Description
A curvy woman of average height holds herself with grace and poise.
Her skin is the color of creamed coffee, and appears to be without
blemish. Her dark, soulful eyes appear to be brimming with perpetual
adoration that could only be exuded by a woman of astounding faith.
Well-groomed eyebrows accentuate her merciful gaze, and her thick,
black hair is gathered sleekly into a topknot that is clasped at her
crown with a golden bangle. From this, a tail of lustrous raven hair
cascades down her back, clasped at even intervals with thick golden
rings. Standing this near to her, you catch the aroma of sandalwood
and lavendar perfume that lingers about her. Her movements are gentle,
soothing, and deliberate. Upon inspecting her condition, you see

A Twisted Love Story
Added Mon Jun 4 16:41:00 2012 at level 4:
Qalita was born of two star-crossed lovers. Her mother, Jazmira, served the
Acolytes as a healer on permanent assignment in Hamsah Mu'tazz, the city of
her birth. Though generally law-abiding, when her ethics were put to the test,
she chose light over law when confronted with offering her divine aid to a
Maran who hunted the wicked in her city. She refused to confess to her crime,
and with few witnesses, she was placed in custody during the investigation.
Her captor was Solan d'Sair, an anti-paladin Vindicator of the Blood Tribunal and
of fierce sexual appetite. Though evil, he was an agent of law, and would not rape
a prisoner. But Jazmira was a woman of remarkable allure, and Solan was a man who
acquired what he desired. So, he placed Jazmira under a perpetual worldbinding so
his true nature would not be known, and over the weeks courted the prisoner, until
she fell in love with him.
What had begun as a deception and desire for raw sexual conquest, blossomed into
true love. Solan, though he felt Jazmira foolish and naive, grew to sincerely
love her in his own selfish way. And for her part, Jazmira felt an irrational
passion for her strong, dark captor. Even once the truth of Solan's dark nature
became revealed, she was a Priestess of Love, and could not deny her own emotion.
She would plea with Solan to redeem himself, and Solan would utter false promises,
and she would melt and submit to him. In Solan's mind, his lies were a mercy
to the woman he burned for, and he concealed his true nature as much as he could
around her. He began to see her as his precious & adored, yet caged, pet. She
was his sorce of comfort, love, and pleasure, and in exchange, he protected her
and kept her insulated from the harsh and evil truth as much as he could.
By the time Jazmira was found guilty of her crime and sentenced to death, it
was known that she was with child. Solan pleaded to the Justicars that it
would be an act of injustice to punish the unborn child for the crimes of the
mother, and that her execution should be stayed until the child was weaned.
A Shattered Childhood
Added Mon Jun 4 16:47:43 2012 at level 4:
And so it was that Qalita was born in prison. For the first years of her life,
she knew only of the confines of her cell. As time wore on, Solan found it
increasingly difficult to conceal his nature. He became increasingly abusive,
yet still he loved his caged pet, and Qalita often was witness to her father
beating and abusing her mother, only to see him caress and kiss the same
bruises he created. Solan would release the worldbinding long enough for
Jazmira to heal her own wounds, sometimes from the brink of death.
Qalita would watch wide-eyed, and received the same message from both her
parents; Solan hurt Jazmira because he loved her. He didn't want to, but
she deserved it - for some reason or another. Qalita was a child and did not
understand the rationalizations they offered. Her mother was holy and good
and with these dismissals hoped to shelter Qalita from knowledge of evil.
But instead, Qalita's worldview distorted - she equated these acts with
goodness and love.
Jazmira nursed Qalita long past normal weaning-age, at Solan's command.
They both knew once Qalita weaned, Jazmira would be put to death. The
Tribunal would have forced the separation sooner if not for Solan's
manipulations to keep his caged beloved pet as long as possible.
So it was Qalita was on the brink of womanhood when one day, Solan
entered their cell to find his nearly-grown daughter nursing
at her Jazmira's breast. The sight aroused a sinister desire in Solan.
What transpired then is too vile to recount, but at last Solan
had done something Jazmira could not rationalize or endure.
Jazmira went absolutely berserk, and Solan was forced to separate
mother and daughter.
