Description

Standing at fourteen feet, this stormish giant is large even for his kind. His skin is a dark blue, bordering on Midnight. His eyes are a piercing green, betraying the confidence he must feel. His face is somewhat square, framed by an angled jaw and prominent cheek bones. His nose is not overly large, though does lean slightly to one side, as though it has been broken in the past. Framing his mouth is a goatee style beard, kept neatly trimmed. His hair is a rare shade of green for his kind, the color of an evergreen pine. His shoulder length hair is held back from his face by a simple leather lanyard. While muscular is not an uncommon way to describe fighters, this giant could be said to embody the word. His body is simply huge, not the simple bulk of a man dedicated to improving his strength, but rather the chiseled tone that comes only from hours upon hours of repetition, in his case the swinging of a blade. His clothing is simple in nature. A sleeveless light blue tunic is covered by a older, yet sturdy looking breastplate emblazoned with a crashing wave, while upon closer inspection a tiny figure can be seen riding the wave on a watery steed. A sturdy leather sash holds up a plaid kilt, hanging to just above his knees. Strapped to his back is a bolted shield, the hilt of a battleaxe can be seen peeking over his massive shoulder, while hung from his waist is a simple, yet deadly maul. This giant is clearly a fighter, one dedicated to his craft.

Beginning, and motivations

Muarghat was born in an isolated village deep under the River Ernin,
Kemberhold outside of Galadon. Tribal legend held that the villages founder
was once a great warrior, one of the whispered Haters of Magic. This
warrior, Kemberon, was also a devout follower of the winged Phoenix, or so
said the chronicles. Eventually, though, his spiritual beliefs and his war
against magic clashed, and he departed the Haters and even active worship of
the Phoenix to found his own village, which came to be known as Kemberhold.
Based upon his beliefs, that all magic was an agent of evil, and that evil
must be stopped at any cost, he and a few of his brothers of the storm began
to make their own war against magic and the darkness they saw spreading
across Thera. They all worshiped the Phoenix, too, but after centuries their
worship became so isolated that they lost even their deitys name, knowing
him only by the bird that arose from the ashes It was to this environment
that Muarghat, son of Dhavren, was born.

For centuries, since the founding of Kemberhold, there had been no true
contact with the Haters of magic. Indeed, the Wave Knights of Kemberhold
were rarely seen on the surface world, emerging from their watery fortress
only to assault the drow, or to fight the errant enclave of magi. Indeed,
the people of Kemberhold became incredibly isolated, yet in this isolation
they found security. Muarghat was born and raised knowing deep in his hart
that evil must be wiped from Thera, that the foul tortures, oppression and
corruption caused by darkness in their hearts had to be stopped. He knew,
too, that magic was simply an agent of evil, that even the most outwardly
pious and rightous mages were, in their tainted hearts, working to spread
evil across the land.

So, like any young man of Kemberhold, he trained. In time, he became a Wave
squire, serving one of the greatest knights of the Hold, his father Dhavren
He saw battle, too. Countless fights and raids were staged during his
training, from an attack on a duergar Clan to the razing of a magis keep.
But when it became time for Muerghat to take the vows, to become a full Wave
Knight, he knew in his heart that his dedication was too strong to be content
with the periodic raids conducted by the Knights of the Hold. No, though it
saddened his family, and indeed all of Kemberhold, he left on the day he
became a knight. He left to dedicate all of his life to fighting for the
values of Kemberhold, to combat the spread of evil across Thera, and to
destroy the evil taint of magic that had corrupted so many lives.
