Description

The felar standing before you hovers at a very large six foot eight in height. He immediately looks very different than most of his kin, not only for his size but his dark blue fur. His coat, shimmers in any lighting eerily the color of an icy ocean. His body appears muscular but worn, signs of trauma and scarring common and visible about his fur coat. His shoulders, broad and powerful connect to a pair of chiseled arms. His torso is defined and hints of white fur speckle his breast. His face is simple and some may even consider him to appear unintelligent. He has a large slightly crooked nose which is littered with white whiskers. His mouth inclines slightly towards his nose, giving him a natural frown. Atop his head are a pair of malformed ears, looking to be chewed up or something similar. He has a braided white mane which descends from his head gently. He carries a scorched leather pouch on his belt amongst other things. He appears to be a religious man of sorts, judging by the medallion of a jaguar around his neck. Still his general appearance is somewhat simple and tribal. Looking closer you observe that...

Role

A beginning

Added Sat Jan 10 08:33:19 2015 at level 3:
In the frigid lands to the south in an encampment of proud tribal felar, an
event transpires that had never happened in their camp. A woman screams in
agony as she delivers a final push. The room growls silent except for the
muffled cries of a young felar child. As the mother asks for the child, the
midwife complies, but not before motioning to one of her assistants to find
the elder.

The mother, now as shocked as any other pauses a moment before embracing her
child. This felar was not like any seen to these people. His fur, a dark,
night like blue, his size, much larger than a typical felar. His ears,
mis-shapen and deformed. She still loved him just the same.

Fear of what one does not understand can cause many to do evil. This was the
case for this unfortunate felar. He was branded as a foul omen and child with
a heart as dark as his coat. He was placed in a wicker basket and set out to
the icy waters. There, he would be cast back out into the cold darkness in
which he belonged.

The child floated aimlessly, the cold slowly draining his life from him. His
fate would seem inevitable. It was then that some large body of rock struck
the sea in which he found himself. This child, by some miracle was swept off
by the waves and ended up in some dry riverbed when the waters finally
calmed.

Most would have perished from exposure to this fierce cold. But by the mercy
of the gods, or his strong felar body he survived. As dawn came he was found
by a young girl who had been scouring the desert for supplies with her
family.

The girl fell in love with this unfortunate creature and insisted to her
mother she bring him home and take care of him. And so, this felar's life
began, a second chance given to him.

His childhood with this family was pleasant. They were good hard working
people. The girl who found him Yanus was an only child, both of her parents
ran a local blacksmith.

Rarhari, as he was called made himself useful whenever he could. He often
played with the spare weaponry in jest and quickly became quite familiar with
them.

As he grew into adolescence, Yanus had become a well known prophet and lady
of light. Still just a young adult, she prayed to Lady Baerininka with devout
vigor. She began to teach Rarhari about the lady and the mission to purge the
lands of darkness.

A prophecy was discovered that though ancient spoke of a girl born with birth
marks of claw marks bringing about an instrument of great power to do great
harm to the dark forces. She was advised to begin a pilgrimage in search of
how this could be accomplished. Of course, she accepted and began
preparations to set out from Hamsah Mutazz.

Rarhari insisted in accompanying her as a guardian. Yanus' father was
grateful and consideredRarhari a gift from the lady herself to protect
Yanus. He forged Rarhari a white blade to use to protect his daughter from
to protect her.

Part 2

Added Sat Jan 10 08:34:04 2015 at level 3:
The journey began quietly, and Yanus began teaching Rarhari the power of
prayer. She taught him how to connect with the divine and that if his heart
was pure, he would always find an answer. Rarhari struggled, but found
himself slowly learning to focus on the goodness of the lady.

Still quite quiet, he himself mostly listened and watched as Yanus preached
to the people she encountered. Loved..and hated, she was constantly watched.
Rarhari realized his duty would require great focus. Men in drab black cloats
boasting a sigil of the codex would
appear and vanish into shadows often, watching her progress constantly.

Their journey first took them to Galadon, where they went to meet with the
local temple for guidance. They were told fragments of knowledge they found
speaking of an ancient artifact found in a nearby network of caverns.

They traveled to this place, and mired in the undead they proceeded and
collected a shard of some blade. It was unknown what it was for, but it
radiated holiness. They proceeded to continue on their journey, finding a
hilt of a sword in a spider's lair.

The battle there was fierce, and Rarhari, nearly perished of powerful
poisons. His life was saved by the efforts of Yanus and the mercy of Lady
Baerininka.

Weakened and exhausted, they proceeded out searching for the next piece of
what they now believed was a great weapon of the light. They proceeded to the
dark city of Udgaard with great caution. They would need to speak to the
oneheart people about a legend of theirs.

They camped on the outskirts of udgaard, choosing to wait until daylight to
proceed. They had another talk of the teachings of Baerininka. Rarhari,
struggling to understand what truly made something pure.

Yanus always smiled and often giggled at Rarhari's overly simple questions.
He had such an innocence about him. She told him she would explain more
later.

This was the last conversation they had together.

That night, they were ambushed by the imperial shadow sect. Rarhari did all
he could, but in the end, he was cast aside by a superior force in battle.
They murdered Yanus and burned the campsite.

Rarhari was left bleeding, a foul wound in his back. Mired in anger and
sorrow he wept for his sister. She opened her eyes briefly and spoke to him,
stroking his face. All she could find the strength to utter was "Live for
both of us now Rarhari." before she died.

Rarhari consumed with rage and sorrow found he himself on the brink of death.
He almost decided to let himself die. Then he remembered. He knew he must
act. He did the only thing he could, he prayed. His prayers were answered and
motes of light healed his wounds
and enabled him to continue.

He gathered the artifacts, which remained pristine despite the flames that
the imperials placed upon them. He carried them, heading into the wilds with
the onehearts.

Part 3

Added Sat Jan 10 08:34:22 2015 at level 3:
He lived in fear for several years, unable to face his defeat. Unable to
return home and face the parents of Yanus. He could not grip with his
failure. He lived in fear and shame.

As time passed, dreams of guilt haunted him. The blue creature could no
longer bare his shame. He decided to find whatever courage was in him and do
what he had promised. He would face his failures, and finally bring peace to
Yanus' parents. He would seek out the Lady Jaguar herself and pray for
forgiveness and her blessing. He had to.
