Description
A tall, light skinned, dark haired, Blue eyed man stands before you. He is
dressed in colorful gaudy clothes and an instrument hangs at his hip marking
him as a bard. As far as humans go there is nothing incredibly remarkable or
distinguishing about his soft features and average body. You notice several
stains down the front of his shirt that smell of liquor and his boots and
leggings show the signs of long travels. Upon taking a closer look you
deduce that

Role update numero UNO

Mike has reached the mid point in his advancepoint toward becoming a hero
bard so I feel its time for a little bit of an update.
Things are more or less as they were when he first began his quest and he
still holds true to his path of hoping to one day become a skjald of battle
and bear the mark of Ordase.
before though he has developed an acute dislike for heralds based on
before though he has developed an acute dislike for heralds based on
the actions of a specific elven bard and half-elf ranger. This animosity
began when The pair threatened the life of young mike while he was attempting
to force a mage out of hiding at the bar of the eternal star. At the time
the two were out of his pk range by a few levels and made quiet explicit
threats to kill him once the gods no longer protected him. Mike, being the
warrior baladeer that he is, returned to the inn after he had leveled up into
range of the pair and challenged the elven bard to a duel. Suddenly the mood
of the elf changed and instead of accpting the duel or simply refusing it he
began making excuses about not having a particular sword that he lost when he
earlier left the safety of the bar to taunt mike as he was fighting an orc(an;role + assassin killed him). As a result Mike has marked the bard and ranger as
cowards and has lost all respect for them, by association he has developed a
dislike of all heralds who now in his opinion only "like to sing about life;role + but fear to live it"
Honor has become increasingly more important to Mike as he grows older.
After a long series of fights in which others came in to kill his foes while
he was fighting Mike has become a lot more stringent about his personal
honor. He now strives to not accept any aid while in a battle and has even
gone so far as to refuse field dressings offered to him from the commander of
battle. He realizes that trying to be a skjald bard is a tough path to walk
and he wants to do it the best that he can and only by tempering his body to
not rely on the assistance of others does he believe he can accomplish that.
A more in depth view of Mike's past
Added Tue Dec 13 09:46:32 2005 at level 31:
I decided to take a moment to go into Mike's past with a little bit more
depth. The first thing of course is that Mike was born and raised in galadon
to a family of bards. Mike's father, Michael, was a Skjald of little
renowned who fell in love a baker's daughter. He never expected to have
children but it happened early in his career and even more unexpectantly his
wife died in childbirth. Michael was then faced with a choice, he could give
up his child to the orphanage and continue his quest or retire from active
service in the village to raise the child himself. Fortunatly for Mike his
father choose to raise him.
Mikes given name was the same as his father but growing up his father always
called him little Mike.Later in life when he enlisted in the academy he
gave them the name Mike because he had so grown to the endearing nickname his
father had given him. Mike, being the son of a skjald, was raised on stories
about the village. He learned the same hate for magic and love of
storytelling and battle that his father had. When he became old enough to
join a guild he decided to follow in his father's footsteps and become a
bard.
YARE yet another role entry
Added Thu Dec 15 20:20:42 2005 at level 34:
This is yet another role entry and this particular one is to discuss some
things you might not have noticed at a glance. First thing I would like to
point out is that the notes so far that Mike has written to all have each
been written on the hide of a mage he has killed. The second note includes a
little bit of misinformation as well to give it more of the feel of a story
that is being retold from an indirect source. The story was chosen because
it fits a theme in the reasons as to why mike hates magic. The theme is
simply throughout history mortals have shown they cannot properly control the
magic they use and result is destruction. Thirdly the painting he made for
the village was not picked at random. With news of gathering mages he wishes
to call attention to the ancestors of the village who fought the original
masters of magic hoping that his brothers can find strength from remembering
their fight.
I don't know the first role entry
Added Fri Dec 9 19:42:07 2005 at level 3:
My disclaimer at the begining of this entry is that I understand the name
Mike might annoy some people and others might not care.I picked the name
becuase I wanted a human name for a human character and to be honest a part
deep inside of me likes annoying those people who think a characters name is
the defining part of their role play.
On to the specifics, Mike is a human bard born and raised in a bardic family
in galadon. He has heard thousands of tales of a vast variety of things
which account for his incredible bank of knowledge for such a young sprat.
He left his home in hopes of finding more stories and being a part of them
himself and in the tradition of his ancestors he enlisted in the bardic
guild. The stories that excited him the most as a child were epic stories of
bravery and mighty warriors defeating powerful mages. In light of this he
has chosen epic as his repertoire and also seeks to become a villager. The
stories have poisoned his mind against the many dangers of using magic and
his hatred for them is vast. Sorry I know this sounds like a two year old
writing this role but really I don't do these very often and I want something
thats not quite a bulleted list.
So general things, Ordasen follower, village applicant, preffered epic
repertoire.
