Description
Before you stands a being that seems to glow from within, as if Light itself
was infused into his blood and skin. Pure golden eyes are marred by the
silver whorls that mark him as something more and unnatural than your
common being. While the glow burns dimly within him, his features are blurred
enough to where you cannot make anything out definitely besides the more
obvious features. Such as his golden burnished hair that glows on it's own
and his eyes as well as his muscular and mannish features. While the origins
of his race appear to be human in feature his movements are with a natural
grace that would rival an elf's.

The Fields

An evil conjurer stands before a summoning circle pouring mana into it trying to bring forth
an angel or archon to capture so that he can dissect it and study it at his leisure. A blinding
flash happens and a glowing being steps forth, thinking he had won the conjurer looks upon
the being with an evil sneer and says "Holy Being, I am your Master now, recognize my power
and cower before me! You shall endure pain like no other before you so that I can examine you
and learn the secrets of the celestial beings!" With a low chuckle the conjurer stepped closer
to the glowing figure. Suddenly a golden blaze shot through with silver bursts from the being's
eyes as it opens them. With a laugh the glowing figure looks the evil conjurer over and shakes
it's head saying "Wicked conjurer, you have no idea of the power you play with. Had you truly
succeeded in calling forth an angel or archon to torture and play with the holy rays of the
heavenly plane would have burned you and burned the magic from you so you could never do such
again." With that said the glowing figure steps out of the summoning circle directly in front
of the conjurer looking deep into the eyes of the wicked one and says "While you have had
partial success in touching the heavenly planes, what you called forth is not an angel or archon
because I was a mere human before but I have been touched by the holy light in the heavenly plane
and have been altered in my journey here to the mortal realms once again. You circle is no
protection against my kind." Fear can be seen within the conjurer's eyes as doubt fills his soul
and the wicked conjurer goes to his knees pleading with the glowing figure before him thinking he
must have accidentally called forth a demigod or even a minor god. Except the figure is no god
and begins to pummel the evil conjurer with nothing but it's fists. As the conjurer starts to lose
consciousness, he notices that the glow from the figure has lessened and looks nothing more like a
human male with glowing skin and hair, though the golden eyes with silver whorls give away that
he is no longer human. Seeing that the conjurer is beaten down and about to die he stops and leans
close to the conjurer's face so that he is the last thing he sees before he falls to the depths
of Hell and says "My name is Odlo Shadowend, I am what they call an Azure-touched, know that
your last actions in this mortal world served the Light rather than the Dark." Watching the
conjurer take his last breath and then die Odlo turns away from the bloody scene and walks out
of the conjurer's laboratory, finding his way to the outside world, wondering what the
world has in store for him this time around.
Becoming a Paladin

It has been a year since the conjurer summoned Odlo back to this plane. Although Odlo remembers
nothing from his previous life on the mortal plane, he remembers his name and for him that is enough
to start a new life here as a mortal. He has made his way throughout Thera doing odd jobs here and
there, not having found what he has been searching for yet. On his way through a city far to the
west of Galadon, beyond what any maps have shown, he comes across a guild that is slightly run
down. Looking at the sign beside the door he sees a halberd crossed with a staff, a kite shield
over them with a sword sitting upright on the shield itself while a fist sits below the shield.
Curious about the crest of this guild Odlo steps inside to find it fairly empty of anything with
only an old man sitting in the GuildMaster's chair, his curiosity peaked even further he steps closer
to the Guildmaster and asks "What is this guild? I was intrigued by the crest as it seems like something
a warrior guild would have." The Guildmaster, surprised at someone entering the guild and even more
surprised at someone asking about the guild he perks up and says "Young man this Guild used to be a
Guild that others envied and aspired to have as much success as we once did, that has changed in
recent years however, they all want to be warriors or assassins or thieves." Taking a moment to
reflect upon the past the Guildmaster sighs as he remembers better years then is startled to remember
he had been speaking to a young man and just drifted off without having answered the young man's
question. Scratching his chin in thought for a moment he takes a closer look at the young man noticing
something strange about him, there appeared to be glow coming from within his skin and his hair.
Having noticed these things the Guildmaster realized he had yet to answer the question and coughs to
cover up his embarrassment and says "Yes well, to answer your question plainly this is the Paladin's
Guild. Where men and women alike train to become paladins, what type of paladin they choose to be
after they learn the basics is up to them of course. To answer your question about our crest, the
staff and halberd represent the Champion dedication within the Guild, the shield and sword can mean
different things depending on who you talk to but the guild founder meant for the sword and shield to
represent two dedications at once. You have the Defender dedication which uses the shield and
can use one handed weapons such as a one handed sword. The sword on the shield can also represent
the Avenger dedication which uses two handed swords, and finally you have the fist, which stands for
the Monk dedication as they do not arm themselves with anything but their fists." Odlo ponders
over this for a few moments then nods and says "I understand, and having walked into this guild and
listened to your words, I feel like I have come home, so I have decided to train to become a Paladin."
Worshipping Ishuli

Another year passed as Odlo trained to learn the basics of being a Paladin, the Guildmaster had been
eager when Odlo expressed his interest in wanting to be a Paladin so he trained Odlo himself
and taught Odlo what he needed to know. However the Guildmaster also saw this as an opportunity to
not only increase his guild but bring another into the Light of Ishuli. So the Guildmaster trained
Odlo in the basics of a Paladin and the faith of Ishuli as well. Drawn to the faith by the Light
that Ishuli represented Odlo knew that Ishuli was the best choice for him. Dedicating himself to the
Purity aspect of Her faith, he restricts himself from ever being able to lay with a woman ever again.
Champion Dedication and Entering the Fortress

Once he learned all that he could from the Guidlmaster Odlo decides that is time to move on and
bring the Light and Ishuli to the dark corners of Thera. Along his travels he finally gains enough
insight to be able to dedicate himself to a particular way of fighting as a Paladin, so after some
careful thought and consideration Odlo decides to become a Champion and fight with either a staff or
polearm. Not long after deciding to fight as a Champion, Odlo encounters an Acolyte from the Fortress
of Light, they talk for a while and travel. When their travels ended Odlo thought about this Fortress
wondering if he should seek to become a part of it or not, after considering it for a while Odlo
knows that the best thing for him to do is seek the Fortress of Light and try to be a Maran in the
Brigade. Odlo must bloody himself on a darkling before being able to join the Brigade as a Squire so
after several failed attempts he finally finds one and slays it, securing his entrance into the
Brigade. From there Odlo knew it was only a matter of time before he was a full fledged Maran.
His prediction came true as he won another battle with a darkling then another and became a Maran, a
full member of the Holy Brigade. From there he became only more powerful and won more battles against
those that serve the Dark.

forth. He became a Paladin and a worshipper of Ishuli then dedicated himself as a Champion. Finally
he decided to become a Maran in the Fortress, and accomplished what he set out to do. He's currently
a Maran in the Fortress.
