Description
Midnight black skin stretches tightly over this muscular felar that is
before you - something you discerned from its thrashing snake-like tail,
barbed with bladed piercings. Bulging eyes like black pools of darkness
contrast the flashes of ivory teeth, stained with blood, that can be seen
when this felar turns towards you. The lower fangs so long, they jet out
from underneath obsidian black lips. Primitively hunched over like a
stalking animal, taloned claws with bright crimson steel extensions grasp
at savage weaponry that it scratches and digs into the ground in
anticipation. The crowning glory of his vagabond armament is a cloak;
sable, thick and black and soft as sin. Beneath the heavy cloak emits a
wicked stench of noxious fumes, an infernal perfume of death that follows
this beast. Looking further you decipher the following about his
armaments...
Role
Descent of Madness
Added Thu May 6 01:03:56 2010 at level 5:
"Come close child and bring fire before I die," the old felar struggled
to order between his gasping breaths. Rawvos' father had been "dying" for
several months now, the wretched stench of fetid decay oozing from
beneath the mountain of ragged blankets piled upon him. Lighting his
candle as ordered, Rawvos sat idle wondering of his punishment for today
- the guards had once again brought him home to their small shack among
the slums of Blackclaw. Life among the lowest pack was rough, and blood
spilled among children was not uncommon, but it was not taken lightly
once the guards who interrupted the fight realized Rawvos had torn off
the ear of another...and proceeded to eat it in front of the encircling
mob. The purple hues among his face and body gave evidence to the cities
opinion.
"You should learn from the past" wheezed the dying felar. Mixed emotions
flooded Rawvos' thoughts - on one hand, confusion with disbelief as the
old felar's cane did not fall upon him and rising anger for bringing up
yet again the cursed life of his blood. His father was once a member of
the Village, some say one of the fiercest... before the Empire captured
and "rehabilitated" him. Now lifeless and crippled from the waist down
and seared with the Imperial mark on his neck it was more painful to live
than die with his failure to pick the winning side. Despite the odds,
both had survived thus far although Rawvos was having problems - the
Village recruited heavily from the lowest pack and his stance caused
conflict. Somehow there was always meat and shelter, followed by a
scolding lesson from the cane. "Have you learned there will always be an
order of things? Know your place and your route forward, never defy the
chain..." His father seemed oddly passionate with this speech, his
quivering lips bubbling with phlegm from coughing fits.
"...of command, hear me? You must serve before you lead - make the choice
I didn't..." Uncontrollable coughs wracked his body, stopping any sermon
Rawvos would get this time. His father pushed a plate forward of raw
meat, motioning him to eat with a snide glare daring defiance. Rawvos
swallowed back his anger, knowing full well death would take the bastard
soon and ate despite his meal earlier...
The Final Supper
Added Thu May 6 01:17:26 2010 at level 5:
As Rawvos finished the meal, his father's hand snatched his wrist and
fiery eyes burrowed deep into his own. "Your strength shall be mine, it
is time to continue..." He squeezed hard on Rawvos' wrist, driving the
youth's anger wild while he flailed for his escape. "Learn the beast you
are, control which our race failed....know the truth of what you are!"
The mound of blankets covering the bed shed away to reveal the legs of
his father...or what remained of them. A noxious wave assaulted his
senses, the rot of death overwhelming but through the watering eyes he
saw the truth - although lifeless and crippled, his once full legs were
now only bloody stumps of exposed flesh that looked disturbingly
familiar. Swallowing back the gag reflex growing in his throat, Rawvos
struggled free and slumped to his knees...a flood of memories came to an
explosive conclusion when he realized that he had been eating his father
these years.
Amongst the chaos, Rawvos heard only the last words as death finally took
his father. "Now you know...accept yourself and succeed." Standing a
moment in silence, he begun to gather his meager possessions and stepped
out of the hut - there was no need to do anything, the scavengers would
clean it before the guards took down his childhood home to be replaced by
some other misfortune. His sanity had dissolved passed caring of such
trivial things. The road around the Blackclaw Fort was quiet, ominous to
the events unfolding. He knew exactly where he was going, he had been
there before. The guard lowered his polearm and stepped aside without a
word. Inside another student much older was standing near the guildmaster
complaining about always being hungry. Rawvos laughed for the first time
in a very long time.
Characteristics of Rawvos
Added Thu May 6 23:29:23 2010 at level 6:
-Rawvos is pretty socially awkward, mostly from his inability as a child
to interact with others. From his slipping sanity he finds humor in
almost anything, most of his jokes dark and dirty in nature. Even with
this jolly insight to life, his hatred and anger is easily ignited and
focused upon his enemies. Despite his humor though, the one thing he does
not find funny is the "order of things" - where a misplaced joke can make
a lifelong enemy.
-It's more than likely that his sanity is failing slowly, the descent
started when he learned of eating his father. He still has a strong
fetish for eating flesh, particularly skin which he'll chew on absently.
At times he'll blank out, his mind wandering to nothing or the slightest
thing can grab his attention immediately. Perhaps age will help...or
it'll get worse.
-The only real friend from his past is Jahrarr, the guildmaster of his
hometown. Willing to take him in despite his age, he was instrumental in
honing his desires to the path he now walks. Rawvos will sometimes visit
him and talk but the tables are quite different now that he's out on his
own.
Bone Dinner for Six
Added Fri May 28 15:10:19 2010 at level 41:
Perched atop the lacquered coffin like a bird of prey, Rawvos lazily
lounged about his Sect hall. His Blacks were growing, the coffers
filling, their mark burning into Thera forever. Entertained by his
situation, he watched as the snakes of his whip nipped at a protruding
bone from the rich earth below. It was *his* hall, his Sect...and his
path to the Emperor was almost set forth and yet those below would always
nip at him to cause his demise. The numbing cries of the fallen yearned
from his weapon, begging for release and they grabbed his attention as he
thought of the future - how quick they would be gone, his future forever
lost, the one mistake to end it all. With a word his paw transformed into
a devilish claw, grasping around the tails of the snakes into an
unlockable grip.
No, it wouldn't end if it was gone. His hold on the others was too great,
his ascension was from fear and domination - rewarding those who ratted
on others, creating a tight knit group of Blacks that knew their place.
He could fall, the pain of losing the souls back to the damned would be
great...but he had survived worse. His stomach turned slightly as one of
his snakes swallowed whole a femur, remembering his past and shuddering
at the pain of swallowing such a large object. Rubbing his neck trying to
comprehend such, he was interrupted by one of his Blacks....the woman
Venphoria.
"I've brought you something I thought you might desire, Dread Lord." She
presented some rare drinks in various bottles, obviously an inside joke
to their first meeting. Forced to lose a drinking contest for coin prize
at the Inn, Venphoria always enjoyed reminding Rawvos of her dedication.
Her eyes seem to wander as Rawvos eyed her deeply, lavishing in what he
could do - but wouldn't. With a dismissive wave and a knowing grin, she
exited quietly with a small smile. The snakes devoured the bottles whole
as he had no interest in such....
...for what he desired was flesh and soul.
