Description
As you look up, you see a half-elven woman standing cautiously
before you. Dark brown hair falls in waves onto her slender
shoulders and is tucked behind her slightly pointed ears. A
heart-shaped face frames her delicate elven features and her soft,
almost haunted brown eyes. Glancing over the rest of her, you
notice a large hand-shaped mark around her throat, marring the
soft alabaster palor of her skin. She wears simple clothing
that slightly accentuates her moderately curvacious figure.
Upon closer examination, you also notice that

Background

Name: Razhalia Voorhes
Place of Birth: Darsylon
Razhalia was raised by her mother in Darsylon while her father served in the
Darsylonian army. Her mother Shorwyn, was a kind and gentle woman who tried
to see the good in all people including her abusive husband. When he would
come home from duty or his tours, he would constantly drink and harrass
both Razhalia and her mother. He would call them names, demand respect
for his elven lineage, and beat them both. All while this happened, her
mother tried to keep and protect her daughter from Aranthal's misguided wrath.
And then one day, things got worse...
Aranthal was dishonorably discharged from the army for showing up to duty
drunk. When confronted by a superior officer, Aranthal injured his C.O.
in a fit of rage. And with that, he was drummed out of the army. But that
was not the end of it. Aranthal came home and drank more and started in
on his wife and daughter. He went for Shorwyn first and then went for
Razhalia. He began to choke Razhalia and would've killed her had it not
been for the fact that her mother threw herself onto Aranthal and pushed
her daughter out of the way to safety. Enraged by this, Aranthal choked the
remaining life from Shorwyn. Razhalia took flight to the nearest group
of city guardsmen she could find and tried to tell them what had happened.
She found out that she could no longer speak as clearly as she once had.
Because of the incident, she could only speak in whispers now and it hurt
to speak any louder than that. After the guardsmen finally understood her
pleas, they found Aranthal over Razhalia's lifeless body drinking.
Aranthal was arrested and tried for one count of murder and one count
of attempted murder. Taking what her mother had taught her, Razhalia tried
beg for mercy on her wicked father's behalf, but to no avail. He was sentenced
to death immediately and was beheaded three days later.
A new direction

After becoming an orphan, Razhalia was taken in by a venerable elf that was
an onlooker at the trial. This elf was impressed by Razhalia's pleas for
mercy on her father's behalf. The woman introduced herself as Lisaeria and as
a follower of Corrlaan the Merciful. Lisaeria took her in and taught her
about the ways of the Lord of Archons. Lisaeria nurtured and cared for
Razhalia like she were her own daughter. And after a time, Razhalia decided it
to face the world and find a way to protect others from the unexpected evil
that can appear in the most unassuming places. She took what Lisaeria had
taught her of the healing arts and entered the academy of Thera as an applicant
healer.
A loss and a gain

It seems that I have stressed my voice beyond what it should've been. For
a time, I felt lost as though I would now be a burden on my brothers and
sisters. But through some deep thought and soul searching, I had found that
even though I could no longer speak with my outer voice, that I could still
communicate through my mind, heart, and actions. Now is the time to redouble
efforts, keep all whole, and to further the grace of the light. Now is
the time for us to rejoice and bask in the righteousness of our cause. I must
do what I can in order to keep spirits up and to help keep the Fortress and
the light whole!

After speaking with the Watcher, I was given information on somebody
who may be able to help me regain my voice. We spoke for a while and came
to the conclusion that one of the Troupe, an older version of the Heralds
may be able to help. I spoke with Olar at the Inn for more information and
found out that a man in Hillcrest named Morse knew of a magical spring
with curative properties. I had my friend Austira help guide me to Hillcrest
where we found the man and we spoke to him. He gave me a skin embroidered
with and angel wing on it. I drank the contents and was partially healed.
I cannot yell still, but my voice is better than it has been in some time. I
have been truly blessed by the light and my Lord's mercy. I hope that
I can put my abilities to the proper task and do the light's good work.
Praise be to the light and the Lord.
Meditations and a journey home

I went home recently to see my mentor and parental figure
Lisaeria. I was frustrated and a bit battered, but I went to listen
to any advice that I could glean from her. Over a few pots of
tea and several days, Lisaeria set me straight. "Heal who you can
and do what you can, but do not lose sight of yourself, child.
If you fall or succumb to the shadow's wiles, you are good to
no one. Acts of selflessness are fine and good, but do not fall for
others without a worthy purpose." This is general idea behind our
talks. The rest of the time, we spoke of when I was younger and her
days as an adventurer. Perhaps one day, I can make her proud and
and she will hear my name spoken in conversations for accomplishments
and not for my untimely demise. I have said it many times at the Lord's
shrine, but now-My vision is clearer, let the journey begin.
