Description

This lithe graceful figure that you gaze upon must be nearly five and a half feet tall, though the way it stands you can not truly be certain. It is not a truly hunched manner but its body seems to almost contort as it moves so that its height is almost always changing. It covers its form in dark flowing cloth of obviously exceptional cut and stitch. The cloth almost shines although the light seems to merely just dance past it instead of reflect off of it, belaying a sense of shifting shadows. His armor is well maintained, and appears to allow His freedom of movement. His weapons are light, but appear quite capable of inflicting serious harm in the right hands. His hair is a pale grey, almost luminous, falling loose about his face. His figure is difficult to make out under His armor, particularly given the midnight black cloak slashed with scarlet thrown over it.

Role

Otuerghad Beginnings

Added Sat Jun 25 22:53:36 2011 at level 18:
Otuerghad was born in the city of Teth Azeleth to a distiguished
drow in the city. His father was one of the elite soldiers assigned
to protect the Queen from outsiders. Unfortunately, Otuerghad did
not mature with the extreme physique that his father had and hence
was not trained down the warrior path as he often failed and was
ridiculed, thus embarassing his father.

Otuerghad was then pushed to pursue the path of to be a great
warlock, much like his sisters who were quite profound in their
magical prowess. However, Otuerghad lacked the true patience and
desire to practice and master his spells, so he was quickly exiled
from both the school for mages and warriors.

Otuerghad decided to leave Teth Azeleth as it was clear to him that
he was not welcomed. His father shed a tear when Otuerghad left, but
was too proud to ask him to stay. Otuerghad was able to climb his way
to the surface where he landed in Upper Craagstone after sneaking
on an elevator.

Otuerghad stumbled across more egotistical warriors in this city,
but also discoved something called a rogue. He meant a svirf rogue
in the city, with a similar build as his, and watch this fellow
embarrass, maledict and rob groups of warriors who could do little
about it.

Otuerghad then asked this thief where he learned such tasks and
he took him to the guildmaster. The guildmaster scoffed at Otuerghad
and told him that there is no way a drow could be taught the ways
of the trapping thief, and make a remark that he doubt he could
even carry a trap.

Otuerghad after being rejected by the guildmaster, decided to wander
about and learn if there were other of the rogue types in the land.

Then he stumbled upon the Blackclaw village, and talked to the Spy Master
there, who mentioned that he would gladly let him into the guild
and show him the ropes. The SPy Master even put up the funds required
to become a part of this guild.

Otuerghad joins the Empire

Added Thu Jul 7 22:54:52 2011 at level 33:
Otuerghad after travelling the lands, ran into a variety of
different people. He met those that claimed to be the finest
warriors of the land, but fell quite quickly when faced by
a strong thief or assassin. They claimed themselves to
want to destroy magic and that it is not needed. Otuerghad
has found good uses of magic and thinks that these so called
elite warriors must of visited the bar too much.

However, Otuerghad did come across two "elite" shadow warriors
that offered him the BloodOath. He took awhile to think on it
as he had heard rumors that they can be demanding on gold coins.

So he decided to wait until he could gather enough gold before
joining the Empire.

Otuerghad the Imperial Shadow

Added Mon Aug 8 00:13:12 2011 at level 41:
Otuerghad has spent the last couple of years training in the Imperial ways. He has witnessed
the Emperor cast away his whole council as they had tried to overthrow him.
Otuerghad however, realizes that this is a bad time, as he has not been able to advance
to the pinnacle of his guild, and suspects that Sivyh will name Wiril as the next Shadow Lord.

Wiril presents a trheat to Otuerghad as Otuerghad can not seem to understand Wiril's motives or
ambitions. He seems to want a lot of the Shinies that Otuerghad has managed to collect, and Otuerghad
needs to get in Wiril's good graces somehow. He also needs not upset the Emperor.

