The Beginning Part 1/2

Naitan grew up in quite a nice town.. Calamyr, It was a considerably small town,
to the extent where everyone knew everyone. Peace overwhelmed Calamyr in
such a way where it was almost not possible. The townsfolk never worried
about any iniquitous acts and were all warm-hearted. His parents were deeply
loving, providing him with often more then was needed. His father was a Shoe Maker
by trade, but almost held a controlling interest in the mines, which
employed just about everyone witheld in the town. He was known as just a
pure good soul and everyone looked upon him almost as a saint. His
generosity toward his workers was amazing, with such selfless acts with his
money, and it carried over double for his wife...

She possesed the same morals as her counterpart, with such love for her
son. Making all the right choices a caring parent would. She stayed at
home, tending to whatever was needed to keep the house in order. They
concentrated quite hard on his studies, trying to express to him how much
these choices in life mattered, how much it mattered to be something.. how
much it mattered to be like them...

Naitan grew up under this for seventeen years, going to school trying to
please his parents. He began to lose interest in last year of his
studies, always wishing to explore and find new ways of entertainment. He
was nowhere near attractive, but his parents loved him nonetheless. The
children at school respected his father but would still tease him about his
looks, often making him leave early, fleeing on the verge of tears. So many years of this became
somewhat torturous and began to eat at him, so much that he began to skip
class frequently and would hide in the refuge of the woods...

His parents did not know for some time, until one of the professors expressed
worry. After Naitan came home one day from "school", his parents were
waiting up in his room. They instantly began speaking with irate words trying
to understand what was going on. Her father grabbed his wrist and demanded
answers and he turned away and ran, and ran. He sat crying when he heard
the soft voice of a man.. "I know the troubles that you have Naitan" he
whispered. "Who are you! Please leave me alone!" he replied. He expressed a
sincere care, and Naitan began to listen. He spoke of a whole other world
where such things would not transpire, where he would fit in no matter what.
And his ears perked with interest. "You have reached a large crossroads in
your life Naitan, I give you a choice.. A choice between this life, or your own
where you may be happy" he said, "But there must be actions done..". Naitan
was sickened with where his life was going and decided he would do whatever
it took. The man handed her a dagger and replied "Wait until the moon
reaches it's peak in the sky. You must take this dagger, go home, and slay your
parents. For they are the only thing that block your path." he stated "After this

Determined to seal the pact and make something of his life Naitan walked 
back to his home. Confronted by his parents and their concerns he played the
Role of loving son perfectly. They talked until the sun set and darkness 
blanketed the lands. A decision to continue these discussions in the morning 
was made and the family went to their bedrooms. Sitting on the edge of his 
straw mattress, Naitan pulled out the dagger the strange man had given him. It 
seemed to glimmer in the moonlight, sparkling as if reflecting the sun itself. 
As he sat waiting, staring out his window doubt began to fill his mind about 
what he intended to do. Appearing as if from nowhere, the strange man stood
Before him smiling and spoke We made a deal Naitan, the price for failure is
far greater than blood you will spill. then as suddenly as he appeared he was 
gone.

Slowly the moon climbed that night, but finally it reached its peak in the 
skies. Steeling his nerves Naitan slowly crept through his house, down the 
stairs and into his parents room. Clutching the dagger tightly with both hands 
he struck. Stabbing down as hard as could right into his fathers chest. He was
like a wild animal, primal rage filled him. The more blood that squirted the 
harder he struck. 

His end of the bargain complete, Naitan ran through the night, through woods 
covered in blood, his heart beating as it would explode. Coming to a moonlit 
clearing the strange man stood before him. His pale skin illuminated by the 
moon. Speaking in that whisper tone again he said The pact is sealed Naitan, 
your heart is ours now. You will find nothing for you anymore in the world of 
lesser men. Yet with the the things I will teach you and power I will grant, the 
world is yours for the taking to do as you."

Six years has passed since that dark day he murdered his parents. The power he spoke of was that of Magic. 
forms to cause as much suffering to those who would oppose him as possible. He choose the foci of Air for 
his secondary studies to traverse the lands quickly in his hunt for prey. 

Naitan threw away his morals the day he stuck that knife in his parents. These days he cares only for his 
studies and his own power and magical research. With each passing day his hate grows. Hate for lesser men 
who cannot see the beauty of magic, hate for those who would name his research and actions evil. It this 
hate that drives him to further his research.

Pledging his life to the Scions of the Eternal night, Naitan searches the lands for any scrap he can find
Concerning the prophecy. His specific area of study is of the ancient totems scattered throughout Thera.
The totems of the Thar-Eris that grant special powers to those who serve the Outlanders. 

Through his research Naitan has come to discover that the nature is the polar opposite of shadow and the 
two repel each other like oil and water. It is his belief that these Totems empower the Earth and are the 
reason any portal to the shadow plane remains only temporary at best.

Naitan has been a member of the Scions of the Eternal Night for some years now.
He seen the fall of the Haphellna and the rise of Beureunus to Chancellor. Naitan was never fond
of Haphellna, he believes she lost focus of the prophecy. So hateful of nature and of the Coven,
that emotion blinded her and the the chasm astray. Having Beuruenus to guide the Chasm
will see great leaps in knowledge and ever closer to the arrivial of the eternal night.

Naitan's research has come to a halt. No matter of disturbance or violence has been able
to draw any reaction from any of the six totems. He has despoiled the lands, brought darkness
to them. Given fresh blood and human flesh to the gods at their base. Yet all of his experimentation
has failed to bring about any result.

That was until he discovered an ancient ritual, the vellum on which it was scribed was nearly rotted
and moths had chewed through a few parts causing numerous issues with the translation.
The ritual detailed a process on how to infect a spiritual flow of energy. Naitan is of
The mind that performing this ritual under the totems will bring chaos and disease to the energy
these totems channel and recycle from all the soul in Thera.

Believing to have properly translated the ritual, Naitan set out to infect the spirits flow.
He barely averted disaster and his own undoing as the ritual failed, he could not believe it. He
thought he problems were finally solved. Furious with himself he went back to his chambers,
studying the vellum scroll once more. After endless days of pouring over each and every word.
Naitan realized his error. What he had originally translated as Blood of the Pure, was in fact Blood
of the Willing.

It is now Naitan's goal to complete this ritual at each of the six totems. Manipulating
any weak soul he is able he fully intends to have corpse's laid freely at the feet of the totems.
