Description

A rather charming and elegantly clothed dark-elven woman is before you in a black dress with gold trimmed filigree designs, showing wealth and position, though her fashion seems off, as if from a time long passed. She has long silky straight white hair that reaches down to the small of her back, leaving a small little curl at the tip. Her ears, pointy yet lovely, softly protrude her hair, a beautiful ornament of golden imperial design sitting atop her left ear, representing a once high position. She is not a young woman by no means, but quite mature and enticing, her beauty not beset by age at all, yet she does have a dangerous aura about her, that coincides with a tremendous magical presence. Burned into her bare chest, in her ebony dark skin, is the crest of the Anathema, though while it is familiar, it is somehow different, aged, peculiar in the sense that it looks like an older revision of it's current mark.

Nelfykh Orthigish, a former member of the Arcane sect in the Imperial army 
ranked as one of the Elites at the time of the betrayal. She was one of the
ones who assisted in plotting such rebellion and in joining the the Scions
of the night back when such a darkness was revealed to the world.

So how did she end up here, in the current age, as that was so long ago now?
It is as if the very fabric of time and space had grasped her from where 
she was, pulled her through it, and spit her out in this time as it is now.
There were many secrets to uncover in the scions, and she had discovered one
of her own, which is what happened to bring her to where she is currently. 
Of course her treachery against the Empire did leave her branded still, and 
the effects of such left her teleporting and recalling magic unstable at 
best, but that was a pain she had to suffer for the secrets she delved into.

The Arcane sect was a fascinating prospect of the Empire when it was in its
power, but the curiosity of any mage would carry them away from loyalty any 
day, one would think, especially in the dark minds of those who would take 
away other's freedom and life without hesitation. The question is, how much
would you give up to obtain more, how much would you let go, what is an 
acceptable loss? This is why Nelfykh left and joined the others who betrayed.
And because of it, the everlasting brand is still upon her, the Scions she was
once within, she has lost, and has lost the very magic she once was very 
capable with, and even then, the old teachings she knew, had progressed in
a way of shapeshifting. Of course this peeked her curiosity as she now pursued
that avenue in her life as well, as transmutation was no longer her path.
A path back into the chasm she once knew is also sought, even though she may
lose it all again.

The understanding of why

Fundamentally, Nelfykh was quite the upstanding imperial. She was very capable.
She had outstanding loyalty, she had drive beyond most. She was likely next 
in line to lead the sect, had things not turned out as they did. What was it
that turned her away? Why did she betray the Empire and turn against it in 
betraying the Empire for the Eternal night?

The story goes back to the Empire and how it was once a force of might and 
strength. How it dominated Thera with it's iron first, in her mind at least. 
The sects all had their place, and even though that was the case, while the
game of politics had some play, power was truly the core essence of the Empire.
What this meant was that those who stood on top were those who wielded the 
most strength. It was the glorious golden ages of the Empire, but that was 
slowly changing, as she could see. Things became more political, more greed
focused, more holding lies and subterfuge over other's head. The threat of 
demotion and anathema by lies and bribery were potent tools in a Empire that 
no longer recognized power as it's true successor. 

This is why Nelfykh had began her departure of betrayal, why she willingly 
bares the mark of Anathema. Why she sought out the secrets of the Prophecy 
and the powers of the Scions and it's Eternal night. By Julius who used this 
group of mages to create the chasm that host the darkest of mage craft that 
Thera had and will ever experience. She was always ambitious, even while in 
the Empire, but fate was set for a different time for her to rise in the night. 
Her time was not yet ready, as her research swallowed her up and took her 
away to where she is now.

Reminiscing the old, pondering the new, answering the question

A nightwalker approached me, a voice reaching out in my head. 
Crass, condescending, yet seeking for something in me, it longed 
for something. Being amongst those black as night halls, in the
depths of those shadows, I yearn for it still in this age, but it's 
pitiful state to what I remember is uneasy. 

I have yet to meet the dark gods that loom over the Chasm as it 
is now, fulfilling the Prophecy of the Night for the Scions, or
lack there of. I cannot compare them to Julius whom pushed us of 
the Arcane Sect, of the Tower of Masters to the Pit. Are they 
truly enticed by the darkness, or are they just playing their on little
games for their own objectives instead for the greatness that I 
know was my fate, that I betrayed the Empire for, that I searched
and devoted for years of my life, only to be whisked away to this time?

I will not know for sure, but between the two I have heard of, of
Rahsael and Morius, it is Rahsael that peaks my interest. I am not
one who has sought out deities before, as I feel if they have desire
for me, they will make it known, otherwise I will live to what I 
wish to do, to what I desire. Even if that means losing it all
again, such trivial things matter not. 

As for the voice, I was tasked with learning of a way to get to 
Hell, as the gateway once known through the gathering of the Obulus
has been closed. I had come across a Deck of Fate upon this Drolem
in Trothon. I did look into the cards and figured out in my research
that there is a particular card, if you play by the rules of the
deck, that can send you to Hell, but in what way you get there is not
documented. This of course does not bode well as likely whoever 
experienced this before, did not return, but I do believe that
in itself answers the voices question.

The musings of suffering and Hell, lost in the darkness as the light dims

A glimpse into that depraved place of suffering, even though it was likely
the most tame of the circles, Limbo how you writhe in my mind. That is what
awaits a soul like mine? The depths of the hells, halls of suffering, torment, 
and pain? Why do I feel no discomfort in thinking of such though? Is it because
I know that it is my fate, my destiny? That it is only a matter of time that
this destination is set for me? Or am I bound to escape it's loathsome grasp 
somehow? 

Regardless of what it is, I seek it out without hesitation, as I cannot wait to 
see how far the depths will let me sink, how much of a monster I may become. 
What will fate have in store for me? 

The lord of loss, lord Rahsael, his little doll, how devoid of life as it
maybe, has tasked me to seek out the loss of others, yet I have found nothing
but fear and turmoil in this recourse. How delightful in it's own sense, that
many cling to something and do not wish to give it up, as to allow it to burden
them so. I can't fathom it myself, as I have lost much, shedding much as well to
do what I have, and become what I am, and will do such to continue this path of
suffering, so that I may share it, embellish within it, and create it's misery.

I've come a long way from studying time and it's fickleness to what I am now, 
and though sometimes I seem listless in the darkness, it feels as if I'm fated 
to be the monster that dims the light amongst those around me, until we are 
all just lost in the dark with the shadows to tear us a part.

Blessed are the lost, can I grasp darker shadows?

Much has become moot to me, yet while it is still a part of me
it is all distant pieces of a past that I have let go of in the
pursuit of loss. What does it truly mean to be lost, to pursue Father's
guidance on such? I have encountered many different people who back
away from it, deny it, and push it aside, as if they can escape it. 
As if fear will prevent it, or ignoring it like it will never happen.

Linai, a priest who would rather die than be without their divine's 
presence. They are someone I've encountered that has been quite the
interesting Paladin, yet how I wish to break them and deprive them 
of such. To sever their connection. Though there are many examples
of those who would rather fear the monster within their mind and reject
what they may lose rather than embrace loss for what it is, and learn 
from it, gain from it, endure it's suffering and become a monster 
feared like myself. 

I feel like my connection with the shadow plane has been rather stagnant. 
That while I may be an powerful yet, there are things I cannot seem to
grasp and reach beyond. What is limiting me I am unsure but it is 
frustrating. How will I release the Night and fulfill the prophecy, 
then eventually take over the hells, if I cannot become more powerful?
