Description

A tall figure standing just over six feet tall, he is cloaked in a heavy brown woolen cloak that seems quite old. As you look at his face short sandy blonde hair falls about his face, several strands look to float in front of his crystal blue eyes. As you look into these eyes, they seem to show a hidden wisdom and happiness that seems almost ageless. Gentle wrinkles form at his temples from a near permanent smile upon his face. His nose seems to be slightly skewed to one side seemingly broken from a past battle. His skin holds a light tan from much time spent outdoors, and a weathered look that betrays his youth.

Role

The Teachings.

Added Sat Feb 3 16:46:06 2007 at level 1:
Life without their parents was not easy for Mersiliat and his older brother
Burdvarn. They were taken into the church and raised within. The monks taught
them of humility, of goodness, and of the Light, however through their
teachings Mersiliat and his brother began to grow apart. Where Mersiliat took
these teachings into his very spirit he sought to protect and spread the
Light throughout the land such as these monks do. Where as Burdvarn began to
grow a resentment for these monks, he grew uncomfortable and one day Burdvarn
simply was gone. There was no goodbye, no nothing.

Mersiliat had known he had made a mistake perhaps he could have used his
knowledge from the monks to let me light into his brothers spirit. Now his
brother was lost to him. From that day Mersiliat had promised himself that he
would always fight for the Light, for goodness and for the protection of the
innocent throughout Thera. Even though he has no parents, perhaps in his duty
he could save another from having his fate.

Courage

Added Sat Feb 3 16:46:36 2007 at level 1:
Mersiliat holds courage his highest tenant. To uphold and fight for his
righteous cause, there exists an endless battle that is waged against the
defenseless and the innocent. It is Mersiliat whom has chosen to take on this
duty to protect them. To uphold the Light where darkness swells so that it
may burn bright once more. Mersiliat has readied his blade and himself to
spill the blood against those that attempt to hinder the Light, or prey upon
the innocent, Mersiliat knows there is no compromise to his beliefs. He will
defend his beliefs till his final breath, and uphold the Light until his
hands can no longer hold a blade.

The Dark Night

Added Sat Feb 3 16:44:09 2007 at level 1:
Within the shadows the cloaked figure snakes along, his movements fluid and
silent. A small glimmer of light emits from his hand, a dagger. A guard
wanders along his patrol, his sword resting in his scabbard, shield hung
loosely upon his back. The cloaked figure launches at him from behind dagger
thrust between his shoulder blades, the guard sinking to the ground with a
quiet moan. Removing his dagger from the lifeless corpse the figure returns
to his shadows and continues.
As the figure approaches a large oak door his pace slows he fearfully
approaches the door, he stood still at the door, waiting, listening to
whatever might reside behind it. Nodding to itself, the figure silently
turned the handle, opening the door slowly in hope that it would not make a
sound.
What lay before the assassin in the room calmed him, three beds lay before
him one empty within the other two a child lay in one asleep. In the other
two a man and his wife lay asleep in each others arms. The assassin silently
crept to the first bed.
Looking down at the couple asleep he did not even pause, silently withdrawing
his dagger he quickly cut the necks of both husband and wife without waking
the other. As he approached the next bed, he looked down at the child. He
would not even be five, he faltered. Taking a breath he withdraw his dagger
once more, holding the dagger high he readied it for one final strike but
then, he paused once more. The assassin fell to his knees, the dagger fell to
the floor with a clang looking back to the doorway for one final glance at
his killer he saw a young man, perhaps fifteen years old holding a crossbow.
A final breath and the assassin fell into the blackness that once was his
closest ally.