The next day, Jazmira's execution was scheduled, Solan insisted that Qalita
observe the "ultimate act of sacrificial love". Qalita had known for
years about her mother's sentence. She understood. She kissed her
mother's brow, carassed her cheek, and held her hand as Solan brought
down his axe upon her neck. Afterwards, she wept, and used the same
healing skills her mother had taught her to seal the body and to
render it beautiful for burial.
Coming of Age
Added Mon Jun 4 16:52:48 2012 at level 4:
Solan loved Qalita even more than he loved Jazmira. Unlike Jazmira,
Qalita never questioned his authority. Unlike Jazmira, Qalita
accepted him fully, and was not conflicted in her love for him.
And she always silently yielded to Solan's incestuous acts, for
her mother had taught her never to refuse an act of love.
However, Qalita had committed no crime and could not be kept
as a caged pet as Jazmira had in the prisons. She was sent to
study law, healing, and the arts. In her studies, she learned
something shocking.
Qalita learned the deeply-written edict of law of all cultures
that bans acts of incest. If one might have read into the deep
psychology of Qalita, they would have found a sense of liberation
and relief, but this is not how Qalita was capable of experiencing
the rush of emotion. Instead, she interpreted her feelings as an
overwhelming sense of love and sorrow, for she knew her beloved
father would be under penalty of death.
She was shocked, however, when her confession to the Justicars
yielded knowledge that the Blood Tribunal was powerless to act
against any crime not specifically stated in the Code of Law.
Qalita, whose shattered mind constantly sought order in her
demented world, could not fathom how authorities of law could
be so restricted.
Eventually, she saw no choice but to take matters into her own
hands. She acquired a toxin and blended it into the healing
tea remedy she often offered her father when she accompanied
him on a Vindicator's Hunt. Before the lethal venom fully took
hold, Solan knew.
"My beloved Qalita," he said with weakened breath. "Why?"
"My gift," said Qalita, with tears in her eyes, his hand in
in hers. "An ultimate act of sacrificial love, to liberate you
from your crimes."
The Blossoming Priestess
Added Mon Jun 4 16:57:02 2012 at level 4:
With both parents deceased, disenchanted with the Tribunal,
and known relations, Qalita was relegated to the slave caste.
Ownerless, but a specimen of talent and beauty, she was
conscripted to work as a Temple slave. In this service, she
learned quickly that the world was a broken place, and set
herself to the purpose of healing it. Honoring the spirit of
her mother, she embraced all she encountered with kindness,
love, and gentleness. She sought mentorship with healers of
the light, who rejected her at first glance, for reasons Qalita
did not understand, for she is blind to her own corruption.
Ultimately, she encountered the Order of the Purple Lotus,
who bore love in their hearts and accepted Qalita's purity
as professed. With the aide of Rayihn, she hoped to find
a path through which she could mend the broken world.
One day, an imperial overseer came to the Great Temple
with the intended errand of acquiring slaves for the
Imperial High Priest. Knowing no Hamsah Mu'tazz priests
held particularly special attachment for the young healer,
yet that she possessed qualities that made her a desirable
slave, Qalita was offered without hesitation to the Empire
as tribute. Qalita, in turn, embraced the Empire, seeing
its authority and unity as a means of mending the world.
She saw capable authority where the Tribunal had been limited.
And so, Qalita's story begins, a low priestess, legal
property of the Empire, who impressed upon the overseer
such beautific loyalty and submission that she was afforded
the freedom to hone her skills freely. She was promised that
she would be considered for full Imperial citizenship if she
is able to develop her clerical skills of be use to the Divine
Sect.
The Touch of Rayihn
Added Tue Jun 5 09:11:48 2012 at level 8:
Early in her life, Qalita d'Sair makes her first holy pilgrimage
to the Sacred Bathhouse of the Purple Lotus. There, she baptized
herself in its holy waters and most remarkably, had an early
encounter with the Goddesss herself.
The touch of Rayihn invigorated her, further sparking her holy zeal. This
is the first and most vital step to lift herself from the slave caste
and into a position to be a true holy servant of Therankind. Upon
looking into Rayihn's eyes, Qalita sees a world where every inhabitant
if this world will be united in love for one another. Even if she cannot
see this come to pass within her lifetime, she will work tirelessly towards
these ends.
