Description
A bloodshot eye glares at you from a face covered by a thick,
greasy beard. The other eye is covered by a black eyepatch.
His shaved head is scarred, and his teeth are brown and
cracked. His hunchbacked posture gives you the impression
that he is only about four feet tall. His arms and legs are
thick and musculous, but his belly is round. He wears
mismatching pieces of armor, some that he has apparently
forged himself to make them fit.

Tall, muscular and battle-scarred, Thrym stood in front of his class; an
assortment of filthy young lads that shared a faiblesse for fighting. "You
there in the back of the classroom with the eyepatch, what will you be when
you grow up?", the barbarian asked.
"ARRR! FUCK YA, YA RETARDED EELSUCKIN CHUMBUCKET! CANT YA SEE IM
ALREADY A FUCKIN PIRATE, MATEY?", a tiny eyepatch-clad figure yelled at the
top of his lungs. Thrym sighed internally as he handed out the punishment
10 laps around the Keep of the Righteous, followed by a flogging as McGrok
returned. During the past half year, the young duergar had made himself known
as the problem child of the academy obstinate, violent and obsessed with
the thought of becoming a pirate.
McGrok obsession with piracy stems from his wayward, seaworthy foster father
whom he hated, and who shipped him off to the Balator orphanage at an early
age. His father, who was a mage of the waters, is vaguely remembered by
McGrok who would like nothing more than to own a pirate ship of his own, hunt
down his foster father and slaughter him as well as his whole crew.
Thrym saw the potential in McGrok, and decided to take him in and turn him
into a villager making something good come out of his bloodthirst. The
young duergar, however, was so bloodthirsty that he kept crippling his fellow
students hence he was not allowed to use weapons and was instead
forcefully made to attend medic training. If he ever beat another student to
the point where he couldnt patch him up again, McGrok would be hung.
Will Thrym manage to teach the duergar to rein his bloodthirsty and chaotic
nature and turn him into the perfect villager? Probably not, but that remains
to be seen.
Why's and Whynot's

Why does Mcgrok speak so loudly?
He's proud of his strong lungs, since he survived being hauled under the keel
a couple of times. Besides, you need to shout to be heard above the
thundering and the storms at sea.
Why don't Mcgrok bother to destroy magical items?
He thinks it is a janitor's job. Things don't mean much to Mcgrok, and while
he enjoys plundering he does not care much about the booty once he has
claimed it. Killing mages is infinitley more important to him than destroying
magic items. This extends to other cabals' items of power; they do not matter
as much to him as they perhaps should.
Why does Mcgrok use pirate slang?
Even though it comes semi-naturally to him, it is mostly because he thinkgs
it's cool to be a pirate.
Why did Mcgrok choose to train with flails, and not fists like Thrym ordained
him to? And why did he not follow Thrym's advice of becoming a defender?
Because at the time when he made those choices, he was still in a rebellious
state and refused to do Thrym's bidding.
Why does Mcgrok speak somewhat friendly to his enemies after a battle?
Because Mcgrok is generally happy after a battle - it is after all what he
likes to do the most. If he lost the battle, he is more grumpy however. He is
also generally friendly to reduce the enemies' desire for vengeance, thus
keeping him in the position of predator.
Why did Mcgrok violate the rules of parity?
The way he sees parity, is that he would never venture with another to hunt a
lone opponent. In fact, he would never enlist the aid of another unless it
was really, really needed. However, if he stumbles upon an enemy that is
already fighting\; then he'll go for it unless that enemy is fighting another
rager whom he respects, in which case he might trust that rager to finish
the job properly.
