Description
Looking at this felar, one notices that his fur is much like that of an
orange tabby cat. Somewhat short for his face, he appears to be just around
four feet or so tall. This sleek felar moves with fluidic grace, as each
movement appears deliberate and precise. However his tail seems to move with
a mind of its own as it twitches ever so slightly every now and then. His
emerald green eyes intently watch those of his surroundings, darting back and
forth as if he was on high alert for something which was unseen. Combined
with his tufted ears that twitch slightly with the softest sound, his gaze is
like that of a predator hunting for his next prey whatever that may be. His
garments appear to be well fitted allowing him full movement, and dull in
color. Looking at his paws one can see that he seems to flex them from time
to time, as razor sharp claws can be seen.
Role
Raju outline
Added Sun Apr 28 09:56:07 2024 at level 9:
Born into slavery as part of a breeding program to produce felars which were
hollows. A hollow is a being which is untouched by magic, totally void of any
magical essence. They are thought to be incorruptible and resistant to magic,
and more so unable to use magic themselves.
His master (who was a magi who started the breeding program) sought voids to
be his personal guards, hunters and assassins against rival magi who would
seek to defy him. The hollow was also valued by the magi because they were
immune to many of the arcane devices within the tower, and as well would
never be able to use any of them. Thus guaranteeing they would not be tempted
to take or use the treasures of the magi.
Raju never knew love, compassion or any sort of kindness. His life from the
time it was known he was a void had been of hardship. Never knowing his
mother, he had been isolated from any whom could 'corrupt' him. It was
thought this was a way to toughen up the potential candidates, and begin
their assassin training. At a end of his initial training, he was forced to
face the final test. One which was either pass or being killed himself. Raju
was forced to kill his litter mates whom were not hollows. This served two
purposes as the first was to cleanse the possible breeding stock to produce
more hollows. The second was to place Raju upon the path of death and
bloodshed. Killing what little emotions he had and to break his free will.
Raju sought to please his Master at first, trying to earn his praise and
attention. To prove himself to his master and improve his position in life.
However it was only ever met with cold contempt and any sort of bond which
Raju sought was always rebuked. If anything, punishment was the response for
daring to interact with his master in any way other then what was demanded of
him. Only fear and loathing remained, and his actions became more vicious.
Narcotics would often be used to alter the minds of the young hollows, since
magical means would not be effective. A new experimental mixture was produced
and used upon Raju, however he reacted poorly (or perhaps too well) to it and
it sent him into a frenzy. Sent into battle, he accomplished his task with
lethally efficiency, however his master joys about their new success
approached too soon. Still in a frenzy, Raju struck out and nicked the artery
of his master. Before anyone could save him, his master bled out.
Free now of his master, he fled from tower and into the world. Forever
fearing the looming shadow of being enslaved again. Headstrong and fierce, he
does have issues of trust. If someone gets too close to them without his
permission he may strike out at them in defense. However he has a greater
fear and hatred for magi, because he knows he would be sought after as a
prize slave. Refuses to go back and knows he will only be safe if he kills
them before they can get him.
The cub within the cages
Added Tue Apr 30 18:52:15 2024 at level 17:
The stench was unbearable to any who would enter the room, and only matched
by the horrid sight of the felars which were shackled in the small cramped
cages. Dimly lit by only the moon light of the night, otherwise they lived
their lives in perpetual darkness. Perhaps it was a blessing, for to look
upon these creatures would break ones heart and faith in mortals. Yet to the
masters, they were only beast which belonged to them. It did not matter that
they could speak or think, they were simply tools to be used at their whim.
One cage in particular seems to garner the attention of the well dressed
master who is flanked on either side by better fed felar. Though their eyes
are dull and lacking any spark of life, a beast which has been broken and
tamed to their masters will. Peering into the cage the master nods towards a
tiny little felar cub clutched in the arms of its mother. Several other cubs
are nearby, yet only this one has his attention. As the master approaches he
utters an arcane incantation which seems to strike the mother, as she now
spasms upon the floor. With a rough hand, they reach into the cage and lift
up the little cub hissing in defiance as they peer at it eye to eye. "Ah yes,
this is indeed what we want"
That would be the last time the little cub would see its mother, though the
same could not be said about his litter mates.
