Description
A curious little creature hunches slightly near you.
Alabaster-white skin almost reflects the light of
sky, it's leathery textures seeming to crack as if
not being stable in nature. He does not stand very
from far the ground, but has an impressive aura about
him. His head is bare of any hair, not even the
evidence of a root. Blue eyes peer sternly out of
his skull with a glare of serious demeanor. His arms
look to be quite sturdy and unlike the similar looking
Gnomes, he is taller and has better shape. You barely
catch a glimpse of a shiny object reflecting on his
right palm. It seems to be embedded deep, and as he
motions and turns over the hand, you notice it
portrudes through and out the other end. You may
have just been fortunate to catch a glimpse of this
being as the odor that lingers with him indicates
he may have spent much time in the wilderness within
trees, but the smell of dampness can barely be noticed
as he continues his previous actions.
..
As you look closer upon his face, you notice a few
wrinkles here and there and that the object in his
left hand seems to glow a faint green.
Role
The History of the Coldstone
Added Wed Nov 15 22:02:00 2006 at level 1:
For nearly 7000 years the Coldstone Svirfneblin cultivated
their magical sanctuary hidden deep within the Northern
Mountains of Thera. There they lived in peace, creating
beauty and seeking spiritual and intellectual
advancement. But 5 years ago an undead scourge invaded
the sanctuary and drove these peaceful svirfneblin to the
brink of extinction. Led by the dark necromancer, Gnarjin,
the undead destroyed the mystical Glacial Ember thereby
severing the Coldstone from the source of their natural
powers.
..
Though the scars of that conflict are evident, the remaining
Coldstone had banded together and retook much of their
Sanctuary. Now calling themselves L'ka, these gruff
survivors are committed to regaining the powers they
had lost.
..
Though their war was won, reparing their mystical artifact
was beyond the powers of even the eldest of these people.
And so they sought answers for years, but to no avail.
Inspired by the promise of the young, but bold, Marlehrn
they now await the day that he returns to his home
Thar-Eris and the Emberstone
Added Mon Nov 20 00:34:13 2006 at level 25:
Long ago, before the existance of Malehrn, it was said
that the Glacial Emberstone was once the seed of a
great tree. The seed itself was like any other, but
it was said to have been blessed by an Ancient being
and given to a small group of little-people. They
nurtured the seed and watched it grow into what it
was before the War. When they could no longer
rekindle it's powers, Malehrn vowed to venture
out into the world and explore. He sought to find
the reason, and within the Refuge, he did.
..
He believes that the being that gave this seed it's
power was an Ancient of Thar-eris. And so he
sought them out to learn of their ways. When he
gained knowledge of their ways, he knew then that
it was where his answers lied. And now, as one
of them, he will see their dream come into reality.
Pain, Suffering, and the Goal

With his time as one of the Refuge, Marlehrn has matured
and become stronger, both spiritually and physically.
Alongside these motley folk Marlehrn has changed into
a much different deep gnome than his kin. It was not long
before these changes affected him in other ways.
..
Recently his spirit has been growing in power as his ties
to the Emberstone have grown stronger. He feels it's power
growing with every day that passes, and every day Thar-eris
comes closer. He now suffers from an odd pain in his left
hand that he feels is due to the stone's strengthening.
As Marlehrn strives for Thar-eris he feels more complete
than he did in his cavernous home. He feels his promise
to his people will be fulfilled, and that gives him the
strength to go on.
The Outlanders' Branches

Not long ago Marlehrn was about with Dizrug and Chaisse.
The subject of killing elves who bring harm to our
mother. Chaisse felt that words would be better suited
to stop them from their wrong ways, while Dizrug felt
that the only solution was to eat them. Marlehrn had
an epiphany as they squabbled over the matter. This, he
thought, was where the branches from our tree arched.
The darker branch seeks to manifest Thar-eris through
destruction, while the lighter branch sought a less
offensive way. Marlehrn felt both were correct, but
then he thought of his own branch. The grey branch, he
feels, is one that manifests both. One of the grey branch
must be wise and know who can still be saved from their
ways and those who cannot and must be hunted until extinction.
As time passes Marhlern will continue to make the judgements
he feel are best for the dream that will come.
The Emberstone
Added Wed Nov 29 23:27:55 2006 at level 47:
Recently Marlehrn performed a mystical ritual that allowed
his spirit to reach the emberstone. The passage was rougher
than usual, his spirit colliding with many damned souls as
it neared the stone. Once there, however, he saw it's
magnificent sight. His spirit neared and touched it:
"My son..", the stone whispered to him. "You have kept
your word. Do you wish to return home? I can make it
possible." Marlehrn smiled slightly and he said "No,
great emberstone. I have found a good home within the
refuge. I find that their...no, our struggle is a noble
one and I wish to see it through." The Emberstone shined
brightly with immense power and Marlehrn felt a warm
glow as his spirit returned to his body. The small
svirfneblin creatured smiled at the stones he placed
on the ground and nodded in satisfaction. And with
a flash of light, the pain he felt in his hands was gone.
