Description

A young male felar is here. He is stocky, with short powerful legs and a long tail. The shaggy fur covering his body is mostly a pale, sandy color with a few spots. White fur covers the area around his mouth, chin, throat, and belly. A pair of tall, pointed ears at the top his head are a tawny brown with black tips. Three dark rings with alternating buff bands encircle his tail to end in a similarly dark tip. His greenish-yellow eyes are encircled by white, with a thin line of reddish fur extending from the outside corners, across his cheeks, and down to his jowls. The confident grace with which he carries himself suggests a warrior's training. He seems to prefer a flamboyant style of dress mostly in shades of red and you notice a golden, claw-shaped brooch on his left breast.

Role

A Warrior's Motivation

Added Sat Aug 30 14:08:42 2014 at level 1:
Crouched in a defensive position, one young felar stands surrounded by three
others in the Tavern of the Red Lion. None of them wield weapons but the
situation is not any less dire for it. Their claws and teeth flash in the dim
lamplight of the tavern as they stalk and eye one another looking for
openings. Rahfi, having started the fight with the others breaths deeply and
growls with excitement, his adrenaline enhanced senses blazing to life. In a
flurry he pounces on the closest one sending chairs and benches toppling. The
remaining two leap into the fray as fur flies and the tavern fills with the
sounds of mewling, growling, and hissing.

"Enough!" Was all Rahfi heard before the crack of the bouncer's quarterstaff
sent him and his opponents sprawling unconscious...

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Rahfi Samandari grew up in Blackclaw with no family to speak of, becoming
more a child of the community than the typical big city orphan. Even as a
toddler he was known as quite the little ruffian. He was never out to hurt or
kill his peers, but he enjoyed a good scrap and the heightened senses
adrenaline granted when in the fray. Naturally this led him to seek the
warrior's guild in his later years and tutelage under Weianth, a fela Rahfi
admires greatly for her confidence and flamboyant styling.

Curiosity may kill cats, but it is what ultimately led Rahfi to leave his
fortress home. The mercenaries of Blackclaw often have outlandish tales of
fame and glory. Rahfi wanted to become part of those tales himself, perhaps a
legendary brawler or daring adventurer known for performing perilous feats.
Leilah the mercenary captain, another fela and dear friend of Rahfi's would
not hire him on as a mercenary regular. She insisted that his skills would be
too dulled by sitting around waiting for commissions, so she insisted that he
leave to find his own work.

A Warrior's Faith

Added Sat Aug 30 23:34:27 2014 at level 10:
Rahfi emits a low growl as the human priest approaches, warning that he does
not want to be disturbed. He lays a furtive claw on one of the strange
figurines set about the altar. Sniffing quizzically, his nostrils are filled
with the scent of incense and mildewed tent leathers. Such a strange people
to come where they are outsiders in hopes of swaying a few souls to their
cause. To what purpose though? Don't they already have the power they sought?
Strange indeed, but their teachings are only a passing curiosity of Rahfi's.
He sets himself back to his training.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

There is little use for morals when locked in the heat of battle. Rahfi is no
cold blooded murderer, but he has never seen much use in the self-sacrificing
ways of the righteous. His neutrality is born of apathy as opposed to lofty
ideals of balance. Yes, best to keep one's conscience from the light of day
when the next job might lead to some nasty business or another. He has his
boundaries, but for the most part Rahfi will take any job that gives him a
chance to prove his skill.

The religious of Thera hold some intrigue for Rahfi. Their devotion to beings
well above their own power in exchange for power is perplexing. A warrior
should strive to unlock their own strength through practice and training.
One's faith should be in the self and one's weapons, not some being so
powerful that they likely take no note of the mortals below. Perhaps when his
body has weakened with age he can turn his mind to these questions with
greater intensity.

Seeking Fame

Added Sun Sep 14 23:55:44 2014 at level 25:
Rahfi blinks to clear his vision of the brilliant colors that burst before
him. Arvam Raeneu coalesces from the colors and immediately a spike of
jealousy courses through Rahfi. Vibrantly colored wings, finely tailored
clothes, and a brilliant diamond all work to tighten Rahfi's chest with
covetousness. He knows it is foolish to want for the appearance and toys of
gods, so he clears his head and goes about what he came here for...

---------------------------------------------------------------------

The sign of the diamond was in the sky, and so Rahfi went to seek Arvam. Not
to offer his patronage, but to offer his services. Rahfi has traveled much
and completed many jobs for the common Theran, but he yet remains bereft of
treasure troves, fame, and glory. Surely, to perform a task given by a god
would bring greater rewards?

Much like the mercenary captain in Rahfi's youth, Arvam would give no
specific job. Instead, he tasked Rahfi to find something that would put his
name on the tongue of all Therans. Seek fame and recognition. A common theme
from those whom Rahfi has admired thus far.
