Description
The scent of this diminutive creature reaches you just before
noticing his stature. Oddly hunched on the left and slightly
more muscled on the right are small bulbous shoulders, taut
with sinewy muscle. Punctuated by a head that seems a bit
too large to belong to the body is a grimy visage covered in
dry scaly skin that is only interrupted by a crookedly sharp
nose and too wide mouth. Most of his lean fame is covered
by a few tattered skins and robes but from time to time the
glint of various metals catch the light. All in all, you notice...

Noggard Noxus arrived clawing and screaming on the fifth
day of the month of the Grand Struggle. And such a struggle
it was that his brood mother had labored for four days and
three nights prior to the emergence. As the story goes, right
out of the womb, he extended his arm towards the first shiny
thing he saw and that set the tone for the rest of his life.
As most goblins do, he grew quickly into maturity and
although malnourished and neglected, he was deft and
cunning. Among those near him in age, there were no
goblins that were his equal. Although he was almost
constantly receiving a beating here or a bit of torture there,
he had an exceedingly keen eye to what others had, that he
did not. Harkening back to the rumors about his birth, it was
clear that his spore of envy bloomed early and was growing.
Having matriculated from the dank village southeast of
Galadon, he spent many days conjuring up ways into that
bountiful place. Dogs roaming the streets and nameless
beggars that would hardly be noticed missing. Oh, how he
hungered. But, it wasn't until he saw a figure about his size
change into a large clawed beast that he knew what he
wanted more than anything. Magic!
Night after night he tried sneaking past the city guard but it
wasn't until he'd grown reputable enough to join the clan's
raiders that he finally made it within. He plundered their
academy for information, partaking of several fleshy treats
along the way. However, he soon came to realize that he
would never have that magic he sought so much.
Some races, as it turns out, are "blessed" with the knack for
learning such things, some... but not goblins. This insight
infuriated him. It was then that he hatched a plan. He would
spend a bit of time walking amongst these other races, hiring
himself out as a mercenary of sorts, growing strong and fat
off of their tender underbelly. Then, when he was strong
enough, he'd kill those mages because if he can't wield that
power, no mortal should.
The Easy Life.

In the pursuit of the death of those magic men, Nox
inadvertently discovered more reasons to both envy and
hate them. For a few years now, it has been nagging and
eating away at him, piece by piece, growing fat like an
embedded tick. Their innate sense for magic has enhanced
their lives, making them easier, more fulfilling and with less
effort. Oh, how it makes his blood boil.
He knows that they get to say a couple words and become
invisible to almost all those around while he had to work for
weeks on his techniques to remain hidden within just a few,
dark, dank places. For years they used this to hide from
him... trying to pick on him by coming out of their magical
veil to attack and then vanishing again. They must have
thought it was a game, attack, vanish, laughing at him
beyond his vision.
Although he doesn't particularly enjoy hard work, he has
become somewhat of a savant at it. Through day and night
training, he finally ambushed one of "them". He reveled in
the experience, took deeply of their flesh and felt the joy of
consumption. Felt the power enthrall his senses as they
digested and became a part of him.
Some time passes after proving his dominance and again
their simple ability plagues him. Attack, hide, attack, hide...
it was then that he remembered his time within the Academy.
Like the tender finally taking a spark, he remembered there
were others that hated these magic men, and he found them.
The Fastest Defender.

As time flows by, the days turn to weeks, and months and
years, Nox has continued to grow, finally coming into
maturity for those of his kind. With this growth of his body,
so too has he sharpened as a raider. Eventually, after what
seemed like an eternity, the day of change arrived, the day
he met the Frost Lord, Jormyr.
It began when he was given a near insurmountable task by
the, then Drillmaster, Polunt. Defeat another villager to earn
a place in his village. So, he chose the Azreth forest for his
killing grounds and took off to await them. After battling a
pesky enemy in route, he arrived to Polunt and future
Drillmaster, Iastran already awaiting.
As a no-nonsense bird, Polunt laid out the rules. No
running, must stop yourself from fleeing if hurt, and fight to
the death. After hearing this, Nox was nearly devastated but
he steadied himself for the task and they soon began.
Right away, he decided that to keep to the rules. He would
have to do all he could to forced himself to keep at the fight
as long as he could, hopefully before instinct took over.
However, he knew deep inside, as soon as his body reacted
to the pain, his chance was gone. . .
But, then he heard the voice of the Frost Lord. "If you can
win, do it! Ta hell with the rules!" And he smiled.
The battle lasted for hours, Nox striking and retreating,
eventually losing his trusty mount and limped along with
broken bones, he persevered. Finally, just as Iastran was
about to deliver the killing blow, Jormyr arrived in the flesh,
saving the goblin's life.
The Frost Lord explained about the fight and afterward
asked Nog to meet him at the village. It was then, that he
brought Nog into the fray of Battle's war banner, but placed
upon him the condition that he could not chose the path of a
Berserker, which he most sought, because the fear instilled
within his blood wouldn't allow him to show true courage.
Although heavily disappointed that the trail veered in a
direction he'd not intended, Nox was and remains thankful
for the trust the Frost Lord showed him as he now lives his
days, training to be the fastest defender to have ever graced
the village.
