Description

A dark, stocky Duergar meets your gaze, an almost visible stench surrounding his ragged form. His fingers, wide as large sausages, are clenched tight into balls which hang down at his side and move toward his weapon-- which is surely within reach just underneath his belt. A large, pockmarked and bulbous nose dominates his visage, and is surrounded on all sides of his face by spontaneous patches of thick, wiry gray beard, torn out in spots by either age or force, or both.

Wizardress and Escape

It was a dark-elven wizardress, Ogsert remembers her well. This magician had
been making deals with the Family for several hundred years, surely planning
for this moment the whole time.

The duergar clan of Ogsert's kin had at first been weary of the outsider.
But over time, she had allowed her services to be accepted. And after more
time, her services became counted upon. And now, this wizardress had the
clan completely under her control.

And although a younger member of the Clan, and not yet an Initiate of the
Family, Ogsert was the only one who could see what was going to happen.

This wizardress had somehow wrenched thousands of years of tightly-clenched
Duergar stubborn-ness and tradition and prosperous treachery into her own
grasp. The Family was no more, and this corner of the Underdark was now hers
to control as she wished.

It was her magic, which proved to be no match for the Duergar.

But Ogsert had not been dissuaded. He alone had gotten out, swearing his 
revenge...

The Package

Added Sat Dec 1 03:23:09 2012 at level 51:

One evening while leaving Galadon through the most inconspicouos alleyway,
Ogsert comes face to face with a shadowy figure. Immediately Ogsert draws
his blade, preparing to drive the hilt straight through to bone. However,
this man does not contain the taint of magic. Instead, Ogsert sheaths his
blade and grabs the figure by the throat with one hand, lifting him up
against the hard cold brick wall of the alley. He wipes some spittle
from his own beard with the other.

"What yer want eh? Ya been followin me."

The figure doesn't speak, but instead passes to Ogsert a small wadding of
bloodied gauze, with the seal of Bogezcelli pressed into the most bloodied
spot.

Still holding the figure up with his right hand, Ogsert unwraps the contents
of the package with his other. Ogsert nods and grins at the contents--  a
Duergar toe. The girth of the toe implies it could only be a a Bogezcelli.
Based on the amount of hair on it, likely his sister's.

Finally, the figure speaks: "The wizardress, she wants what you have. Your
family, is not dead. Not completely. You know where to find her."

In one motion, Ogsert shoves the toe into the figure's mouth with one hand,
and crushes his windpipe with the other. To make sure, he slits his throat
before letting him fall to the ground.

This is good news for Ogsert.

Kin

Added Sat Dec 29 02:57:39 2012 at level 51:

Ogsert snorts, "Ah toe. This s'posed ta make me scared? Ah'll get to the
toe .. er, bottom o' this!"

Seething with rage, Ogsert could barely think.

Without gathering any provisions or taking any precautions, Ogsert headed
straight toward the Underdark, toward the place that he used to call home.

...
There is no army awaiting him. In fact, it seems a welcoming party awaits.
...

Conspicuously, Ogsert enters the Bogezcelli Meeting room. What he sees 
twists the rage he had been containing into unbridled fury. His sister sits
next to the Wizardress. They both are grinning, as though a joke had been
uttered, and Ogsert had just missed the punchline.

(Her foot... was missing a toe. She seemed not to mind or acknowledge it.)

The Wizardress does not speak. Instead, his sister: "Ogsert, ya got Our
message ah see?! Yer went astray, but now, ya returned! Give me the
Blade of our Fathers, and yer can return to yer follosh crusade."

(The Blade was the the Bogezcelli House Item of Power. Ogsert had taken it
on his way out of town so many years ago. He meant to keep it).

His Sister continues: "Ya got no place 'ere boy!. Why don't ya jus' go.. "   

They had no idea. Ogsert had been waiting for this moment in front of the
Wizardress for a hundred years. Before another syllable was uttered, Ogsert 
drives his dagger through the Wizardress's chest. And in almost the same
moment, the dagger was sliced across his sister's throat. So much for Kin.

It was clear. His Sister had sold out the Bogezcelli Clan, and intended to
draw Ogsert back to gather the last remaining item of power for Herself.

Ogsert had no problem whatsoever killing them both. Actually, it was too
easy. It had been planned so much more elaborately in his mind.

This had an effect on Ogsert. The rage was building.