Otuerghad has begun pleasing the Emperor by offering him gifts which he manage to secure
from others. Mainly an Ancient Red Dragon Hide and a Wave Dancer.

Otuerghad continues to try and paint himself in a good light and look for ways to
paint Wiril in a lesser light so that he may become Shadow Lord.

War Master and Tavlin's promise

Added Fri Aug 26 21:07:41 2011 at level 46:
Having observed most of the Imperial Blades that have become Elites, Otuerghad is
now questinoning the War Master's motives, as all of them seen to be afraid to gain titles, and
most simply will only fight the weak ones of the lands. This tends to disgust Otuerghad
and holds the blades in low regard. He suspects the War Master of keeping the sect weak on purpose

He hopes to somehow find a way to disrupt the Empire's view of the blades, such that the
War Master will not make the next emperor.

An interesting proposal was made by the mummy leader of the Scion's who goes by
the name of Tavlin. He offered Otuergard the freedom to do as he pleases without being hunted
by the mummy in excahgne for a neckpiece that the War Master is wearing.
Otuerghad did not directly refuse the proposal, but might take the necklace if given the opportunity
and then decide if the mummy is worht trusting.

Wiril, the Shadow Lord

Added Thu Sep 22 00:35:22 2011 at level 48:
It has been a long time since Otuerghad has seen the Shadow Lord they call Wiril.
The Emperor has said that the fate of the Shadow Lord lies in the hands of the Lords, so Otuerghad suspects
that some sort of pact has been made between Wiril and the Lords. As the only communication that
Otuerghad has seen, was a ridiculous scroll to obtain the other sects favorite drink.

Otuerghad sees this as a waste of time, in that he could care less what drink the other sects favor, and
would rather slit their throats or steal from them if needed in order to become Emperor.
He also suspects the other Shadows of merely making up the information, as the Shadow Lord
would have no way of verifying such information from the bed which he slumbers from in his room.

He only will follow the Shadow Lord, since as a dedicated soldier, he will follow the Imperial Law, but
views him too weak to do much as evidenced by the silly task he assigned.

In the meantime, Otuerghad intends of trying to spread his influence amoung Thera and the Empire.

Shadow Lord Promotion.

Added Sat Oct 1 13:54:11 2011 at level 49:
Otuerghad has been finally been given one of the titles he has deserved. However, apparently
in his absence, the Emperor seems to have passed away as well. This is
quite disspointing, however it provides an opportunity to take control of the Empire,
and continue to have it remain in the Shadow Sects hands. Otuerghad intends to at least
avoid having it fall into the War Master's hands if he can not secure such a feat.

Otuerghad will work on collecting donations for some of the stronger foes of the other
sects in an attempt to garner a vote, if and whne they come into power and a vote for Emperor is
called for.

The Vote for Emperor

Added Mon Oct 24 23:47:32 2011 at level 51:
It seems that Lord Enlith has filled the remaining council spots, now it is the time for
Otuerghad to try and take the throne. He has made bargains with both the Dread Lord and the High Priestess for their
votes. However, he does not trust either to live up to their end of the bargain.

He must cast a vote, and for now it remains with the healer, as Otuerghad sees him less of a threat, to
obtain and remain in power for as long as the mummy. Also some of the mummy's lack of dedication and
the lack of brains in some cases will hamper the Empire.

Disgust for Empire and the Empress

Added Tue Nov 22 21:09:21 2011 at level 51:
Otuerghad has grown tired of waking to No Codex, No Citizens,
No Leadership, No Fear instilled by the Empire in the rest of Thera.

The War Master had approached him indicated the desire of the High
Priest and himself to overthrow the Empress, and have the War Master take the throne
for himself. It seems that the War Master has lost his precious mummy friend to the Empress
and her crazy Anathema, and he wishes the mummy reinstated. The Empress however has expressed
venom towards both the mummy and the Tree, yet is no where to be seen. In addition
the Empress constantly requests the Shadow Lord's prized posessions, merely to sleep with them.