Hollows

As the master exited the horrific room, he was joined by another who waited
just beyond the door with a rag held up to his face trying to block the
smell. Eyes wide as he looked upon the little cub, a muffled voice could be
heard simply asking 'Is this it? It does not look like much. Why am I paying
so much for this wretched creature?'
As they continue to walk towards the main tower, the master continues to walk
with the squirming cub in his outstretched hand. Quickly a servant runs up
and takes the cub from him, as he then wipes his hands for touching something
so 'unclean'. Turning to face the customer a look of annoyance can be seen
upon his face. 'Yes, this creature is what you are seeking. It is a hollow
and shall be the perfect weapon for conclave so long as you properly break it
and train it.'
A puzzled look overcomes the second magi, and he lowers the rag from his
face, 'Hollow? I am unfamiliar with such a term.' The master can be seen
rolling his eyes at having to explain such a thing, 'Yes a hollow. A being
born untouched by magic. Without any innate arcane affinity, they are a void
within the patter for all magic is concerned. They are the perfect hunter,
assassin, and servant as they are not corruptible by our enemies. More so,
they shall never be able to use any of the arcana which we surround ourselves
with.' The second magis face drops in disbelief, 'Truly? Such a thing is
possible? How..how marvelous!' Slowly a wicked grin spreads across his face
as his gaze now leers upon the little cub.
To become Death
Added Tue Apr 30 19:00:56 2024 at level 17:
From that day forth, the little cub was subjected to harsh training all for
the goal of killing what they were and remaking them into a weapon to be
wielded by their master. It was always reinforced that they were a hollow, a
being without a soul and as such already walked within the shadows of death.
Only in their masters favor would they ever be anything, to serve was their
purpose and the only way they would have salvation for their souless
afterlife.
One would think that with as valuable these creatures were, they would be
handed with care. Though that could not be further from the truth, as the
magi were ever breeding the lines of felars to achieve the numbers they
wished. If one did not live up to their standards, they would be culled to
prevent the line from being tainted. If they lacked the killer instinct or
showed any weakness, again they would face death. There was only survival at
the whim of the magi, or endless abyss to claim them.
As the years passed, that little felar cub which had been taken had somehow
survived to this day. Yet the hardest task was yet to face him, as a familiar
smell tickled his memory. A smell so akin to his own, a smell he could not
forget if he tried. A frenzy filled his eyes as they darted back and forth
looking for the source of the smell. Looking for his litter mates. And as the
door opened to the training yard, there they were. His three litter mates in
wretched condition standing within the middle of the room.
Standing above the room on a balcony stood the two magi staring down at them.
Clicking the symbols adorn to the magi's hand, it signaled for the young
felar to listen and obey. 'Only one felar will be leaving this room.' That
was all that was said and they sat back waiting for things to unfold. The
young felar could feel tears caress his fur, knowing what would be done this
day. That day the little felar killed what was left of himself as he took the
lives of his litter mates. Whispering to himself 'What is dead can not be
killed. What can not be killed shall grow stronger.' He whispered this to
himself the rest of the night as he slowly fell asleep.
The cub who became Raju
Added Tue Apr 30 19:06:06 2024 at level 17:
A few years had passed since that day, and the little cub had grown into that
of an assassin. Cold and emotionless as all he cared about was achieving the
order which was given to him. Some did it out of seeking praise, and some did
so out of fear. But this felar did it out of guilt, hoping that each mission
would perhaps lead to his own death. He could never bring himself to kill
himself though, as such would dishonor his litter mates which died so that he
could continue.
It had been observed for some time now by the magi how their control appeared
to be strained upon the young felar. Pointless to attempt to use magic to
control them, there was nothing that seemed to motivate him in his task other
then to just complete it. Due to this, they resorted into using concoctions
of herbs and drugs to alter his state of mind into a blood lust frenzy seen
among some giant cats in the wild.
Giving the young felar doses of these drugs had amazing affects upon him,
though strict protocol had to be in place to avoid complications. However the
younger magi which had taken possession of him so many years ago was blinded
by his own ego. Upon the successful completion of a mission over one of his
rivals, the magi refused to wait as he wished to pillage the corpse of any
possible arcane artifacts. While his eyes never left the corpse, he failed to
see the young felar still lurking at the edge, his eyes wild and foam at his
mouth. As he got within range, the young felar pounced upon the young magi
sending all others scattering. Had they stood together he would not have
stood a chance, yet without their master to tell them what to do, fear set
in. Hitting the artery of the magi, he died that day still reaching out
towards the artifacts which he so coveted.
