Description
A dark cowled figure is here, reeking of death. The
stench of the grave is oppressive, so thick it almost hangs
in the air like a tangible haze. Necromantic symbols
adorn his clothes, a yellow glow surrounding the runic
sigils.
His black hair trails out from underneath his tightly-wrapped cowl, stains
of blood dripping slightly onto the ground below. His dark-yellow eyes seem
to glow with an unholy light, a terrible glint of sadism
contained within his piercing gaze. As he moves, there is the faint
squishing sound that follows his movements, like the hypnotic rhythym of a
war drum.

Qaz treaded softly down the dark corridor, tightly clutching his necromantic
tomes close to his chest. He shivered at the chill of death in the air.
Suddenly, a severed arm flew at him! The fingers grasped at his throat for
a moment before the arm came crashing down on his pile of books and sent them
spilling to the ground. A dark chuckle came from the shadows. "Worthless cur,"
Qaz thought to himself as he knelt down and began gathering his
tomes into a pile. A flesh golem shambled over as he knelt, and
grabbed Qaz with its oozing appendages. It picked him up, and
carried him down the hall to a series of small cubbyholes where
various sets of necromantic implements were stored. It found an empty one and
slammed Qaz into it, before moving to block the entrance with its body.
Qaz could see only golem, but could hear a couple young dark-elves giggling, and
what sounded like a high-five. He had heard how the lessons were hard
at Necro U, but he didn't realize what sadists they were here. He squirmed
in his cubby hole until he was able to get a candle lit, and started thumbing
through his tomes for the Disruption spell. . .
Expelled!

The bullying continued for the next two years, hard, trying years for Qaz.
Every time he made a construct, the second he took his eyes off it, it
was blasted into a million pieces by the dark-elf twins. Professor
Lichvarius just had his cold, hollow laugh whenever he complained about
all the abuse. One of the senior instructors liked to have a gloomwraith
follow Qaz around and drain his morale during lunchtime. During lab he always
got the worst body parts, how was he supposed to choke the life out of someone
with the arm of a reduced gnome? Qaz mused on the futility of death.
Finally, he had enough. He assembled a powerful army of zombies, ghouls, and
a couple golems, and stormed into the living quarters looking for those
wretched drow twins. Unfortunately the headmistress was there, and with
a few choice cantrips and a flurry of blows from her whip, Qaz's army
was reduced to a few assorted pieces of gore and he was packing his bags
for trying to execute his classmates.
Qaz was tired of being bullied. It was time he became the bully.
The Long Journey

Qaz packed his bags and began his long journey. He traveled through wilds,
being careful to move only by night to avoid the predators that prowled. In
cities, he stayed to the darkest shadows of the darkest alleys, making sure
never to get in sight of the Paladin's guild.
+ Finally, after many weeks, he arrived at his destination. As he caught
glimpse of the cursed abode, a cold chill ran down his spine. He steeled his
courage, and flexed his fingers unconciously in anticipation, as he slowly
advanced on the building. He knew that the creature within would stop at
nothing to destroy him, and now would be his final test
of the lessons learned at Necro U. He stealthily crept to the door, and,
holding his breath, he opened it ever so slightly without making a sound, the
cant of the sleep spell on the tip of his tongue. *THWACK*. Qaz nearly
swallowed his tongue from the force of the blow to the back of his skull.
His eyes watered, stars filled his vision, and he attemped to turn towards
the direction
of the blow and utter a word of death. A cat whined pitifully in the
distance. Another savage blow to his head followed, and for a time, he knew
only darkness.
Qaz woke to a letter being thrust in his face, and a shrill voice screeching:
"...ust recieved this from Professor Lichvarius, EXPELLED!?!?!Do you know
how hard me and your father worke....."
Qaz faded in and out of conciousness. He tried to feebly grasp for his
potion of inkroot
poison to end his life, but the woman had already removed it from his tunic.
"...ome in here trying to sneak in, talking in tones, and kill our cat
Mittens?? Is that what they teach you at Necro U?? Why, if your father
were aliv...."
Qaz grimaced in agony. At least she had put down the broom. He knew he had
but one hope left - summoning every ounce of concentration,
he wove a sleep spell on his mother as she ranted about the price of wagon
wheels in the Month of Heat. Finally, he cast a forget spell on her, and
grabbing his meager belongings, retreated
to the cellar where he knew her fear of spiders would keep him safe and
undiscovered.
Addiction!
Added Thu Nov 3 00:52:47 2011 at level 47:
Qaz's talents would not go to waste, no. He wasted no time
in setting up the cellar to continue his gruesome experiments. He liberated
Mittens' body from the backyard during one night and animated her.
Most of the rest of the time was spent smoking pipeweed laced with embalming
fluid, which had the unfortunate side effect of making Qaz a little insane. He
came up with all sorts of wild ideas, of turning everyone into zombies, of
making money by staging zombie fights down at the creek by the village.
As he continued to smoke more and more, his grip on reality became looser and
looser. He would often snap at a moment's notice at zombie Mittens, and he
would take to himself and be very irritable for days on end. He hated the
light, and his drive to be a powerful necromancer fell by
the wayside, a victim of his addiction. Qaz was mad. Angry, insane, frustrated
and uncontrollable. Finally he caught wind of an elixir that was rumored to
surpass even the potent high of embalming fluid-laced pipeweed.
Qaz gathered many snacks and with undead Mittens in tow, set off
to find this cleric and get a drink of the elixir. However, Qaz was really
confused and very intoxicated, and after a brawl with some guards, he
ended up in the sewers of Hamsah, bloody and bruised.
He wandered for a time among the underground, finally coming to some
catacombs, and coming upon a great undead creature. The
Conservator listened quietly to Qaz's slurred speech, his rant about bullies,
the story about the elixir, and his female troubles. Finally, he spoke.
"Bring me these four tokens..."
The Empire
Added Thu Nov 3 00:58:08 2011 at level 47:
"...held within a utensil of wood." Qaz listened carefully, mostly
out of confusion if the undead creature in front of him was
real, or just one of his drug-induced delusions. Whatever the
case, he decided that the four items the Conservator had
just named could be gathered. He had heard whispers of
a ritual to make a mummy, and he had some free time, so why
not do what the dead guy said? Perhaps he would get that elixir after all.
He found three of them very easily, but the last one
proved to be very elusive. That's when the Dread Lord
approached him with a tempting offer. . .the location of
his last item for his soul. Well, he figured that if he was
a mummy, he wouldn't need his soul anymore, so he accepted.
Now, the laziest, most unreliable, angry Imperial, but armed
with the information of his last item, he balances sloth with
aggression towards Imperials and general malaise. Soon, the
time of his becoming is at hand, and these fools will just be a
distant memory. . .
