Description

Before you stands an aging but still formidable human, his broad shoulders slightly stooped with the weight of years, yet his presence remains imposing. His once well-defined muscles have softened, but an infernal power seems lend him strength. His skin, long bronzed by the sun, is now lined with the etchings of time-deep creases around his eyes and mouth. His hair, now silvered with age, has thinned at the temples but retains a sense of careful grooming. His short beard, once golden-brown, is streaked with white, and his mustache meticulously kept even now, maintains its proud volume, its ends still curled in that signature, elaborate twist. His light green eyes, though dulled slightly by the years, have not lost their keen edge. They scan the world with the same unrelenting scrutiny, though now their sharpness carries the weight of long memories, stories, and unfulfilled desires. The fire of zeal still burns within them, but its glow gained darkened tones, tempered by some dark pact, or perhaps, by an insatiable hunger that time has failed to quench. His armor is a mixture of mismatching leather and polished metal, that you clearly can tell that was not made for him, have been polished to a point of shinning. A badge stands proud over the left side of his chest.

An ineffable force fell on upon my shoulders. A force that I cannot fight agaist,
that cannot be avoided or deceived, time. As my age advances, my time shortens, and
and no matter what I do, which pact i may have made with the Dukes of Hell, my own 
existence will fade from this realms. My body will die.

On the verge of my last act in life, near the time i will face my last curtain, i 
became more contemplative and my memories often return to my mind. I can tell for
sure, i have walked a long path to be where i stand now. And when i look ahead, to
the time i still have left, i see that much more can be achieved.

Looking back, once I felt a weight almost as heavy on my shoulders, being made
the leader of the Spire, early on my life. But back then, i was younger and
perhaps did not had the full understanding, regarding the size of the task that
was given to me.  

If it is true that time brings wisdom, and at some point i believe it is, I will
make my best to leave the Spire, in better shape and a better place than when i 
joined. It is interesting how a dormant God, can make an influence on our mortal
lives, but somehow i have been guided by His hand, even not had met or seen him
once in my life. But will talk more about it later, as i will try to leave for the
future generations, a bit of my legacy.

Early days in the Spire.

I remember when i joined the Spire. The pride of becoming a Magistrate, the shinny
badge upon my chest. I must say, i was a little more than a thug during those days.
Testosterone was high on my body, the cold touch of steel upon my hand and the mastery
of magic on the other. Running wild on the roads and forests, hunting and bringing to
my unholy weapon, the souls of pretty much every being that would go against my own
standards or that i could considered an enemy of the Spire. 

But being honest, my standars were low at that time. 

My father was a jailkeeper, a brute, ruthless. On a few occasions he took me with him,
while i was a child to show me, his "work". All i knew back them, is that criminals
desearved no respect, no mercy. As he treated imprisoned criminals, worse than animals.

It was my education. But this, i must say, was the first big change that occured to
me after joining the Spire. As part of my training for a magistrate, i was submitted
to an intense period of study on the Spire's library. For me, respect, etiquette, 
protocols, and how order surrounded and permeated all of this, simply made sense.

I was still a thug, but educated and respectful. Not once in my life after this, an
insult came out of my lips. It was a time, the Spire was suffering from leadership,
we had little guidance outside our Laws, Rules and protocols. I must say, if every
magistrate follow those, not much more guidance is needed. But things are not like
we dream they are. 

Those days, I remember with great joy. The responsability was low, my use of time out
of duty had little impact upon the Spire and had a job i really enjoyed. During this
time, i also made two very unlikely allies, the pen and the paper.
