Nhinguehm Khai, was born in the military city of Udgaard. He is what you
can call, a surface dark-elf. If he has any descendence from a noble clan
from Teth Azeleth, it's lore was lost over time. An this is some times, a
conscern that afflicts his mind.
Even having been born and raised far away from the drow society, he naturally
maintains a haughty and noble posture. He considers himself, superior to all
other races in Thera, showing respect only to people in positions of power. He
praises his intelect and consider it, his most valuable talent. He believes it
can be used to achieve all his goals, overlapping his lack of hability in
direct combat.
The ways of Udgaard, had great influence on his behavior. Its politics of war
and expansionism, shaped the thinking of the young dark-elf. Observing the
movement of the troops, he noticed two things that led many of his decisions:
1- In situations of stress, especially before a combat, soldiers raised their
thoughts, asking for help and protection to their Gods, especially the God of
War.
2- The morale of the troops, was always elevated with the presence of a priest,
be it a shaman or a healer.
This led him to choose the path of the Divine. He understood, that while
studying the healing arts, he could quickly become a beacon to soldiers and
others in need of the mantle of the Divine. Without exposing himself much,
in the front lines of battle, he could gather an army to achieve his goals.
Like a king in the chessboard, moving his pawns to war. He believes in the
power of Civilization, and wish to bring war against the chaos and barbarie
of the uncivilized part of Thera.
Nhinguehm Khai, will seek the teachings of Lord Panmorne, and work to become
one of his choosens. He believes that while chaos, plays his part in the
battlefields, an organized army has much more chance of success. The Divine
will guide his ideas. And for the execution of it, there is a palace, north
of the Sultan City, that has plenty of resources for an ambitious priest to
work on.
First meeting with the Lord of War.

It took some visits to the sanctuary of Lord Panmorne, so that the two would
finally meet. Probably the immortal was watching and studying the young drow
before giving him a chance. Attitude, which even if it did not happen, was
later incorporated by Nhinguehm Khai.
Lord Panmorne introduced himself as an old man with a long white beard,
loose pants, and a long wool tunic. Leaning on a pine walking staff and
exuding serene conficence. Nhinguehm Khai, with a formal behavior, showing
deep respect to the one before him. Panmorne conducted them, from the
gardens to the Commander's Tent, where war plans are made. Nhinguehm Khai
was too naive in terms of war for his own good, his first arguments were
torn appart by the Lord of War. The drow quickly realized how little he
knew about war, and how hard and long would be the path before him.
But for Nhinguehm Khai, this was an amazing opportunity to learn, he took
the humble position of an apprendice before the Master, and he let the
words and toughts of Lord Panmorne, to permeate his being. He took every
word, every idea an advice as guiding lines for his actions. He also found
the staff of Panmorne, striking his head and ribs from time to time for
being so fool. But that, was an incentive to get better. Until today, he
do not know if it was for pitty, entertainment or if Lord Panmorne really
saw something on him, but he was granted a little of his Lord's power to
seek his goals.
Lord Panmorne made clear that the path was even harder for one of the
healer's guild. His first assignment, for one who wishes to become a
master tactician, was to get to really know his enemies. Nhinguehm Khai
really dig into this assignment, even walking with chaotic beings to
understand their behavior.
Ascencion in the Empire.

Still very young, Nhinguehm Khai began his journey in the Empire, he took
the oath and began to work on his goals, which at first, was reaching the
rank of Imperial Priest. Dhuzir was the High Priest at the time, and another
dark-elf healer had the rank of Priest already, Zhalaboz. Zhalaboz by
coincidence, was also a follower of Lord Panmorne, and had already had a
consolidated post in the Empire.
The young Nhinguehm Khai was right in his judgment that there was a lot of
material to work in the Empire, a good contingent of power-hungry warriors
were in a frantic race to climb posts and become elite blades. A talented
healer was always a requested company, and the young dark-elf knew to take
advantage of this opportunity. Focused on his goals, he advanced in levels,
quickly turned into a divine voice, then an Imperial Acolyte and before
long, was close to the rank where a member of the divine sect could become
an Imperial Priest.
At this point, things have become more interesting. The throne which had
been empty for some time since the death of Igos the Might was occupied by
Dhuzir. The divine set, had produced another emperor, that meant, that
the post of High Priest was open. Nhinguhem made bargains with some blades,
and raised the necessary funds to become an Imperial Priest, and his
promotion came by orders of the new Emperor himself.
Even knowing that the other healer had more time in the Empire and a more
consolidated position, Nhinguehm Khai knew that his chance to become High
Priest of the Empire was this. He seized it with all his strength, and he
designed himself to become a hero in his guild with all the help he could
buy or bargain for. And so it happened, he found himself in the same
position as Zhalaboz.
But, the drow cruelty and thirst for power is a mark on theyr society. As
many others, Nhinguehm Khai did not care about the time of service of his
competitor. Using his most valuable asset, his cunning, he approached the
Emperor even more, gained his confidence, accompanied him in every endeavor
to conquer he proposed, and thus demonstrated that he was ready for the
position. And so, he was made new High Priest of the Empire.
In the other hand, the drow pride is also known... his competitor, feeling
the impact of what happened, slowly faded into no existance. Nhinguehm
Khai had a wide open road for consolidade his power in the Sect.
Early life as High Priest and another meeting with Panmorne.
Added Fri Sep 21 14:06:13 2018 at level 51:
The early years as High Priest were brutal for Nhinguehm. The Phoenix
brigade, led by Captain Drissa, was at the height of its power and
numbers. The casualties in the empire's contingent were innumerable,
and not every warrior or citizen, had the spirit strong enough to
withstand the waves of warriors against the imperial gates.
Resolute in its purpose, Nhinguehm was one that endured attack after attack,
forming a militia with the bravest and most determined survivors to turn the
the war. After many years, this group was finally able to defeated the
captain of the fortress, permanently breaking its spirit. With his head cut
off, the regiments of the fort felt the blow, and the battle were raised to
a level of equality. But this period, left their mark on Nhinguehm, scars,
bruisings and old marks made of every kind of weapon or magic one can thing
of. But all this, were withstand with his wil and the power of Lord Panmorne
inbued on his being.
At this time, Nhinguehm sought his Lord again. At this meeting, he was more
than a hundred years old, and presented himself as a High Priest of the
Empire, not the young naive drow of the first meeting. Long before the
wrinkles, scars over his body translated without words the lifestyle he had
been having. This lead to the first compliment from Lord Panmorne to the
Healer before him. And they had a long talk.
Nhinguehm once more, felt invigorated by the time, presence and teachings
of Lord Panmorne. They aproached many topic, including going back to the
first conversation, evolution of Nhinguehm in the Empire, the battles he
have been to, the quick change of positions into the battlefields, the not
linearity of war and finally to the troops. What could motivate the troops?
That was his new task, to find out how to keep troops that were enduring
a hard war, motivated.
And once more, the drow left to put his task into movement.
