Description

A midnight-blue colored giant, stretching to nearly fourteen feet in length is here before you. The dark skin contrasts sharply with his long, white hair, which is a bundle of individual braids pulled back and secured by a heavy leather tie. In the tie is also a collection of raven feathers. His face is hardened and tough, as one who has spent much time in the wilds but his eyes belie a gentleness underneath his dour visage. You spot tattoos on his thick neck, that look a bit like tree branches, but have difficulty making them out clearly as they disappear beneath his clothing and armor. His shoulders are broad and give way to a lithe, muscular frame. His armor and weapons are mismatched, but have the care of a seasoned soldier, and black leather bag is fastened to his belt at his right hip. Curiously, you notice a raven that often rests on his shoulder, and is never far from its apparent master.

- Orrusta was born to a tribe of war-like storm giants that live in a hidden
valley beyond Mount Calandaryl. This long and wide valley contains multiple
tribes of all three of the major giant races. They are far removed from the
politics of Thera, and visitors are extremely rare, with most giants only
seeing an outsider once or twice in their entire lifetimes.

- His people, and all giant tribes in the valley had religious customs
centered around the Ancients and generally ascribed to an Outlander-like
philosophy, but did not develop such extreme views on things like coins or
towns generally. These concepts were curiosities and legends of far-off
lands the explorers that stumbled across their idyllic valley described
to them. The idea that you did not just naturally co-exist with the land
was a foreign concept to them.

- Orrusta and much of the valley suffered tragedy at the hands of some of
these visitors, a conclave of wizards scheming to use the giants as pit
fighters and slave labor.

- He will seek out the teachings of Sennoseri, because he wishes to
prevent any tragedies befalling other valleys, such as the ones that
befell his. But he sees the greed and trickery of wizards as the source
of that ill, and so will follow her as a Battlerager.

- He remains good at heart, and should generally refrain from killing or
attacking any good mages, though as time goes and the war weighs on him,
that stance could change.

- He speaks well, especially considering his tribal upbringing. When he
arrived in the Southlands (as he calls Thera generally) he quickly
learned to read and found the stories and languages they were told in to
be fascinating.

- He finds the beauty in most things, being born under that sign, and is
particularly fond of his pet ravens, of which he has had many, and will
usually take a feather when one passes and tie it into his hair.

Added Sat Sep 14 08:04:40 2024 at level 51:

- Orrusta has grown a bit more dour and jaded as time has moved on. He has
been able to accomplish a few things, he has joined the Battleragers, reached
the pinnacle of his guild, and seen things he could only imagine as a young
storm giant in the distant north. But the war in the Southlands is savage
and joyless. Here they do not feast with their enemies after a well fought
battle, or congratulate each other on their prowess. He finds it somewhat
difficult to make a connection with his own tribe, much less his enemies.

- To this end, and after his talk with Demelicto the General, he will
try to do something, at least about the feasts. He will hold a series of
feasts with a few groups. First, his tribe the Battleragers. The feast will
include a few feats of daring for the entertainment of his barbarian kin.
The second feast will be for the Outlanders, a tribe he does not fully
understand, but feels a connection to, based on their commitment to the
protection of Thar-Eris. This feast he hopes to include a contest of
storytelling, to learn the myths of the Southlands and how they worship
the Ancients much better. He will then hold a feast for the giants, which
he hopes will remind him of home. This feast will include contests of
combat and honor, as he knew as a young storm giant. The final feast
will be the feast of Sennoseri, to which all will be invited, and he
hopes to spread her teachings and remind the Southlanders that War is
a part of the cycle, and at the end, we all return to Her, whether we
worship Her or not.

- While he still finds beauty in most places others do not, he notices that
he has been much less reflective lately, and will endeavor to improve this.
He will work to remark on the beauty of the Southlands to others, in hopes
that even his enemies will take a moment to appreciate the miracles of the
Ancients, and what has been built upon Her body.

- Point of order if it's not clear: Her refers to Thar-Eris, Mother is in
reference to Sennoseri specifically.