Normally, Otuerghad would express an interest to vote for the War Master as a
successor, but after looking around the Empire, the only Citizens ever seen are his shadows,
and one Black. So Otuerghad does not see the need to support the War Master who can not
even grow his own troops.

Perhaps Otuerghad must start to show more dominance and hope to catch a Lord's favor
in supporting him to usurp the Empress and the War Master.

Empress's Demotion

Added Sat Nov 26 14:45:15 2011 at level 51:
Otuerghad has now been demoted unjustly by the Empress. He has worked so hard to keep the
Empire aflost in her absence. He even manage to hold off the War Master for calling
a vote, but only to be cast down from his Shadow Lord spot himself.

Despite him revealing to the Empress the plot against her, she still
cast him and then proceeded to promote his Elite immediately in his place to further
add insult to injury.

He has lost all respect for the Empress, and will not aid her much. She tried to blame Lord
Enlilth himself for the plot that the war master has cooked up.
However, Otuerghad had spoke with Lord Enlilth, and he saw no reason to demote
so he founds it to be simple lie that the Empress is blaming Lord Enlilth, rather
than take responsiblity for her own actions like a true coward.

Time to Move Forward

Added Mon Jan 2 21:38:52 2012 at level 51:
For the last twenty plus awakenings, Otuerghad has not see the Empress nor the Shadow Lord,
and has grown tired of hearing of fallen comrades who have tken their lives due to lack of leadership
and senses no dedication to the existing Empire or Empress. Therefore, he has decided
to send a note to Lord Enlilth and the rest of the Empire in hopes to inspire them to
action.

At the very least, once word has gotten around the Empire, he will probably awaken the Empress to
at the very least awake long enough to Anathema him if that is her desire, but Otuerghad can not
simple stand still and quiet and let his Empire that he dedicated his heart, soul and life to simply
collapse.

The New Empire

Added Wed Jan 11 13:40:30 2012 at level 51:
Lord Enlilth listened to the couriers that were sent by Otuerghad in order to remove the Empress
and to allow the Empire to once again thrive. Lord Enlilth himself had made the point of
letting Otuerghad know that he would reclaim his rightful position as Shadow Lord, and that
the rest of the Council will be filled and vote will be taken.

Otuerghad now believes he has an advantage in influencing the vote so that he can take the throne. His intentions
are to influence those of the council that are not currently named, Qiirvas and Cabasko in hopes that one or both
of them will vote for him. He is leary of hte War Master, and suspects that anything the War Master says he will do, he will not
so therefore he will vote for either Cabasko or Qirrvas.

He has alredy tried to influence Cabasko without his knowledge by overpaying for some of the items he was selling,
assuming he might have been short on donations. He offered his eyes for Lord Enlilth's priest as well.

In the meantime, Otuerghad will grow his sect to be the mightiest of the Empire once again.

Emperor

Added Sun Feb 5 15:56:26 2012 at level 51:
Otuerghad has finally received what is worthy of him, The Imperial Throne.
His dedication and hard work have proved to pay off. Now, he can successfully return the Empire
to the glory it once held. He has spoken with Lord Enlilth, and intends on growing the oaths first, and then will work
on making the Fortress numbers go away so to speak. He will then focus on the Outlanders and the rest of the items. He is currently
undecided on a few things. Should he allow his head to be in the village? Or his key in the Island? And he ascertains
that the War Master is disgruntled. He would hate to lost such a strong warrior, but is contemplating whether he
will allow any contempt to take place if indeed there is some. His blades have alerted him to some of the shennanigans, and he
will see what the War master will do

In the meantime, he will grow and even provide the gold to do so if it is needed to sway
some of the citizens of Thera.

Calling for a vote for the War Master

Added Thu Feb 16 19:42:35 2012 at level 51:
Otuerghad senses that the War Master is not pleased abotu being named Emperor and is seeking to
overthrow him. Therefore, Otuerghad has taken an initiative and has asked all Blades to
place a vote for the War Master that they want.

