Description

You see a towering, red-skinned male before you. He does not seem as large as other fire giants you have seen, but there is no mistaking his intensity. He seems very muscular, with thighs the size of tree trunks and arms nearly as thick. Long wild tufts of fiery red hair hang down to his upper back, and an equally red beard is braided and hangs to his chest, tied with a leather string. Looking closer at this red giant, you happen to notice that

Role

Jhul'Tuq

Added Tue Sep 26 18:21:30 2006 at level 1:
Far south of the desert city of Hamsah Mu'tazz, many miles beyond the Oryx
Steppes is a village named Jhul'Tuq. A tribe of primitive fire giants reside
here, fierce hunters and warriors, strong in spirit and mind. They know
nothing of the great wars of Thera, mostly the local tribes do battle with
each other, though their territories are vast and conflict is usually
secondary to harvesting food for the dry seasons.

Spiritual guidance and divine powers are found in the dreams of the
shaman.Foretelling and predictions are crucial to the survival of the
village due to chaotic warfare and dry spells of the land.
It was in this village that Raquintas and Talrog were raised. The
brothers were known for their cleverness in the hunt as well as in
skirmishes, but neither were overly large as far as fire giants go. It was
not unusual to see them battling with large staves or other wooden weapons,
or wrestling, and they were usually equal matched though Raquintas was four
years younger than his brother.
Life was hard but satisfying in the village, but all that was soon to
change..

The Change, The Foretelling

The Change, the Foretelling

The shaman of Jhul'Tuq closed his eyes as sweat rolled down his massive
brows. 'The dream has come. Great change comes with it to this land.'
Raquintas and Talrog glanced at each other as they stood in the massive tent.
'Life change, what you know, what you live, in all your days, hold fast to
dreams,' the shaman continued as he walked around the tent gathering items
and grinding them into a large bowl. 'Great things I have foreseen, for the
both of you.' Screams erupted from outside the tent, the sound of battle,
the unfamiliar clang of metal. Before the battle rage could overtake either
of the brothers, the shaman spoke a final time to them, 'This battle is not
for you, dream now.' Quickly he threw a fistful of brown dust into each of
their faces, as they collapsed in a heap on the ground, the shaman walked out
of the tent to meet his fate.

Destiny, the Dream

Added Tue Sep 26 18:27:17 2006 at level 1:
In his sleep Raquintas saw unfamiliar sights, felt unfamiliar feelings.A
legion of soldiers walking the streets of a conquered city, Raquintas at the
head barking orders, two massive swords at his sides. Precision and order,
glory on the field. An entire army at his back, the future his to control.
A feeling of oddness at the unfamiliarity of it all. He sees Talrog watching
from the trees far away, body painted and smeared with mud, three wolves at
his side and an aura of wildness surrounding him. Anger overtakes him, and
he wakes up remembering much...

Awakenings

'.don't want them coming too before we get them to-.almost there, two da-'

'.the other one is stirring mor-..'

In and out of consciousness Raquintas came, dreaming dreams of glory in war
that seemed alien yet familiar.
He awoke with a very rough start, tumbling down into a deep muddy
ditch. He sputtered loudly as his brother shook him awake. He saw a large
city and was immediately intimidated by it towards the west, though his
brother looked much as he did in the dream. 'Come!,' his brother shouted,
'Don't have much time before others catch up!' Mud was smeared over his
brothers body, and blood covered his hands, arms, and a pair of bloody
shackles at his wrists.Raquintas crawled backwards out of the ditch,
staring at his brother, mind racing and adrenaline pumping. He knew this was
a turning point in his life, he knew the dreams had guided him in preparation
for this moment. He looked longingly at the city, then back down to his
brother. Talrog looked sad for a moment, then anger overtook his features as
he glared up at his brother. Nodding as if to himself, the giant said from
the ditch as he backed into the wood line, 'So it was fated in dream, so be
it.' Talrog turned and ran deeper into the woods as Raquintas ran into the
city.

Rising Blade

Added Thu Oct 5 17:13:50 2006 at level 29:
He awoke with a startled ghasp. This last dream was surely a gift from his dream god Psuchae. He sat on the ground, silently thinking to himself.
He was rising through the ranks of the Imperial Blades and was in the favor of the Emperor, if not the War Master whom he rarely saw. Training of his body and mind continues daily, and he believes he is well on his way to rising to the top of
the Blade Sect. Dreams continue to guide his destiny and leave him feeling empowered and driven to greatness. He continues to train and to fight his way up through the ranks of the Imperial Order, letting the dreams come and reveal his Fate.
