Description
Dirty blond hair hangs down around the face of what by most
standards would be called cute. While much of her hair is left
to dangle down freely, a few braids are scattered throughout.
Her eyes are the lightest shade of blue, and her constant
wide-eyed expression makes her look as though someone has
just washed her face with a wet rag. Dimples adorn each cheek,
giving this woman a hearty smile, in turn revealing the small
gap between her two front teeth. Beside one dimple a small
tattoo has been branded, a tiny diamond surrounded by stars.
Dressed in a flowing gown of white and pale yellow linen, she
doesn't seem too bothered by anything around her. As you
glance at her left wrist you notice a scar that reads 'Duipre'.

Polymnia may be young, but has already experienced enough sorrow to
last her a lifetime. She was born into a gypsy camp on the eastern
continent and never really knew who her parents were exactly. No-one
bothered with heritage, ancestory nor bloodlines. She was cared for
and raised well enough but never bonded closely with anyone. That
was all to change though when a small band of travelling merchants
visited their camp selling 'rare' and 'precious' artwork.
She took an immediate fancy to the son of the leader. His name was
Duipre Psyche and had just joined his father's crew. They sailed to
the four corners of the realm in search of exquisite artwork long
lost. They were 'doing their bit', as they liked to say, to preserve
the wonderous gifts that have been created by mortal and God alike.
Polymnia was as curious as the day is long and it was only a small
passage of time before she had broken the weak ties to her gypsy
camp and found her way into Duipre's life. Duipre was not only into
art recovery, he also excelled in its creation. He specialised in
tapestries and was well known amongst his merchant friends for
producing artwork equal, if not better, to that which he discovered.
Often questioned as to why he continued toexplore; he'd always
reply with a wink, "I don't choose to explore, it chose me".
Time seemed to ebb and flow for Polymnia. It was but a blink of
an eye to her before she was off on expeditions with Duipre; yet
in his company it seemed to stand still. The two grew inseparable
and life was a dream.
Volume I, Chapter II

As the threads of the multiverse would have it; life was to take a
turn for the worse for Polymnia. An expedition to retrieve purported
lost art from a shipwreck off Crystal Island coast was to be a knife
through the Spirit of Polymnia. The treacherous Western Aryth was
particularly so this day. When nearing the island, jagged rocks struck
the ship leaving a gaping hole in the portside hull. The ship was
immediately doomed and quickly was sinking to its inevitable fate.
Duipre was injured upon impact; paralysed from the waist down. He
and Polymnia desperately clasped to some debris as the waves tossed
them around relentlessly. However with no strength left and his
consciousness fading, he succumbed to the ocean and released his
grip on the debris and Polymnia. She remembers hopelessly watching
him sink with one arm reaching out until his eyes closed for the
final time.
Later that fateful day after the ocean had appeased its bloodthirsty
appetite, Polymnia was able to reach the beach of Crystal Island.
Waiting for her there was a silent owl perched that was watching
her with wide eyes. She felt an instant both with this creature, like
it was the spirit of Duipre living on, protecting her. The owl never
leaves her side and she vowed to continue on with Duipre's work
and discover the lost wonders of Theran tapestry and other artwork.
She believes this is the path chosen for her in life and will live it
with her spiritual guardian until her last breath.
