Description

A dark elf male stands hunched over before you. The outline is correct, but the elongation of the legs and arms are quite striking and do not represent what normal proportions would look like. He twitches and moves in a more fluid way. As if he is slinking along trying to go unnoticed. His arms and legs grasp foward and look to grab into the earth and pull him foward. If you did not know better, it would be the action of a worm. His flesh is pitch black and muted in nature. It does not seem to reflect any light and and looks to be a darkness almost like a void. His eyes are oval and bulbous, and are ashen white. As he looks about and blinks, it is like light is winked out of existence then returns. His head turns quickly back and forth, turning just a bit more than would or should be comfortable.

Role

The Pathways of the UnderDark

The darkness is pure and Ompyis is a dark elven male
with his parents in the tunnels of the UnderDark. They live within
them and do not seek the safety of the Dark Elf City or any other
structures or strongholds. They live within the wilds of the tunnels
and live with the danger and the heightened experience of this
life. With that life comes the dangers....

Rocks start falling from the ceiling and young Ompyis, only very
recently at an age of survival (who would think fourty years old
is when you start being able to function as a being), stares at
the ceiling in horror. He knows the signs and does his parents.
Both of his parents look about the tunnel frantically as the
rumbling becomes louder and louder. They know how to survive
this encounter, but there is luck to it. They must find a diamond
or mithril ore deposit within the caverns to hide near, as this
is the only thing what is coming cannot digest...

The three of them see a glint of the mithril flecks in the stone
in a large deposit to their right. They all run to it just as
as massive Purple Worm bursts from the other side of the cavern
looking for prey. Quickly, they gather up Ompyis and in a
moment of almost "human" emotion, they push him forward under
the outcropping. That action exposes them both to the purple
worm. As Ompyis presses himself up against the mithril ore
he can hear is own flesh burn against it, as the horrid metal
cooks his skin. But thsi fate is better than his parents as
the Purple Worm rears up and opens its mouth and slams down
on the ground around his parents. They are swallowed whole
and all that is left in the cavern is a quietness and a 
burning smell of Ompyis's skin. One would think the dark elf
youth would be horrified, or shocked, but this is the way
and this is a way to die for his people. All Ompyis feels is
utter awe and respect and is filled with contentment his
parents met their end as they should. Thar Eris is awesome
and the UnderDark serves again the reminder of the true greatness
of the wilds and Her.

Feeding Her, Feeding UnderDark from OverLight

Societies on the OverLight are beginning to forget the true
brutality and honesty of that brutality within the wilds. They
have their cute houses, and fences high to avoid the wild
beings of the OverLight. They feel protected and have come
to a point in their world that they feel security is an absolute.

That is what Ompyis is going to change. It is time they feel
the fear they should as prey to Thar Eris. The OverLight has
has become weak and that is the reason why Thar Eris is dying
for those beings within it are falling outside the Cycle too
far. They feel too content, too satisfied, too fat. Ompyis is
is going to nibble the fat away until he is strong enough to
swallow it whole, just like what happened to his parents. A
proud moment, one must add.

Aligned with the Earth, the UnderDark

Ompyis has not given up its ways of thriving and living within
the dangers of the UnderDark. As it grows in power it will
find most of its time there, patrolling its tunnels as if
he is also one of the hunters of the UnderDark. OverLight fools
that go down there, even others of the Tree, will most likely
find themselves reminded of this brutal and unrelenting place.

It was born under the sign of Earth as that is where it thrives.
Those environments within the UnderDark, water and tunnels is
why it has embraced the shapefocus it has. There will be no
safe place for any who come down there. The animalistic nature
of the shapeshifting guild is exactly why he sought it as well.
What better to remind enemies of the dangers of the Wilds than
to be one of the Wilds itself. This is why he seeks both the
Tree and the Shapeshifting guild.

No divine rules over the Earth, and Ompyis sees that as a truth
that should be recognized, as no divine being can. It is something
that any divine that does come to play there is a visitor. Only
the Ancients have dominion over the Earth and only Her is the
keeper.