However the actual tally of the vote will not matter and Otuerghad intends
to make the decision on his own, but is merely using the vote to figure out where the loyalties lie.

Also, he can then discern as to which Blades can follow simple directions and which ones
can not. In addition to see who aspires to become War Master.

The New War Master

Added Tue Feb 28 19:10:45 2012 at level 51:
The vote for a new War Master was just a polotical ploy as the War Master spot was never going to be Eleagra's
Otuerghad, however did learn where the loyalties of his blades were, and their opinion matched his own. Yarglen
was selected jsut above Elononia due to the ferocit he uses, and the ability he has to lead. But this vote told him
most of what he expected.

Tol, Seisorald, Eleagra voted for Eleagra which was expected
Elolania, Krugrawn, Grorbek, Canveritus all voted for Yarglen.
Tirrarraeor must not be able to read as that one did not cast a vote.
And Daantruso voted for Kurbrawn which was surprising.

So from these votes, I suspect the ones who voted for the War Master will simply not awake once the War Master is anathema'd.
That most of the current blades will be at least content with their new War Master.
And that the Bull doesn't recognize the dedication to put forth over a long period to become a War Master

The imaginary call for a vote had to be ended early as Eleafra had begun anathemaing those that were powerful and
viewed as a threat. Therefore the current decision is for Yarglen, but if Elolania makes a strong presence, then I
might be forced to change the War Master.

Although there are no plans in doing so at this time.

Vitality Quest.

Added Sat Mar 31 23:35:03 2012 at level 51:
Lord Enlilth has been ever so greatful to offer Otuerghad a quest to perform in order to strengthen his bones.

For the Task, Lord Enlilth had requested him to:
Bring him three things that define you, and three things that define the Empire.

After much deliberation, Otuerghad has decided to bring the following items:

500 gold - The high amount of gold represents the need of the Empire to fund its conquests. The Empire needs the
civilization that the gold represents. The gold is what allows the Centurions to be paid, the guild guards to be
protected and for future expansions.

The next item that I will bring before Lord Enlith, we actually be two items but represent a single idea, since I could not
find a way to fuse them together.

The Orb of Chaos and the dagger named Light of Redemption'
These represent the enemies of the Empire. For once these two ideas are defeated, the Empire will prosper and
expand to conquer all of Thera.

Lastly, to represent the Empire I have brought the orb of Order

This orb represents the guiding principle that ever Imperial must have. A sense of order, and the ability to
follow Imperial Law. Without adherence to the Imperial law, we will not be able to conquer Thera, and ultimately
fail to thrive.

Now the Three things that embody myself.
Kteng's Staff
On the surface this staff appears to be quite a simpel staff or talisman, much like one would view me.
A simple dark elf thief..However deep inside it, there is a different ability not really noticeable
until you further examine it. It serves as a key. Much like myself I am the key to the growth of the
Empire..my hidden trait..the ability to lead.

Glowing ember
The Fire ember trap is how most of my enemies perceive me. Striking unexpectedly, hard and persistent.
I feel this trap represents an accurate view from my enemies. It is often the first thing that hits them
and much like me, does not leave or give up so easily.

The last item I bring is a simple element that embodies my character.
Water - The water defines me as I view myself much like the water. Water always returns no matter what you
do to it. You drink it, it returns to its form eventually. You heat it and evaporate it, it falls back from the sky.
You freeze it, it remains there to thaw. Water is like me in that it is ever changing depnding on its environment
and must adjust to circumstances. I have done this going from a lowly oath to a Shadow Lord, back to an Elite,
back to a Shadow Lord, and then rising to an Emperor.

However, Otuerghad does not simply wish to bring such a simple thing as water, and will also offer a legendary
totem as a gift to the King, merely as a sign of gratitude for him granting an audience with him.
