Description

Standing at 5 feet 3 inches, the figure before you is at first unremarkable. With long silver hair, large purple eyes and charcoral skin, her drow ancestry is clear, but a closer look reveals a lack of the characteristic pointed ears of the elven race. Cool and impassive, she seems to take in her surroundings with equanimity despite the small tiny bits of frozen water that seem to cling to the sleeves of her vestments. Though she lacks the ageless appearence of the elven race, she nonetheless seem to carry herself with the some amount of grace. The lines around her eyes and mount seems to indicate that she is old before her time.

She never knew her mother. Just that she was a daughter of a 
merchant family, raped by raiding drow. Given to the temples
of Voralian, to be raised by clerics, she would have entered
the priesthood. But from a young age, she knew that her heart did
not care for the complex rituals and rules of the Heavenly Lords. 
Instead, she was facinated by the ebb and flow of mana which seemed 
so clear to her. 
When an Arial invoker came to pray for healing at the temple and
offered to take her on as an apprentice, she jumped at the chance.
Though he didn't keep his word and her "apprenticeship" was closer
to servanthood, she was able to learn enough of the basics from observing 
his castings to enrole into the guildhall when a failed spellwork
took her master's life.

On the Tribunal:

Originaly I pledged my energies to the Tribunal for 
rather selfish reasons. The libraries of sorcery and the 
guildhalls are within towns, if those were destroyed 
where would I be? Back on the street perhaps. Fools 
like Onya may have eatten enough wild mushrooms 
to believe herself free of the influence of the cities yet 
where did she learn her magic? Cities, thats where. In 
any case at the time, and even now, it seemed like the 
Magistrates were barely keeping afloat so I pledged my
energies so that the guildhalls wouldnt burn.

Having traveled much over these past few years,
I have gained a new appreciation for the importance 
of cities and civilization. Beyond just the teaching Magic, 
cities are needed for innovation and discovery. If we are
ever to recover the power of Veran as it were or 
Thar-Acacia, cities must be encouraged to grow and 
prosper. Funds must be channeled into schools, 
libraries and research But for that to happen, those
who oppose civilization must be razed from the face 
of Thera. It is not enough to sit in town and guard it
from criminals, we must remove the threat of savagery
and ignorance where it roosts. To such end I trie to rouse 
the will of my fellower Magistrates, though usually I have
failed to rouse them from their slothful ways. Perhaps the 
raising of a new Provost will shake things up a bit One 
can only hope.

On magic

A curious effec it seems to have though. While 
it may seem a tool to most, true initiates who 
have tasted of its power knows that it is Magic
itself which commands. Though its effects are 
subtle, chronic drawing from the deep wells of 
Magic is addictive and seems to leave lasting 
effects on my body


A curious encounter with the Lord of Magic
has given me new food for thought. He called 
the Chancellor: betrayer. It has got me thinking 
that perhaps my previous assesement of the 
Chasm was wrong. Could it be that they are 
not dangerous, but respectable scholars of the 
Arcane? Ive done some research on the matter 
and it seems that those of the chasm search out
items of magic and leech them for personal 
benefits. Where does this magic go? The benefits
that the scions gain from this act, I understand
is only temporary, yet the magic is permantly 
used up. I suspect that they are sucking out 
the Magic of thera to feed the night creatures
they call on. Thats intolerable. I will need to 
keep a closer eye on them.

Politics and Musings.

In my dealings with citizens of Thera I have always
used the simple rule of: the enemy of my enemy
is my friend. As such I have traditionally treated
nexuns, imperials scions and marans as potential allies.
Though the system seemd to have worked for the
most part, certain recent events have led me to question
such a system. Notebly the lawlessness of the
imperials and scions, have shown me that I must be 
more vigilant in my determination of allies and enemies.
Especially as a Provincial, my actions now reflect even
more on the Tribunal.

It has also made me realize another thing. The
Spire without an active is a tiger without claws.
Fear is a powerful tool and I believe the rare
appearance of our  current vindicator plays
a significant part in Therans erronous belief 
that they can get away with lawbreaking.
Perhaps when more people fear the long reach
of the Law there would be less chaos around
and I could return to my studies of the elements.
Naturally, I would love to be the one to instill it.
In the mean while, I will split my focus between
hunting down criminals and savages and growing
the Spire through the cultivation of new and
existing Magistrates.

Retirement

Decades has passed and once dark hair has turned gray. Though
tempered her passion for order has not waned. Though the
failities of old age has dulled her judment and forced her to
step down from active duty, her intellect remains unclouded
and the mana coursing through her veins hums with is familiar
comfort. Perhaps without the duties of office, she can now
of the Lord Twist, there is no telling what the future may bring.
