still birth of the Matron's daughter as it would make the mother
look weak and unfit to lead the family. They spun a tale that in travels
in the underdark with both newborns, that that their caravan was seiged
upon by an umber hulk whose lair they had travel to close to. The newborn
was devoured by the umber hulk and the caravan barely escaped with their
lives. Maolmoth was fed this lie as he grew up and began to have nightmares
of this bestial creature emerging from the darkness to devour him and his
twin sister. The dream would always end the same way. Maolmoth looking
through the eyes of the beast as it ripped his sister in twain.
The angst his family had for Maolmoth would prove too much and eventually
they planned his demise. He however was crafty drow in art of subterfuge
at a young age and was able to garner information on his immenent demise.
Sweet talking the help of the house with his charm, he was able to secure
the details he needed and planned his escape. He gathered what belongings
he could, and made his escape to the overside, however before leaving he
would visit the tomb of his twin first. He broke into the grave and grabbed
her tiny skull from the crypt and placed it in a bag as he rushed off into
the darkness.
That what the first time he heard the voice of his sister.
And it would be her that guided him on his way to the surface.
Maolmoth enrolled in the Academy of Thera under the mages' crest. He would
prove to have a great aptitude in the study of the mystical arts and was
accepted into the shapeshifting guild. He believed the magics he would bend
and have submit to his will would prove a valuable asset for the future. He
soon became increasingly narcissistic in regards to his studies as he began
putting himself on a pedestal above the other students. Then the professors
and then even the academy itself. One pedestal would lead to another and
the ceiling and sky was without limit of where he saw himself.

Maolmoth eventually graduated from the academy and found himself looking for
a seat of power and authority that he craved. A seat where all eyes would be
upon him. It was then he heard the voice of his sister again beckoning him
to a church hidden among the graveyard of Galadon. There atop a gravestone
was shiny badge sitting atop a book. Reaching out for both the badge and the
book, he had a vision of a great Spire reaching into the sky. Atop its very
pinnacle he reached out to the masses with open arms as he gazed into the
heavens while hanging upon every chant of adoration in his name from the
people gathered below.
Character Details:

Maolmoth plain and simple is a narcissist and enthralled in his own grandeur.
He craves the adoration of the people around him and for them to envy all
that he is. His arrogance has no boundaries and he will twist the truth so
he himself is controlling the narrative so that his reputation and stature
remains untarnished. He is rude and calculating and has a way about him that
he will belittle people and set them in their place "beneath him" in a sly
and charming manner.
Maolmoth despises half-drows because he felt the sheer ridicule upon him
from his house and felt like one of them. He sees them as nothing but a
flaw and beneath him like a lowly dog.
He also despises any race, profession, or creature that is lowly and vulgar
looking in his eyes. He has a great aversion for goblins in particular as
they are nothing but a deformity and a flawed creature. This outlook has
caused a conflict between himself, the goblins, and the Goblin Lord Skreenak.
Maolmoth would not backdown from the Goblin Lord and the disgust for him
and his brood. This resulted in the Goblin Skreenak slicing the cheek of
Maolmoth and leaving a disgusting scar from the cursed metal of his blade.
This has left Maolmoth marred in his eyes and he will stop at nothing to
send the skulls of every goblin he comes across to the hovel of Skreenak
and to find a way to reverse this imperfection and to find revenge upon
the Goblin Lord.
Maolmoth, in times of great stress, will hear the voice of his sister
speaking to him from her skull that he carried around. She will taunt
him and belittle him to get him to do her bidding. She was murdered by
Maolmoth in the womb but the connection she has as his twin still lives
on in an otherwordly way. He knows her only as Maelmeth and he is always
trying to ensure he is in power and not her.
Maolmoth is driven to ruin and destroy the house of his mother and every
last one of his family. In the end, the family name is his and his alone
to have. And only he is worthy to hold that name and a position of power
in the overside.
Religion:
Maolmoth has given into the vice of vanity with how he lives his life. He
has yet to meet the blind God Morius, however he believe that only lowly
dogs seek out scraps from the table. In his eyes the Master of the House
should seek him out, for he is a treasure and a wealth the Master should
covet and want.
The Spire:
Maolmoth is using the Spire as a pedestal to position himself into a
seat of power. He sees the citizens of the various protected cities as
helpless sheep and it is his burden to bear to watch over them, for it
is a glorious burden indeed. Maolmoth was stop at nothing at becoming
the Provost. He will lie and smear the names of other Magistrates if
need be to step over them in power. He noes not trust Kira and his own
aversion to drow woman and his disdain for them can be shown in his
belittling of her and the Provincials underneath her.