Into the forest the young felar fled still blinded by a drug induced rage
chasing anything which moved. As the drugs wore off, the cub found himself
for the first time in his life free of any control. Free of the threat from
the master to inflict pain upon him. Looking back, the felar uttered 'What is
dead can not be killed. What can not be killed shall grow stronger. Raju
shall break all chains and bring death to what enslaves.'
What is in a name
Added Tue Apr 30 19:07:23 2024 at level 17:
Raju, a simple name but for the first time HIS name. Never had he been given
one before because property does not need a name. Why name something which is
just a tool, something which can be discarded and thrown away? Only those
which are free, have worth or has a destiny deserves a name. So it meant
something when the young little felar named himself. Raju, taken in honor of
his litter mates as that was how they always referred to him would ever honor
their death.
However Raju never understood the concept of a sur name or last name. He did
not have a past or ancestry, nor did he have anything which he would wish to
celebrate. To this, he refused to give himself a sur name as that creature
whom was born was dead, and the dead do not care.
Moon Lady, Spirit Rarywey
Added Mon May 27 13:08:05 2024 at level 41:
Within the Village, Raju found his way. At first it was a bit of an odd fit
as he had always been alone in his life. Always depending upon himself and
never needed anyone else around. It was the way in which he lived his life.
The shadow of death, watching the world and life pass by. The claw which
would reach out and snatch those slavers whom traveled into the shadows.
Though as he walked within the village, Raju soon grew to know the few whom
he saw. There was one among them by the name of Aulin. Others called them
Drillmaster, but Raju found that not fitting. The name Aulin held greater
power, and that is how Raju wanted to honor him by. This Aulin however found
the words of Raju intriguing and spoke of his goddess Rarywey once he heard
Raju embraced that of death. Raju of course knew nothing of spirits great of
small, for he had been told his whole life he did not have a soul. For he had
been property and a felar at that. They were nothing more then beast, which
made it all the more acceptable to enslave them. Why would Raju have need for
spirits, or faith?
But Raju had been starting to question a lot of what the masters and slavers
preached. And if they had been wrong upon all that, then could they be wrong
about this? But what is a soul? Raju could not see it, nor smell it. How was
he to know if he had one. Aulin however was certain Raju had one, and to him
invited Raju to take a sojurn with him to the Lady of Deaths place of
worship. Embracing the fear of unknowing, Raju accepted such and braved the
waters to find out if he indeed had a soul.
Souls
Added Mon May 27 13:08:52 2024 at level 41:
Raju never having faith nor even knowing the spirits was a bit off within the
shrine of Rarywey. Embracing the fear and death Raju did not have a problem,
however faced with unknowing of his past and future, that is what nagged at
him. Raju wanted to be so much more then a beast and property, yet there were
greater problems should it prove true that he indeed had a soul.
It ment that those whom were enslaved suffered more so, as their torment was
eternal. Should they die as a slave, would their soul only continue the cycle
of pain? What of those innocents he was forced to kill so that he could
survive? Did that hold any weight upon this soul which he could have?
Yet Raju knew he needed to know, and time and time again he returned to the
place of the Moon spirit. Though once there he was always at a loss as what
to do. Some said you pray, but what was that? Speaking words into nothing?
Closing ones eyes and sitting in silence? But if it meant an answer then he
would try such, and he meditated upon the ocean of stars at the Lady Deaths
domain.
Finally Raju was blessed by the Moon Spirit, Death Lady which some called
Rarywey. Raju knew a warmth he had never been allowed to feel, as it felt of
acceptance. Moon spirit looked upon him and told him that he does indeed have
a soul, as does everything in Thera. A weight upon his shoulders both lifted
but then was replaced by the burden of knowing such. Yet it was better to
know then to be Ignorant.
Raju pledged he would take this knowledge and continue to learn, and be the
shadow of death. For there was more now that needed to be watched. A hand to
pluck and cull those whom escape the flow and whom he would give true freedom
in death. For some that Is the only way out and he would be their ferry
felar.