Biggest Enemies of the UnderDark

There are many creatures of the Underdark, but those that do not
belong and do so much harm to it, dwarves, duergar, svirfneblin, 
are deeply hated by Ompyis. Regardless of what the Tree states
about svirfneblin, they are tunneling, horrid tiny rats that
deserve the same fate as the duergar and dwarves. This view means
of all the hated beings of Thar Eris, those are of the highest
and most required to be purged. Ompyis will have no mercy for 
those of these races and only within the Tree of Ages would
svirfneblin be protected, and that is only by Ancient decree.

If they are found anywhere else, dwarves, duergar, or svirfneblin,
they will be hunted and slain relentlessly.

Worship of the Earthen Death, Purple Worms

Most beings of Thar Eris worship divine beings. Others worship
demons, and even others worship theories of things like the
wind and fire, and water. Ompyis simply worships brutality in
action.

The Purple Worm is a construct of that, and it is a being that
while not unique, is rare enough to embody a blessed creature in
Ompyis's eyes. So any act of true brutality, on any side of
the coin brings the highest respect from Ompyis. Even if this
is done by the enemies. It is a curious thing to worship Brutality
and those that represent it.

Where are we now? Finding the Hook Horrors den

Rumored is that if you can find the home of the hook horrors, and
consume a freshly layed hook horror egg, you can incorporate its
blood into your own. If you are a denizen of the Under Dark, then
there is a chance to embrace that blood and transform your flesh 
to that being. This is what Ompyis continues to quest for. 

It has been a long road, and the search continues, but he senses
he is close. Although it is too late to help him in his younger
years, he hopes it will be the thing to bring brutality and horror
to those that think the Under Dark is a place to find safety.

Experiences so far in the Over Light

As you know, Ompyis greatly dislikes the Over Light and all that
it stands for. It finds its niceities and general disregard for
brutality and survival of the fittest to be insulting at best. 
But any being of Thar Eris continues to reevaluate its environment
and attempt to make successful places it must wander. 

The first was to see if svirfneblin are truly worthless as Ompyis
has started out knowing in his heart. He gave one named Hornsby a
chance as Ompyis wanted to learn badly to his next blood shape
and that one offered to help. 

Immediately the true colors of the fool svirfneblin was shown.
It showed up with some Over Light stammered greeting which was
overly chipper and annoying. It then proceeded to help with killing
only three then immediately had to go to help others. It was pathetic
show of worth and solidified Ompyis's complete hatred of svirfneblin
of all kinds. It is a wonder why Thar Eris does not mark them to be
exterminated as well.

Ompyis's time also in the Outlanders has been both enjoyable and
problematic. The Over Light weakness has sunk into a lot of the
Tree folk. They fight for the cause, but so many are weak, confused,
and fumbling, like prey waiting for a cavefisher to pick off. Even
reavers are not immune to this. The dark elven shaman of the Tree
fumble around Empire, walking like an elf baby child lost in the woods
but then has no way to learn better. That one would be best to be
fodder and serve Thar Eris that way.

The Nightreaver seems to be a different story. That one looks to
be a somewhat competent hunter. It stalks well, although clumsy at
times, but ultimately that one is suitable, for now, to hold that
mantle. We shall see going forward.

The Reaving of Night, the Tending of Worms

Echoes in the caverns of the Under Dark as the screams of
of the dying reach Ompyis's ears. The delicious sounds of
worms slurping up the blood of the defilers. A small smile
crosses his face as he feels satisfied with the work so far.

Now Nightreaver, and the main predator for Her, Ompyis is
proud of the feedings. The worms, purple worms, thuqqa, and
Underdark lampreys, carrion feeders, cavefishers, and so
much more are feeding well. They are growing and growling
for more. Soon, the trails of blood they have been following
and feeding them, leads closer and closer to the surface.

If they can be led to the Sewers of Galadon, the river near
Voralian City, and burst out the Under Dark sea on the Open
Sea near Hamsah, they can bring Her wrath to all those cities.

That is Ompyis's goal with feeding them. To normalize their
feeding grounds to be on the surface as well. There is a 
reason no large cities have grown in the Under Dark. They
are isolated by Her and her beasts. Now is the time that
the surface feels the same bite and sting. Ompyis is the
Wormtender, and he will bring the massive worms to the
surface and begin consuming everything.
