Description

This massive black and orange behemoth is a testament to the brute strength of his fire giant kin. His black skin is pulled taught over rippling muscle, thick bones, and dense sinew. While this giant is young he is already covered in horrendous scars all over his massive frame. Fiery orange and red hair erupts from his skull in a mohawk and down his face in a wild beard. Intense orbs of flame and rage take in all around them from deep hollowed sockets. He is adorned in a mismatch of armor and hides and has a myriad of weapons the ready.

Darkness was Pyroxs father and pain his mother. His womb a cell in a place
he heard the wizards call the cube. There was no sense of time in the
darkness of his womb, just the screams of others he would never meet to keep
him company. His captors would show just when he began to heal up from his
old wounds. Small things these magi, but such pain they brought with them.
They used him as a game, the goal was to see who could make their fire magic
hot enough to kill a fire giant. There fire was not the red and oranges that
soothed him and kept him warm, no it was the blues, greens, and purples of
wizard flame that caused even his hardened flesh to bubble and crack. They
would bet with each other to see whose flame would burn the hottest on his
blackened skin. They would taunt him and scream for his death that they might
impress their ilk, so much that he thought his name was Pyrox Jussdye when
they really were demanding Pyrox Just Die!. Pyrox would not just die
however, during these deadly games he would delve deep into his mind and find
a place away from the pain. Let them burn away his weakness, only strength
would remain.

Pyrox remembered no life before this miserable existence. While the
mages used their fire to try to burn away his sanity, he began to kindle a
flame in himself. That by the day he was birthed from his womb of pain had
become a raging inferno. The escape was hazy even long after. He remembered
just pieces of it, something snapping inside him, and in kind snapping of
chains that had become brittle from heating and cooling too many times,
walking through mage fire to snap their necks like twigs. That is the part
that stuck out the most, the odd realization that all these years his
tormentors were no more than twigs to be snapped. Using their bodies as
shields as the magi gaoler used his spells to turn them to pulp, and the
feeling of supreme satisfaction tearing the femurs from his shield to thrust
through the gaoler's chest. A strange glowing portal he found in one of the
magi's chambers would spill him from his womb into the world. He saw a
dark chasm before him, and could almost taste the dread magic in the air.
he would crawl exhausted to collapse on a caravan road near the gates of
Hamsah Mu'tazz.

Dwarven Forged

Pyrox was found by a group of dwarven arms merchant who found him collapsed
on the road and being impressed anyone could survive such wounds took him in.
Having lost one of their own body guards, they brought him back to health as
a possible replacement. However there was a price for their aid, dwarves
rarely give outsiders and especially giants anything for free. He was to work
off his debt as one of their body guards. They had their captains of arms
train him, a grizzled dwarf named Korgg. Korrgg did not take it easy on the
giant if anything he pushed him harder than anyone because he saw the ingot
of potential. Being a devote worshipper of Thror HammerSong, he would take
the raw talent of Pyrox and forge it into a finely honed weapon.  Korgg and
Pyrox not only shared a thirst for combat but also a hatred of magi, and as
such Korgg filled Pyrox's head with tales of Thror and his Battle Ragers.
Pyrox took great interest in these things as well as the forges and smiths
when they gathered goods in Akan.

A few years passed and Pyrox had become the mightiest guard in the
caravan, even though he still acted like a savage most of the time. He had
repaid his debt and begun to realize his own sense of worth. His fascination
with the way of the Hammersong and the idea forging himself and those around
him into perfection had grown into reverence. However he was still prone to
fits of rage and his hatred of magi had grown into an obsession. Eventually
it would get the best of him and he would slay a mage merchant the dwarves
were doing business with. While he was tolerated for his strength, he was
still a fire giant, and as such the dwarves cast him out to find his own way.
Korgg gave him some final advice to remember the teachings of Thror
Hammersong and to seek out the Battle Ragers, that he might continue forging
his path in the world.
