Description

An intimidating specimen of his race, this orc's massive figure looms large here. Though his posture is somewhat hunched he still reaches over seven feet tall with a stocky muscular build. His gore splattered armour serves to enhance his fearsome aspect, much of it forged from the scales of large adult dragons, other pieces ornately forged from the finest metals, a hint of their previous finery still perceptible through the mud and gore. Even the orc's face looks like a dangerous weapon. Two long tusks, unbroken in his life still jut from his lower jaw. A steel masque adds more spikes on his cheekbones, and two backward curving, black horns have sprouted from his brow. Around his belt are a variety of weapons, some large and crude, others more exotic, unnatural implements of pain and destruction. His irregular breathing comes out as a series of low growls and he moves like a prowling cat. Clearly this orc has not only lived but thrived in the society that bore him, and has become all the more dangerous for it.

Ogrot is a typically lying, greedy, boastful, cowardly orc. Like all orcs he
believes he gains strength from eating his enemies but is particularly fond
of brains. He calls himself the 'smartest orc' and will expend much effort
making sure he is well practice and well armed. However when angered he will
go to great lengths to revenge himself.

growing orc

Ogrot very much enjoys being a Grinning Skull orc. He has managed to pillage
several adventurers, and when things have gone bad he has been able to call
upon other orcs to help him get his revenge. He is at his happiest when in
the company of other orcs, and he thinks Skyljung and Agbog are both fine
members of the tribe and nearly as smart as he believes himself to be, as
well as being bigger. He hopes to meet the chieftain soon, who is the biggest
orc of all. Non-orcs often speak in strange terms leading Ogrot to think they
must be stupid. He is very proud to be a Grinning Skulls orc even if he has
no clear idea of what their objectives are besides eating.

not smartest

Ogrot has lost confidence from being killed so often. He doubts that he is
smart after all, and is instead simply angry. He is building a great dislike
of imperials and felars owing to his deaths at their hands.

Maturity

As Ogrot approaches maturity, he has proved himself to be at least capable of
surviving orcish life, and it comes the time to distinguish himself among
orcs and choose a path to adapt to. He has considered the life of a mundunugu
blood mage, which might suit him on the grounds of his own self professed
cunning, and his cordial relations with several mages. However, in his darker
moments it is his anger which defines him. This, and a desire to emulate his
friend Sklynjung leads him to consider the path of the shig-ru. A difficult
decision, but one he must make soon.

growing confidence and isolation

Ogrot has been saddened to know his friend Sklynjung is no more, and wishes
there were more orcs to fight alongside, but has grown in confidence with
several victories, including one over his nemesis Sccram which forced the
felar into hiding. The anti-paladin Kuul betrayed him, not respecting the
orcs self-perceived intellectual superiority. His one remaining constant ally
is Draquade, though tensions are building after several ventures left him
carelessly letting his familiar die. 

He has recently been to the inn of the eternal star, where Eralsodiz used
slices of diseased rat that Ogrot bought him in his recipes. He does not
understand the cooking process but all the running round and shouting the
giant did stimulated Ogrot.

Most of all, Ogrot wants the companionship of other orcs to impress with his
strength and cunning. He is beginning to be concerned by the fact he has
never seen the Chieftain Oloice and for the first time considers taking the
position of chieftain for himself, but still intends to do much work before
rising further in the orcish ranks, particularly in imposing his will on other
orc-like creatures

Getting ready for bigger things

Ogrot is somewhat happier about the Grinning Skulls now that he has met with
the chieftain, albeit briefly, and several younger orcs have begun to
adventure in the realms. He does his best to give them armours and advice so
he can some day know the joy of roaming with a group of other orcs again.

He has continued to visit the Eternal star and maintains good relations with
Eralsodiz, but has no intention whatsoever of leaving the skulls to join the
heralds full time. His relations with the village of battlerager are mixed,
but often poor. He is good natured towards some of them (which does not
preclude attempted murder), but has percieved grevious insults from others.

He is no longer killing other adventurers with much regularity, it being
difficult to find any who will stick around for a fight, but equally has not
fallen, despite often taking on groups of two and three. With a little more
practice, and given that the younger orcs grow up to ranks near his own, he
considers making strides towards the final ranks of the orcs, to finally test
his strength against the heroes of Thera.

Warlord

Added Tue Mar 18 15:11:28 2014 at level 50:
Now known as a Warlord in the Grinning Skulls, Ogrot has been sowing terror
and destruction in his wake. Few dare to face him alone, one notable example
being the felar Mewnmu who is fearless but foolhardy. Ogrot has been passing
down his scraps to younger orcs in the hope they will some day grow to be of
use to the clan. He still spends much of his time without other adventuring
orcs however, and has decided to challenge the chief for his throne the next
time they meet.

He is using the time until this happens to determine the relations to the
other powers in Thera he will establish once he has command of the clan. Thus
far, he has strained relations with the battlerager village, has made attacks
on the nexus isle on account of it being full of dwarves, and enjoys mutual
alliance with the reavers in the refuge, who do not seem to have noticed his
demoniac affiliations - not that Ogrot is aware that this may be a problem.
His relations with the Empire are erratic, and he dislikes the tribunals,
though fears somewhat to be branded a criminal. There is no question as to
whether to make war on the fortress - they are a bastion of elf love and must
be destroyed. He dislikes the scions after having been attacked by several
and killed by one and gives favour to the cultists of the ruby scarab, from
whom he has recieved valuable gifts.

Ogrot is also beginning to become more aware of and interested in his partly
demonic nature, although it is uncertain where if anywhere this will lead at
present.

Getting old

Added Sun Mar 30 09:05:46 2014 at level 50:
Nearing old age, Ogrot still has yet to meet the reigning chief to issue a
challenge for the throne - not since the day he became Warlord. As such he
has taken to proclaiming himself to be already the chief, and states that
Oloice fears to show his face when Ogrot walks the lands. 

Of the allies and enemies known to him in his youth, nearly all have
perished, Ogrot showing his capacity for survival and endurance beyond
theirs. One exception is Azzael, the exiled dark elf cleric, with whose
blessings Ogrot has not only seen but plundered the farthest reaches and
darkest depths of Thera - the Tower of Trothon and the city of Aran'gird
among such places. 

Of the younger orcs the Ogrot has been providing for, "feedin 'em scraps",
only Wrlmga has thus far reached the point of Adaptation. Ogrot thinks little
of the younger orc's capacity to prosper by his own means but is still
enticed by the prospect of once again having an ally in a fellow orc (in fact
he wishes for nothing more) and is sure he will prove useful.

Having been spoken to by the god of blood, Akresius, Ogrot briefly attemped
to live as this god might wish, fightin alone as a matter of principle and
offering skins full of blood to this god. However this decidedly unorcish
behaviour precipitated something of a crisis in him, and he has since
abandoned any pretense of trying to act as a follower of Akresius.

Despite this return to more orc-like ways, Ogrot still feels a measure of
uncertainty at times, even questioning his own existence and purpose -
something he attributes to having consumed a prodigious amount of brains, but
this persistence of unorcish thought may be something else more sinister..

Finally, he is beginning to become aware of posessing a somewhat fearsome
reputation which is on the one hand, perhaps not justified simply by the
number of other adventurers he has lain to rest, but perhaps on the other
hand impedes him in doing so as it potentially reduces the number of
opponents willing to try their luck against him alone.