Bloodoathed
Added Wed Jun 6 07:44:26 2012 at level 17:
After receiving Lady Rayihn's blessing and gaining some measure
of skill in her guild, Qalita sought the blessing of High Priest
Relynar to take the bloodoath. He granted it, thus liberating her
from her from the slave caste.
Relynar informed her not to expect much from the Imperials as
bloodoath, and to this she replied she expected nothing except to
offer her love and service to those who work to unify Therankind.
She informed the High Priest she has no ambition but to serve
and assist in the coming of Unity that the Empire can
bring to Therankind, and she wholeheartedly believes this.
(The understated part of this, however, is slowly over time,
she may form judgments about who is or is not more or less
suited to this task, which may lead to her ambitions. For the
moment, her seemingly-selfless pursuit of service is for all
intents and purposes authentic.)
Insights and Passions
Added Sun Jun 10 15:39:32 2012 at level 31:
Qalita d'Sair is now a respectably ranked priestess, both in
her guild and within the Empire, in which Empress Alannah
herself promoted her to Divine Voice.
Qalita, however, can not yet rest easy. The Empress, a woman
to which Qalita has expressed adoration second only to Lady
Rayihn herself, exacts fierce demands of her followers. Having
been raised in a prison, Qalita is a woman of some ignorance,
a fact which causes her great embarassment and sorrow when
revealed before the Empress, whose exacting demands allows
no such embarassment to remain secreted. The Empress, however
appears to be possessing of some measure of mercy, perhaps
inspired by Qalita's sycophantic fawning and tripping over
herself to follow orders in spite of any blunders.
Qalita is, in her heart of hearts, a fanatically loyal servant
to the Empire and the Unity which it represents. The Empress, as
a monolithic symbol of this, will earn Qalita's fervor, so long
she appears reasonable and receptive to Qalita's affections and
efforts.
Similarly this is true of High Priest Relynar, though seeds of
doubt are now barely planted within her. She utters the words
to the Sect Guardian, that she strives to be the High Priest, yet
does Relynar truly represent what she aspires to? Does HE
offer the majestic and cherished Empress the adoration she
is due? Seeds of thought, at this point. Seeds.
Meanwhile, she has attempted to reach deeper into the sphere
of Love itself, finding a barrier beyond which she cannot touch
Lady Rayhin's Love. This limitation mutes any insubordinate
thought, as she is reminded of her youth and inadequacy. She
has much work to do before she is truly capable of possessing
the influence she must in order to take Therankind into the
Embrace of the Empire, of Unity and Love.
On Angels and Demons
Added Sat Jun 23 06:52:16 2012 at level 35:
When Qalita was young, her Acolyte Mother Jazmira had sung praises
about the angels. Qalita was dazzled by these tales - beings of pure
holiness and love. Being in the presence of such a being could be
only exceeded by being in the presence of the Cherished Goddess.
No longer does she hold such a misconception. Slain by the hand
of an angel accompanying a Fortress conjurer who invaded the
Imperial palace, she found the entity to be nothing but hatred and
rage and unjust pain. It was an unholy thing.
Conversely, she had occasion to meet what some might call a demon,
or at least part-demon. One known as Davarrah from the Plane of Shadow,
who stood as a paradigm of civility and grace. She observed the
being kill through an act that looked identical to an embrace and
and a kiss. Davarrah explained that the experience of causing death
was one she could even cause to be an experience of exquisite pleasure.
Now Qalita loved her mother. Jazmira surely would not have *lied* to
her. Clearly this, Davarrah and the other beings she speaks of in
her home plane are the true angels; death brought by embrace, and
punishment by kiss. And the blinding hated-beings of light - they,
they are the true demons.
Davarrah expressed an interest in Qalita (of course she did -
what angel would not express interest in a devoted holy woman?)
The angel claims to have business with the Cherished Empress Alannah,
and might enlist Qalita as an intermediary. Should she gain this
opportunity, surely her prestige in the Empire will be improved.
(Note: Qalita understands that most see Davarrah as a vampire,
and angels as angels. She is dellusional, but not foolish, blind,
or unaware of how most people see things. But as a priestess of
increasing vanity and power, she will increasingly reject popular
versions of reality, and substitute her own reality in a vocal manner.)
