Description
The dignified elven woman before you is tall and willowy, her
limbs long and delicate, yet you sense a strength beyond what
presents itself in the flesh. Her skin is pale and as smooth as
cream. Her bold golden eyes are fringed with long, dark lashes
and you see wisdom and beauty reflected in their depths. You
notice a tiny scar below her right eye. Rather than detracting
from her beauty, the small mark adds appeal to her features.
Her hair matches the color of her eyes perfectly, the thick mane
cascading around her strong shoulders and tumbling down her
back. Her gently sloped ears jut out from her locks, the tips
just visible in the mass of big bouncy curls. An elegantly placed
tattoo winds its way around her slender forearm and wrist, the
tail of a golden dragon snaking its way up her index finger. On
the back of her other hand, you see a shimmering tattoo of the
fiery ki-rin.

Brief background

Minya was raised in the Vale of Arendyl, surrounded by the wonders
of nature, the love of her people and the ever changing season. She
has a deep appreciation for all things beautiful and unlike most, can
find beauty in even the most dire of situations or the most horrifying
of beasts.
She has strong ties to the elves of Darsylon and continues to make
her home in the Vale, though she travels throughout Thera in an effort
to better herself for her people. She keeps meticulous records of the
people she meets, the creatures she faces, and the areas she explores
with the intention of increasing the elven nation's knowledge of the
outside world.

Minya had a dream, in which she was told to find every member of the
Theran Pantheon and paint their portraits for all the world to see. She
began with the Lurker in the Depths, given her fascination for dragon-
kind. She was scared to tears, but survived the experience and went
on to paint his image. He was pleased and gave her permission to share
it with the people. Inspired by his words, Minya continued to travel
Thera, searching for shrines and temples so that she could continue her
work.
Unfortunately for Minya, she found Thrakburzug, the God of the Orcs.
He came to her call in the swamps of Ysigrath and waited while she put
his image to canvas. Before she could finish, He tortured her and took
what he thought was her beauty. Though he destroyed the flesh of her
face and throat, He did not manage to take the true beauty of Minya,
which can still be found in her heart. - This DID have a profound effect
on her. She hates the way that she looks, but is doing everything in her
power to see through the ugly scars to the beauty inside. She is scared
to death to visit the Dark Gods of the Pantheon, knowing in her heart
that one will eventually destroy her.
In the meantime, she joined the Heralds of the Eternal Star, making it
clear to the High Herald that she wished to use the position as a platform
from which she could more easily exhibit her works. She wants all of her
paintings to hang in the Lyceum. She specified in her interview that she
was more reserved than the usual cadre of Heralds and she would probably
not fit in, but wished to be inducted anyway.
She has noticed a dramatic change over the last century, that being the
fact that she is now focusing on each task before her with a more defined
clarity. She is becoming much more structured and orderly and has little
patience for the chaotic nature that once defined her.
Free from Chaos

note to Velkurah Lorhan Odrirg
Divine Inspiration,
I write this missive at the request of one Odrirg Gorimm, Disciple of the Ki-Rin,
Provincial Magistrate. I sought his advice in a matter most important to me, Minya
Eliai'iriai. As a child, I was carefree, as are many of my people, never looking beyond
moment at hand. When I set out from the Vale, my perspective changed. I found
myself focused, direct, and driven to complete my tasks in an orderly manner. Despite
my actions, I am still considered chaotic to those who have the insight. I dare say that
I've not faltered on my path of order in well over a century. Please help me shed what-
ever pebble still disturbs my pond and guide me to your side.
Odrirg my Goal is the same as it has always been, though I can't claim it is anything
like your own. I hesitated to mention it after you told me your noble cause, because
I felt that mine was somehow insignificant, or .. not as important. Let me tell you now,
all of you, that my goal is to share the beauty of Thera with every sentient being, to
open their eyes to the world around them. It is my goal to capture inspiration on canvas
and to create images that will continue to give, long after my life is gone. I am driven
to write tome upon tome, detailing the creatures, places, people and events of my time
so that the children of our future will know where they came from, their history.
In closing, I thank you for taking the time to consider my request.

(Painting to Velkurah/Lorhan) A progression from chaos to order

note to Velkurah Lorhan Odrirg Jaegrudai Taborlaan
The image on this canvas is intriguing and at first glance, you detect a sincere
effort to tell a story or portray an actual or symbolic event. You are privy to
a moment of reflection. A golden haired elf stands before a perplexing series
of five paintings that are hung at careful intervals on an otherwise bare, white
wall. She stands with her back to you, but her face turned as she puzzles out
the progression in her work. The painting on the far left is rife with a chaotic
display of brilliant colors and careless brush strokes. You cannot make out the
actual image on that particular canvas, and though the bright splashes of paint
are appealing to the abstract eye, you feel disoriented and uneasy as you drink
it in. Close examination of the next three paintings reveals a steady, consistent
and very noticeable improvement, as if the artist learned from her mistakes on
each canvas and took dramatic steps to correct them on the next. At last, you
see that her eyes are focused on the final of the five, the canvas at the far right.
A satisfied smile plays on her lips as she studies the image, which is aesthetically
pleasing, a work defined by clean, crisp lines, subtle colors and precise attention
to detail. Mounted on the bottom center of this canvas is a tiny bronze plaque
that reads "In Order, I find Beauty... Minya"
Scars healing, Velkurah tattoo, Herald uninduction fiasco

Velkurah found Minya while she was traveling in the swamps and asked her to
come to him. When she arrived, he handed her the self portrait she had done at
Shokai's request. He had made some small changes to the reflection on the
canvas and when Minya looked at her face in the mirror, her scars were healed.
After a long conversation, Velkurah blessed her with his mark and named her
Disciple of the Ki-Rin.
Minya decided to continue her pursuits as a Herald, her main goal in life still to
share beauty with the people of Thera. Several weeks past since her conversation
with Velkurah when the leader of Herald, Sastine Gossar, pushed Minya too far.
Minya could live with the childish antics and foolish outburts, but when the High
Herald became verbally disrespectful and insulting, Minya had enough. She told
Sastine that she refused to be led by a ten year old child and asked to be uninducted.
Sastine threw a fit and stomped off, refusing to speak like an adult and insulting
Minya where all of the Heralds could hear. Minya asked again to be removed from
the cabal and Sastine replied to the entire cabal " Find an Immortal. Preferrably
your own. I am too busy to deal with you." So... Minya did. Arvam came to her in
the Lyceum and summoned Sastine to them, where they were finally able to tackle
the issue. Minya aired her grievences again to both of them. Sastine denied most
of Minya's accusastions, but in the end, she apologized profusely and begged for
forgiveness. Minya was cold, but agreed to remain on as a Herald, so long as the
leadership improved. Now... she is doing her best to move past the incident and
forgive Sastine her idiocies.
Immortal Paintings on hold

After several failed attempts to paint again, Minya has decided to put this particular
goal on hold, perhaps indefinately. She has finally realized that her continued prayers
are likely a nuisance to the remainder of the Pantheon and doesn't wish to become a
bother.
