Description

Mosem could be considered civilized among those that are of his kith and kin. Furs and patchworked clothing adorn his broad twelve foot frame with precision stitchwork. Well set eyes of a fine frost blue show not so much a great intelligence as cunning and an intuition born of one who has seen the blade in battle since a young age. Jaw squared, almost as though it were cut from granite is softened only slightly by long and freely flowing white hair.

Role

A village that once stood strong.

For a village of Cloud Giants, Mosem's people could have
been called more than a loose coalition of hunters and
gatherers. A well organized market did trade with many
of the other races of the land. Somewhat free to come
and go as they chose, trappers, woodsmen, armorers and
the like were welcome, but as his people had no true
understanding of magic many that claimed to be able to
aid through alchemy, sorcery and the like were more apt
to be shunned. The giants trusted more in their own
more in their own strengths than upon those that could
be obtained through means foreign to them.

With the awakening of the God of Magic from his long
departure and the rise of the consortium many among
his kind feared the portents that had spread among his
people for generations back beyond the last Theran age.
Divided, some gave into their curiosity and sought out
this place that claimed to grant great power in it's
bond with the magi of numerous lands, but many more
set out to those who would be called 'barbaric' by
more than one of the kabalistic gatherings who debated
the merits of bonding and alliances. Aughos, father of
Mosem, son of Ladeik, was among the Elders who tried
to quell what at first were simply petty squables
between families of the settlement. Disagreement turned
to anger and anger to hatred. It was not long before
even the Elders could not agree and the habitation
became split, buried deep in it's own animosity. No
longer did the traders come and the village set upon
hardship.

Blaming those who shunned magic, the bonded came to
unite all in the encampment. Their intentions perhaps
peaceful at first became less so very quickly named
under the guise of restoring balance. To Aughos and
many of the other Elders this was seen as an excuse
to do no more than shed blood. Behind them came the
dark, unnameable to take what was of use to them
amidst the chaos. Though the bonded turned on the
ones who claimed the titles of Keepers of the Chasm,
it was too late. Aughos and many others had given
their last breath to keeping their kind free to
decide for themselves. Mosem escaped, bleeding and
barely alive in his battle with a bonded warrior,
struck from behind by the dark chaos magi. Still a
child and ill trained to have made a difference in
saving his family, friends and colony he swore to
seek out those who called themselves the Battleragers
and train hard to restore what he had known as true
and pure in his young life.