Surrogacy of Contrition
Added Fri Jul 6 23:10:48 2012 at level 42:
Upon the meager success of Imperial recruitment attempts, if occurs to
Qalita that any successful civilization supports its population through
reproduction.
However, Qalita rejects the notion of traditional "motherhood" and
"fatherhood". This, she believes, is a distorted, Infidel construct
of false and selfish love. In a utoptian society, she concludes,
offspring are wards of the state, and love is universally shared with
the collective, rather than in small dysfunctional family units.
(This twisted conclusion is, of course, unconsciously concocted due to
her own horrific childhood which she remains in denial about.)
A problem persists, however, is that the entire Imperial population is
engaged in active-duty service. Women of many professions are far too
physically engaged in combat to forfeit their bodies to reproduction.
Yet these strongest of women are precisely those that should be breeding
their superior qualities into a future Imperial Youth.
Thus Qalita has concocted a Repopulation Plan that is currently
in its experimental phases. If successful, it may be presented to
the Empress.
- Female Imperial spies and soldiers of Elite rank or higher will
achieve impregnation in its early stages. Julliane is recruited
for stage one.
- For maximum effect on the general population, seed from select
enemies of immense strength will be farmed from their corpses.
Aucius has agreed to teach the correct testes incision to Julliane.
- While the unborn creature remains small enough to be no
hindrance to its host, summoning magic will be employed to transfer
it into a hostess capable of carrying it to term without an
impact on duties. Priestesses are ideal candidates, and Qalita
is willing to be the initial surrogate, and Rakshul will
perform the summoning ritual necessary.
Birthed youths will be set to early indoctrination. On
success, the Infidels will be confronted with the true
Oneness of Therankind, as they are helpess to even
their own children bring embraced into the Empire through
this method. Even if they harden the hearts against Unity,
children will be forfeit to the embrace of Imperial rapture.
Healing and Unity
Added Wed Jul 25 12:06:22 2012 at level 51:
Several key personnel within the Empire now work with Qalita
as she begins the implementation of the Imperial Youth Program.
Seed is being harvested from enemy males, largely from corpses.
Imperial males of sufficient strength are also invited to donate their
seed to the Archive. Some have suggested that they merely propogate
their attributes through rape, but this Qalita harshly condemns, both
because rape is a criminal act, and because reproduction without
control over the outcome is counterproductive.
Now that Qalita has achieved status as a fully ordained Elite,
she has deemed herself qualified to contribute her own progeny.
Combined with Rayhin's demand to seek inner healing, she felt
drawn to personally usher life into the world.
An interesting opportunity towards these ends arose when Nightreaver
Xasivus sought to strike down Qalita one day. Qalita avoided
his aggression by utilizing caves and subterranean lairs. At last,
the Nightreaver, declaring his attempts futile, requested to
meet Qalita on their shared Sacred Ground of Rayhin's Bathhouse.
At first believing the Nightreaver wished a theological discussion,
Qalita instead found his motive for the invitation to be lust.
While at first repulsed by the notion of laying with a savage,
Qalita saw a unique opportunity to impregnate herself with the
seed not only of a strong enemy - but of one blessed by Rayhin.
Still haunted by the trauma from her father, she shielded her mind
with prayer, making love only to Rayhin in her soul and ultimatley
slipped into a healing sleep as Xasivus completed his carnal act.
Qalita awoke refresh, life ignites within her. A Blessed Child.
But this would be but the first. Her vanity and her new position as
Elite questions whether acting as surrogate is necessary. She is
Elite - a Holy Mother to the next generation of Imperial Youth.
She would employ women as necessary as surrogates and wetnurses for
the children. This is a mercy, she believes, as she spares women
from a life of prostitution or abuse, offering them shelter.
The women are to be offered a special, sacred water concoction Qalita
has invented - blessed waters mixed with herbs, including a root
of metabolic quickening extract to accelerate growth.
In her time off duty she will be showering the children with
love and indoctrianting them in the Imperial law & ethics.
This includes an indoctrination of Oneness and Unity that
rejects individual relationships as superior to Unified
love, and as such parentage will remain classified until the
Blood Oath is taken. She will love them all.
